Nothing better than topping your food with fried onions or shishito peppers.
Oyster mushrooms are a good contender to bacon and Pink oyster mushrooms are said to taste similar to bacon. Grey Oyster mushroom are easy to grow in cool and luckily if you live in a climate with hot summers pink oyster likes that.

I'm not real big on bacon so I'll have to say avocados are better.
I wouldn't normally say this, but you DID ask. Usually I keep it to myself because, as you said, people get very uptight about their bacon.

Or should we change the names to bakies and cookon?
I think we should just change the names. People get REAL uptight about their cookon. If you try to make them bake it in the oven you gonna have a fight on your hands.

You've brought up a very valid point.
Most Christian groups I've been around believe the dietary laws of the OT were lifted in the NT after Jesus fulfilled the law. I apologize that I don't have the time to look up all the usual passages given, but here's an article I found:

Another popular food I don't hear much debate about is shrimp. I believe that was banned in the OT as well, but I don't hear many Christians saying they can't eat shrimp (though of course, some choose not to for various reasons.)
I was asking my small group about the regulations, and one person mentioned Acts 1, in which the Jewish council sent out a letter saying the Gentiles who converted to Christianity did not have to follow the OT dietary laws.
Paul also speaks about making dietary choices in the NT that won't offend others, whether choosing to eat (so as not to offend a host) or choosing not to eat (so as not to offend those in your company.)
I know some religious groups believe that pork or pig meat of any kind is still forbidden, so if you believe God has convicted you in this way, then yes, absolutely -- the best choice in that case would be to refrain.

Some rules were made for a certain time. Rules about incest for example - Abraham didn't need them because our genetic code was newer and clearer back then. But we do need them now because our code is getting a bit ragged.
The time for dietary laws is past because we know about bacteria and the proper temperature to kill them. If God had explained such things to people with no microscopes or thermometers, or even a temperature scale, they would not have understood. So He just told them don't eat this or that.
Of course pigs ARE quite disgusting animals and you are not really doing yourself any harm by avoiding eating pork. So I'm not saying you SHOULD eat it. I'm just saying there is no reason to require anybody else to not eat it.
There's also the part in the Bible about if you do something that is perfectly okay, but you think it is a sin, then it IS a sin because you did something you thought was wrong. So there is no profit at all in trying to talk you into eating a ham sandwich, and there might be harm in the argument...

I voted for MORE bacon and cheeseburger with bacon. Currently, I'm trending with thick sliced Applewood smoked bacon.

That's a tough one, but since I'm a caffeine addict I would probably go with Folgers. I used to drink Taster's Choice but preferred ground coffee over instant, preferably in pods but I use my Mr. Coffee (drip brew) once a week, and my Keurig every day. Currently trending towards Newman's Own pods, but like Gevalia too.I'm just wondering if it would matter what kind of coffee...
