Even when there's no cartilage left and it's nothing but bone on bone they still call it arthritis.
For knees they can do knee replacement, it's still not as good as the original equipment God gave you...but it will get you mobile again for ten years until it wears out.
Maybe, they have newer stuff for knee replacement. Better sizing, better materials, better and shorter recovery times.
They also have a silicon gel for knees.
For ankles?
Only experimental joint replacement....50/50 success/failure rates and when they fail they amputate and you get a prosthetic.
Hips joints can be replaced too.
Hands, fingers, elbows, shoulders, backs? Pain relievers....that's it other than LOW EFFECT home remedies.
And...rethinking how you do things....it's about joint preservation at this point. Try not to bend your joints repetitively. (Peeling vegetables, cutting produce, or whatever)
Not moving at all?
That's the MOST painful "remedy". You need exercise to get blood flow to the joints to effect whatever healing your body can provide. Just do low impact things. It won't ever be perfectly healthy again....but it can have less pain and be a functioning part of your body.
