What kind of humbleness that God wants to the people so that they will be rewarded?

Our Lord Jesus showed in his time among the Jews who has the answer for #1 and for #2.

When Our Lord Jesus entered in the Temple angrily he drove out those selling sheep, oxen and money changer.

Then he said Destroy this Temple and in 3 days I will build it again.
JOHN 2:19
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Scribes and Pharisees because they don't know who God the Father is (John 8:54-55). Their belief that Our Lord Jesus is not Speaking in Parables. It is clearly to their understanding that he is talking about the literal Temple. So they answered him.

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

But the Disciples of Our Lord, at first they understand is the literal physical Temple too.

Jesus, answered Peter and said feed my sheep! Is that the Church? or people in general as led to do from Father leading us, us listening and discerning truth over error? (Matthew 10:16-20) as did Jesus by Father's lead. I do nothing or say anything unless Father tells me. Think this might be passed onto us all to believe God and learn from God 1 John 2:27. Let the Old Ways die daily by humbling ourselves, beg and ask for Jesus Mercy.

This is what Paul wished and he thanks Lord Jesus that Paul Old Ways is dying daily.
