I think we're missing Ramon's point. Don't be deceived friends. Every holiday celebrates something. Halloween is a pagan holiday promoting Satanism, idolatry, witchcraft, sorcery, necromancy, and the occult. None of these things should exist in the life of a Christian! They are spiritually dangerous, and should be avoided at all costs. What does the Bible have to say about the idea of Halloween, and the activities often associated with this pagan festival? I refer you to Deuteronomy 18:9-13: Deuteronomy 18:9-13 - "When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations (idolatry) of those nations (pagans). There shall NOT be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer (those who talk with the spirits of the dead). For ALL that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be upright with the LORD thy God."
Final note: Did you know that October 31st is considered by Satanists and other occult following adults to be one of their most important days of the year? It’s true! And Halloween has the highest crime rate of any day of the year. Why do you think that is? Because it's a celebration of spiritual darkness.
So please don't give glory to the Devil by actively participating in this pagan festival. Give Glory to God Alone through Jesus Christ and the Father of Light!

How is reading fantasy a sin? Maybe some fantasy is too dark spiritually for a Christian to morally read, but certainly not Narnia. Harry Potter though... definately on the dark side. Sorcery is real and very evil. I know two people who regret having been trapped in that. It's not only dangerous, but it's a sin. And it's no wonder considering the power of sorcery comes from demons.

There was a man who taught out of books of sorcery, who had seduced many people to follow him, as if he were someone great. But then holy men came into town, with power from on High, and these people forsook these Sorcerers and REPENTED and followed Jesus. Being baptized with the Holy Ghost afterwards.

Fantasy is fantasy. There are fantasy books/movies that certainly aren't okay, but not just based on the genre itself.
Explain to me how Harry Potter is darker than Narnia.
Yeah, if you've got it in your head that witchcraft is chill, then you probably stay away from it.
But I know the difference, and when I watch Harry Potter I see good triumphing over evil, the power of friendship and love. What's so dark about that?

No matter what you want to think, Ramon is absolutely right! No less experts than the Apostle, Paul, and Christ Himself, admonished us that we cannot be "of the world" and "of the Kingdom" too.
The danger of the Harry Potter stories, in particular, is that they blur the line between good and evil. According to J. K. Dowling, there is a nebulous supernatural force out there that is neither good nor bad; it depends solely on who is using it. The implication is clear. There is no God and there is no devil. Man is not innately evil. All the things that fly in the face of Christian teachings.
This is not necessarily dangerous, in and of itself. However, when a child decides that he or she wants to" be a wizard", that child has subconsciously accepted the premises of the author. Like everything else, the secular world has done a lot better job of indoctrination than we have.
If your kids read the Harry Potter series, did you sit down with them and point out how the premises differed from what they were learning in Sunday School?
