Any doctrine that supplants the indwelling of Christ as our guidance for life in the Spirit is Anti-Christ. The Father has entrusted all He has to the Son. It is only by the Son that we have life in Him. Lastly, scriptures must be understood spiritually for the words to bring life to the reader. If they are understood as a rule book or as wise teachings that is Anti-Christ.

Just to bring this closer to home. Denying the Jesus Christ indwells believers might sound like:
"The 10 Commandments are our guide for life."
or even
"Following the scriptures is what makes us holy."
or even
"If we don't get baptized into water the Lord is not in us."

To hopefully add some clarity to what John meant in that verse, it is my firm conviction that John was referring to the Christian gnostics of his day, who believed Christ didn't have a physical body because flesh was evil. I think most of 1 John is a rebuttal of their teachings, and when read in that light makes his letter make much more sense

With The Revelation of God that Jesus is The Christ and The Son of The Living God.
Therefore: Jesus in his 1 Body has 2 Roles.
1st Role being The Father (Christ or Savior)
2nd Role being The Son (Son of the Living God)

Let us take an Example of 2 Roles.
Mr. Robert Smith has wife name Linda Smith and daughter Candy Smith.

1st Role: Robert is the Husband of Linda.
2nd Role: Robert is the Father of Candy.

Since Our Lord Jesus is playing 2 Roles.
1st Role: The Role of Father
2nd Role: The Role of The Son.

In his Role as the Father, he made a promised to his disciples.
He said he said he will give the disciples a Comforter. And the Comforter is the Holy Ghost.
And he will come back for them.
JOHN 14:18
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Another promised.
When our Lord Jesus back, he will never leave is disciples anymore.
MATTHEW 28:20
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

When this promises of Our Lord Jesus Christ being fulfilled, that he will come back and never leave them anymore?
The promised of Our Lord Jesus Christ in his Role as the Father is being fulfilled in the day of Pentecost.
ACTS 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Yes, Jesus Christ in his Role as The Father, he came back in the form of The Holy Ghost.

the two are one, as like in an earth marriage, the two become one, Won for us to be in like flint and out like Alexander Monday
