My Scripture tells me God is the same, yesterday, today and forever and what He does for one, He will do for another.

Scriptural evidence, please?
I know you have been shown a thousand times already.... in various ways.

It's become like the LGBQ sect of Christianity...
Reasoning won't work.
What I say is not to convert you.

It is for others who see the insanity and wonder if they are alone and wonder why it exists.

The following is about unbelievers. Unregenerate.
But, who will show great acts of invisible power done while using the name of Jesus!

The power must be coming from somewhere else.

"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
On that day many (not a few) will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,
and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matthew 7:21-23

Please note -

Pharaoh's magicians also had power to perform miracles....

Go have your fun.

In what sense do you understand that God does not change?
God changed the means for worship when the Church age began.

Scriptural evidence, please?
People want to ignore the obvious and proclaim tongues isn't beneficial to the one speaking in tongues.

Paul wrote, the One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.

There's no mention of this ever ending because it has a purpose which Paul said,
For the one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

Interesting Biblical fact...

Shittim is a large area in the plains of Moab directly across from Jericho, immediately east of the Jordan and north of the Dead Sea. Shittim is significant in Israel’s history because it is the site of the last encampment of the nation at the end of the wilderness wanderings just before crossing the Jordan into the Promised Land.

We are now to be in the Promised land.

Witches enjoy speaking in tongues.
Tibetan monks also find it edifying.

Likewise...
When tongues was an active gift in the early church age, it helped stabilize some who had not yet access to all the riches of the NT that was awaiting to be revealed.

It is not complicated.
But, then. It must be that way as long as we live in the Devil's world.

It is a matter of Truth over human emotional desire.

In Christ.....

Tongues are not for today....

They were to be a warning sign to the Jews who were rejecting Jesus Christ, and who would continue in their rejection.
It was like signs that were given to Pharaoh. Pharaoh rejected and did not repent.

Note..., t says, the sign was given to a specific people ("this people").
To whom?
To unbelieving Jews.

Brethren, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants,
but in your thinking be adults.
In the Law it is written:
“With other tongues
and through the lips of foreigners
I will speak to this people, (Israel)
but even then they will not listen to me,
says the Lord.”
Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers.

Paul, in essence, was saying that unbelieving Jews who were rejecting Jesus Christ in the face of tongues were just as bad as Pharaoh had been when presented the signs from God!

Not everyone can be caught up in the invisible power that grabs people into what were temporary gifts.
For not everybody can be hypnotized.
Hypnotists know this.
1 corinthians 14L39 So, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. are we to assume he was only speaking to the jews in this? Because it is the word of God and if it is written then it is for us to follow not some of the word of God not most of it all of it otherwise it is not his word because his word is to be taken in reverence and respect as if law

he goes on to speak on the gifts as well throuout the chapter and the one before that one too neither chapters indicate they were not for our benefit

1 Corinthians 14:37
If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is the Lord’s command.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-20
Do not extinguish the Spirit. / Do not treat prophecies with contempt,
…38But if anyone ignores this, he himself will be ignored
See it is easy to take scripture and make it say what we want this is why without context it is dangerous to build a belief on single verse you pull out of the chapter.

I can easily take bits and pieces of scripture and speak that way but as you can see that is simple to do but not the correct way of handling his word. ion the same manner we cannot also say this is for today and this is not because the word does not say that it says to earnestly seek such gifts as prophecy or tongues several times I might add in several of the books

Just telling you how it is for me concerning YOU. I would never trust your biblical understanding on anything ever. I believe you are as far away from the truth as wrong is from right.

What Paul wrote?
That was for at that time!

If they had ended by then?
Paul would have written something quite different.

This is why we must rightly handle the Word of God.
For there is a context of time involved.

That is what my relative said who loved speaking in tongues...

Who today would be considered by the family... mentally ill.

This not a game.

Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

When the Millennium ends, final Judgement has been completed, every soul in their eternal destination, there will be no need for prophecies because they will all have been completed, no need for tongues because we will all speak the Heavenly Language, no need for knowledge because we will know EVERYTHING.

However, LOVE, the Love of God will never ever end.

And besides it is the word of God you cannot just dismiss it because you think it was for a specific group or time that is throwing the word of God out the window we can pick and choose what to believe concerning it we can decide that it isn't speaking to us because it fits our narrative.

This is the issue with the word of God and people today we don';t really consider it his word or else we would never dare to just pick and choose what to believe or not.

And what indicates it was only for that time?
Corinthians was written at a time when 90% of the NT was not yet in writing.
The NT was "incomplete!"

Only, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, James, and maybe Matthew existed!
Not even 2 Corinthians!
All other NT books were awaiting to be revealed to the Church.

"Incomplete!"
