Oh Gary what must I do to be saved!!???
What must you do? Repent from your own understanding and receive His. Salvation is Gods Spirit MANIFEST in your mortal flesh. If you are trying to figure this out by intellect then you have overridden His way for you. Obedience is the only way to salvation and obedience is giving up the right to yourself, your self understanding, and entering into His understanding. Trust Him … His way is not your way. These things concerning His kingdom that is dark to you and lying in wait for some future event to happen then be assured there is something you are not willing to do, for if one has the mind of Christ there is no waiting to be had and you walk in the same light as He does.

What must you do to be saved? Give up the right to yourself and put on the Christ as Jesus did. Obeying what Gods says and be one with ME as He says and is Key to your salvation; it is in your hands and what you do with it. Gods purpose is that I depend on Him and on His power now, His purpose is for now this minute not for something in the future and obedience is the end to ones quest who is looking for the Christ. Receive in you what Jesus had in him, that is the only way you will see Gods salvation from yourself.

I have a good idea...

I know how I can obey every single thing that God says!

I can follow the written law!!!

Yes thats it! I can go to the old testament where God has written all the things that He expects from us and all the things that He hates...and if I follow every last law in that book right down to the last detail then I shall be saved!!

Hallelujah!

Thanks so much Gary for pointing me in the right direction. All this time I thought that faith in Christ was the way to salvation....that through faith by Gods grace He would save me from the fire and that by being baptized in the Holy Spirit, sanctification would happen in my life day to day and conform me as close as possible (in this vile flesh) to Jesus image.

What a load of PHOOEY that was!

OBEDIANCE...THATS THE KEY! Thats the direction everyone needs to concentrate on! We need to strive to become better and better in our OWN WORKS and only when we are perfect in thought and deed will the Father even consider saving us!

YAY!

Mosaic Law here I come!

Matt 7:21Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.

So do we have a part to play somewhat or Jesus lied to us?? Jesus said "he that does", God hasn't taken free will away

No, we dont have a part to play.

Our freewill decision to naturally be godly in our walk is a direct result of the Holy Spirit working in us. We dont have to worry about obeying God. It will happen, because we have fallen in love with Christ. Head over heels.

God chose us to salvation and our lives are HIS workmanship not our own.

The entire Gospel can be boiled down to this:

(Ephesians 2:4) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

(Ephesians 2:5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

(Ephesians 2:6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

(Ephesians 2:7) That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

(Ephesians 2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

(Ephesians 2:9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

(Ephesians 2:10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Even though it is Christ that works through us, and we can do nothing in ourselves it is still us who must allow Him to work in us therefore partnering with Christ cleansing ourself from all unrightouesness
1st Corinthians 15
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

2nd Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Galtians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lust.

Philippians 2
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

1st John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

See even though it is Christ that works in us, but it is we who must remain stedfast, crucify our flesh, making manifest our Savior, working out our own salvation, purifying ourselves, cleansing ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God, making ourselves ready for our Bridegroom King.
We dont have to worry about obeying God. It will happen, because we have fallen in love with Christ. Head over heels.
This is true. I wish you would live this out

No man can make himself pure by obeying laws. Jesus Christ does not give us rules and regulations -- His teachings are truths that can only be interpreted by the disposition He puts in. Jesus Christ's salvation is that He alters heredity and does not alter human nature he alters its mainspring. His disposition in you is not about obeying laws, it is about receiving in you what Jesus had in him, giving to you what he had.

You are trying salvation by obeying laws and as I said no man makes himself pure by obeying laws but only by Gods Spirit be in you, same as He was in Jesus. The law is for those who do not know His way, the law is only a tutorial, schoolmaster, to lead you to Christ, once faith is obtained then one is no longer under that tutorial, schoolmaster, law. Christ in you is the only way you will understand what it means to be pure.

Your verses say we DO THOSE THINGS.

Not we NEED TO TRY AND DO THEM.

We dont need pious workhorses like you telling us to do them coz we are already there!

Sure, no prob doc, I understand not works, religious etc etc can't earn grace or salvation

Not we NEED TO TRY AND DO THEM.
Right trying is not good enough soing is what must be done

We dont need pious workhorses like you telling us to do them coz we are already there!
You are far from there, and your pride has blinded you.

Philippians 3
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

Put the Christ on?? We can't be Christ...
Yes put on the same SPirit in you Jesus had in him. Christ simply means to be anointed of God, Christ in you, same anointing in you. Christ is not a man Christ is Gods Spirit in the man.

Beating bushes? Na ,just a little misquoting or misunderstanding on your part. Try reading really really slow and think before you comment, you might discover something that you didn’t know -- mainly the Christ in you. Humm!!! Christ in you!!! what a novel Idea. Bet ya never read that one or thought on that huh? I wonder what would have been written if God wanted Christ in you to be your hope of glory? Any idea?
Well I guess some just can’t learn or just not willing to learn what it means Christ in you, same Spirit in you who was in Christ Jesus, same mind, the mind of Christ, walk as he walks, be ye therefore perfect even as your Father n heaven is perfect, walk in the light as He is in the light, all those things that are intended for YOU. Gosh do you believe anything that you read in the book? Do you read it at all, better yet, do you follow anything it says for you to be?

I dunno what your trying to teach...its sounds gnostic.

Scripture says we are baptized with the Holy Spirit when we believe in Jesus. It's pretty simple.

So do you have anything to add?

Do you want me to do summink extra?

Even the Devil believes in Jesus but that dosent mean he has in him what Jesus had in him at all. If you are not as he is and has what he had, then you don’t know him at all. You can say you know Jesus but it is another matter to really know him and have what he had. You say you know him but it is by your laws which dictate to him what you want him to be. As I said it is another matter to have in you what he had in him. That is the only way you will truly know him is to have what he had.
