Well, hopefully you will understand me when you live long enough to gain such wisdom,
but the reason you don't get my jokes is because they are sick.
You seem to have a fetish about the military, but FYI I was just told
I believe in the Orthodox doctrine of theosis.

Anything is up to discussion when you present a point, such as military.
It's not a fetish to talk about the military while your whole life is defined by the military (like my parents) and you have a hard time to discuss things in a non-military fashion.

As far as doctrines go, i told you before that the American Baptist Church seems to be more closely aligned to what i believe in, so i'm happy too see this unity that you want to achieve but my tolerance level is not 100% like your military style.
I'm happy to find agreement with 1 out of 10 points and then with baby steps we may go to 2 out of 10.
But with the Baptist Church i'm like 9 out of 10 when i read the statement of faith from the Baptist Church website which i posted a few months ago.

So it's good news basically and this calls for another coffee so we can rejoice.

Well, I try to be a good soldier of Christ (2Tim. 2:3-4), and I am glad you agree with most Baptist beliefs,
which may be more than I do at this point, because in addition to OSAS I also think other statements could be improved,
which is why I compiled the 5-point creed I share all over the place.

Exactly, do not forbid others to speak in languages, but not unknown languages. That wouldn't benefit anyone. If there are some in the congregation that speak another language, do not forbid someone to speak to them in their language.

But why would you forbid anyone from speaking in another language?

That does not make sense.

Speaking in a language that the audience does not understand only benefits the person speaking and God. It's of no benefit to anyone else.

But no one is going to think your mad if your speaking another language?

1 Corinthians 14:23
Therefore if the whole church assembles together and all speak in tongues, and ungifted men
or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are mad?

People speak in other languages all the time.

Why would someone who walks into the church think you are mad?

As I stated, Paul is speaking of man in general.

That is where you are painfully mistaken. You have been taught an interpretation of Romans
that ignores the context.

You are not alone in the way you read Romans.

I am in a small but growing minority.

17 But if you bear the name “Jew” and rely upon the Law and boast in God.

24 For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.

Paul is speaking directly to the Jews in Rome, 'because of you'.

I know you can read what I just wrote and you are in denial of the obvious.

I would say, not to a Jew, but about a Jew.

No, speaking to the Jews directly.

In the text below, 'you', is second-person plural possessive pronoun.

Not a Jew but the plural, JEWS!

Romans 2
24 For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.

Your trying to tell me that, 'God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you', is not Paul talking
directly to the Jews?

What can I do to change your mind?

Here’s a good question? Why was death and burial necessary before resurrection? That’s just the way God chose to do it. But why does God wait for death and burial before He resurrects something? Frustrating

The meaning of the word, 'resurrection', in the scripture, is from death.

Mwhaaaaaaa.

Which Baptist Church are you talking about?

Hope the following verse is in your five points.

1 Corinthians 4:20
For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.

You can't describe an eternal Spirit in words but you can feel the limitless power of the Holy Spirit!

Look goobers, I know all the freakin scriptures on death burial and resurrection. I was asking WHY God CHOSE to do it that way. My gosh, stop throwing scriptures at me. I guess I should have said, “why does God make some Christians illiterate?”

You have not encountered my proposed creed yet? Here it is so you can check it for yourself:

The normative way of stating the kerygma/GRFS in the NT is “Accept Christ Jesus as Lord” (as in 2Cor. 4:5 & Col. 2:6). The main points of Christian orthodoxy implicit in this statement can be explained or elaborated as follows:
  1. There is a/one all-loving and just Lord or God (Deut. 6:4, John 3:16, 2Thes. 1:6), who is both able (2Tim. 1:12) and willing (1Tim. 2:3-4, Ezek. 33:11) to provide all morally accountable human beings salvation or heaven—a wonderful life full of love, joy and peace forever.
  2. Human beings are selfish or sinful (Rom. 3:23, 2Tim. 3:2-4, Col. 3:5), miserable (Gal. 5:19-21), and hopeless (Eph. 2:12) or hell-bound at the judgment (Matt. 23:33 & 25:46) when they reject God’s salvation (John 3:18, Rom. 2:5-11).
  3. Jesus is God’s Messiah/Christ and incarnate Son, the way that God has chosen (John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31, Phil. 2:9-11) of providing salvation by means of his atoning death on the cross for the payment of the penalty for the sins of humanity (Rom. 3:22-25 & 5:9-11), followed by his resurrection to reign in heaven (1Cor. 15:14-28).
  4. Thus, every person who hears the NT Gospel needs to repent and accept God’s justification in Jesus as Christ/Messiah the Lord or Supreme Commander (Luke 2:11, John 14:6, Acts 16:31), which means trying to obey His commandment to love one another (Matt. 22:37-40, John 13:35, Rom. 13:9)—forever (Matt. 10:22, Psa. 113:2).
  5. Then God’s Holy Spirit will establish a saving relationship with those who freely accept/love Him (Rev. 3:20) that will eventually achieve heaven when by means of persevering in learning Truth/God’s Word/sanctification everyone cooperates fully with His will (John 14:6, 17&26, Rom. 8:6-17, Gal. 6:7-9, Eph. 1:13-14, Heb. 10:36, 12:1, Jam. 1:2-4).
Do you see the HS's power indicated in #5?

As I asked Dino246.

How does this affect the assertion of people today who claim to be Biblical Jews?

The ancient Jew–Samaritan conflict revolved around lineage, scripture, place of worship, and religious legitimacy. Modern debates among those who claim to be “Biblical Jews” echo similar themes:
  • Who has the true heritage of Israel?
  • What scriptures and practices are authoritative?
  • Who decides who is “in” or “out” of the covenant?

While the historical, cultural, and political contexts differ, the core issues of identity, authority, and authenticity remain surprisingly similar.

Look goobers, I know all the freakin scriptures on death burial and resurrection. I was asking WHY God CHOSE to do it that way. My gosh, stop throwing scriptures at me. I guess I should have said, “why does God make some Christians illiterate?”
So... who is the REAL goober here? The folks that try to honestly answer a question the only way they know how, or the twit that asks a question that presumes that any of us mortal human beings KNOW why Almighty God chooses to do something a certain way?

In chapter 2, although it is not explicitly written down, yes, it is obvious that the Jews are being addressed, generally speaking. The conclusion of this chapter and beginning of chapter three make that very clear. This chapter is generally speaking concerning any man, lost or saved. It is not addressing the believers at Rome, but giving them a proper perspective of Jew and Gentile.
