I think some of the arguments against non-KJV bibles are disingenuous. I would never actually make this argument... but I could say something like.....
"The King James Bible makes Jesus out to be illiterate or LYING about what the scripture says!!!!"
LUKE4 KJV
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
IS:61 KJV
1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
"SEE!!! the KJV makes JESUS A LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!" "SEE MY BOLD CAPS!!!!!!!!!!! A LIAAAAARRRRRR!!!!"
Again.... I would never actually make this argument, because I took the time to research this.
So, when people read in other versions that Jesus said he wasn't going up to the feast; but then he does go up after- if you're reading that in faith; you already understand that Jesus does not lie. If I say "I am not going to dinner" at this moment- that's true. I'm not. I will be shortly; and then it won't be true if I say it then; but it was true when I said it.
