Hey Everyone,

What's new?!

Literally! :D

A few weeks ago, I saw a new coffee flavor in the store and, after going back to look at it twice, finally couldn't resist:

Now, I'm not particularly into Starbucks coffee at all, but this had all the features to pull me in:

1. Colorful, pretty packaging that I am a total sucker for.

2. A unique flavor I'd never tried or even heard of.

3. It was on sale! (And this is what really cinched the deal for me, as I generally don't buy novel things unless they're marked down!)

And so... as I brewed up a pot in my faithful little 4-cup Mr. Coffee coffeemaker...

The aroma was unique, and definitely drew me in. I doctored it up with all my usual fixings (powdered milk as creamer and stevia as a sweetener,) took a sip and...

It's funny how our sense of taste and smell are so connected. I like the scent of lavender if it's not too strong, but to me, drinking this coffee oddly reminded me of times when I would babysit and use Baby Magic Lavender Scented Lotion on the kids I was watching!

So to me, the first cup of this coffee tasted like drinking lavender-scented baby lotion -- ugh!

But the thing is... By the third day, it didn't seem so bad. By the end of the week, I was liking it. And while I don't know if I'd buy it again (only if it was on sale!) I'm enjoying it a whole lot more than when I tried that first cup.

How about you? Is there anything you've tried lately -- and how did it go, or how do you expect it to go?

* Are there any new games, foods, restaurants, hobbies, etc. you've tried?

* What about recipes, plants for your garden (I've cleared up space to add several more victims, er, I mean, plants to try keeping alive,) or maybe a new gadget or tool?

* Are there any particular new projects you're planning -- or dreading -- for school?

With Spring just around the corner, I'd like to hear about anything new it might be inspiring in your life. :)

Heh, lavender flavoured coffee??? I would try it if it was purple LOL!!!

But like you, the floral flavour and even the vanilla, ugh, they would make that coffee a no-go zone for me.

I found Justin's peanut butter cups and promptly tried them.

I've known Justin for a while. His peanut butter and almond butter are great. So I was fairly confident about this purchase. And Justin didn't let me down. His peanut butter cups are great too.

I'll stick with black coffee from my Keurig. Currently drinking Newman's Own. My wife likes all sorts of flavored coffees but probably not floral Lavender.

Never heard of them. Does Walmart stock those. Might give them a go.

Never seen them at Walmart, at least not around here. This seems like the kind of thing Publix would carry or something. But I can't verify that because we don't have one of those places here.

A quick Google turns them up on Amazon and Target. I don't know if your local Target carries them though.

I got the dark chocolate ones, but Google says they also make milk chocolate ones... That is, if you're not man enough to handle the dark chocolate ones. :p

Hey great thread topic!

I tried a honey lavender latte at a local coffee shop awhile back and loved it! Now I really enjoy lavender flavored drinks. Before I pretty much only thought of it as a lotion scent or an essential oil.

I started sunflowers from seed this year, that's a new one for me! The only other time we had sunflowers that I remember is when we used goat manure for fertilizer and had some volunteer sunflowers lol. I guess their feed had sunflower seeds in it.

Something else very new for me is something I mentioned in your other thread about Joann's. The sewing class I'm teaching is definitely New and a little out of my comfort zone! I think that kinda thing is in my nature, but I don't have a lot of experience teaching so it's a little scary. But I praise the Lord it's going really well.

Oh something else lol! This morning my sister and I went fishing with my dad in the nearby creek. Although fishing isn't new for me (I grew up in Alabama near the coast and we used to go fishing a lot in the bay), I don't think I've ever gone fishing in a creek. But it was really cool, I caught 4 bass! Lol.

I'll hope you'll keep us posted on how the sewing classes go.

If I lived in the area, I would definitely sign up!

The small town that I live in does not have a local Target. Nearest on is in Knoxville about a 100 miles away.

Starting to miss Florida. Actually, most days I miss Florida. I used to be a southern big city boy but now live in Hicksville (not the real name but you get the picture). Oh well, my wife loves it here so that's a plus.

Cheaper than Florida too. Lot cheaper. I don't miss the traffic congestion, non-stop police sirens, and gun shots in the night either. Yeah, no hurricanes either. Been through 4 of those.

On second thought, it's not so bad if you think about it.

I try not to overthink things.

If Johnson City isn't big enough for you, there's Kingsport right next door. Surely that will satisfy.

Me, I like to live in a small town that is close to a big city. So, mosheim.

The food, drink or snack, that I see the most “new” versions of, are candy…it seems like they come up with new shapes, sizes and sometimes brands, all the time.

It literally had me buying new candy all the time cause I wanted to try every new one, each company made.

Surprisingly, I went to the dentist recently, after not being there for over a year and had no cavities. I also came up with a bad habit of barely brushing my teeth that whole time.

Strange how when you are on a strict keto diet, with no sugar in your diet, you have a bunch of cavities, root and gum issues but when you literally eat like crap again, your mouth is pristine.

I don’t understand God or this world sometimes.
