Why do you ask? Who, in your circle of friends and family, that you are praying for and ministering to, are “dead faiths”? Have you already prayer the prayer of salvation with them? What happened when you did?How many times can those of dead faith choose to accept Jesus and be saved?
Most of my relatives seem to hate God. God will judge them. Why do you ask? Who, in your circle of friends and family, that you are praying for and ministering to, are “dead faiths”? Have you already prayer the prayer of salvation with them? What happened when you did?
Intersection became intersectional and transitioned into Solitude. Unfortunately he didn’t transition into absence.
What?! God placed them into your life to pray for them. What is wrong with you? Most of my relatives seem to hate God. God will judge them.
I never said I never prayed for them. What?! God placed them into your life to pray for them. What is wrong with you?
So.. why are you made at God? I would imagine we’ve all been mad at God. Anyone who says they haven’t been is lying. Most of my relatives seem to hate God. God will judge them.
You haven't given me a good reason to be mad at God.So.. why are you made at God? I would imagine we’ve all been mad at God. Anyone who says they haven’t been is lying.
Hmm, well, you’ve talked about judgement, God getting your unbelieving relatives, people with dead faith, etc. Sure, you’re arrogant, but… is that all it is? Kind of boring if that’s it, and nothing more. You haven't given me a good reason to be mad at God.
Accept GOD as your Lord and Saviour. Surrender to him to come into your life to take control and direct your path. What must a man, woman or child do to be saved?
We see why in Acts 13 - And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter, 14 who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.’ 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. 16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17 If therefore God gave them the same gift (Holy Spirit) as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?” 18 When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance unto life.” It's just as I told you in post #53 - Faith in Jesus Christ "implied in genuine repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18). *Perfect Harmony*
I already summed it up for you.
You are full of questions but no answers. See Acts 15:7 - And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Paul asked this question in verse 2, assuming they may have believed, yet their answer demonstrates they have not yet believed - “we have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” Paul further asked, "into what then were you baptized? They said, “into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in Him who would come after him, that is, in Christ Jesus Christ.” When they heard this, they were afterwards baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. There would have been no need to re-baptize them if they had already believed in Jesus Christ unto salvation. These disciples of John needed further instructions to become believers in Christ Jesus then afterwards, they received the Holy Spirit after Paul laid hands on them (which is an exception and not the rule in every case of conversion).
I'm sure you would like to get Acts 10:43 out of the way since that verse proves faith remits sins which does not accommodate your biased church doctrine.
In Acts 10:43, these Gentiles believed in Him and immediately following they received the Holy Spirit, so they were born of water and the Spirit prior to receiving water baptism. Now you saying that you don't believe we have to be born of water and of spirit to enter because in verse 43 they did not received the Holy Ghost or was baptized.
Believed, received the Holy Spirit, reborn BEFORE water baptism. Now your saying they were reborn AFTER they received the Holy Ghost in verse 44-45 but before they were baptized.
They received the Holy Spirit immediately upon believing and were reborn BEFORE water baptism.Again you are say they were reborn after they believed and received the Holy GHost.
Why is this so hard for you to figure out? They believed, received the Holy Spirit and were reborn BEFORE water baptism. (Acts 10:43-47) It's crystal clear.I'm not going to get into the how to be baptized or the trinity because I'm just trying to figure out why you think they were reborn without being baptized or receiving the Holy Ghost.
The evidence is overwhelming that these Gentles believed, received the gift of the Holy Spirit, spoke in tongues, magnified God, and were saved and a part of the body of Christ BEFORE they were water baptized. Certain Jews may have wanted to forbid them from being baptized because of their unacceptance of the Gentiles, but Peter clearly states that SURELY NO ONE CAN REFUSE. These Gentiles were clearly SAVED BEFORE WATER BAPTISM, and the Holy Spirit was proof of this. Why would you say they believed and received remission of sin THAT IS WHAT I WAN'T YOU TO PROVE OR ANSWER before they received the Holy Ghost.
No, that is not what I'm now saying. There is not more to it than believing. When we believe we receive remission of sins. (Acts 10:43) When we believe the gospel we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. (Ephesians 1:13) To die with Him and rise to walk in newness of life is signified but not procured in water baptism. Paul explains what gospel saves in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. That is the gospel we are to believe in order to be saved. (Romans 1:16)Now you saying there is more to it then just believing and of course your right, when we get baptized in JESUS name we DIE WITH HIM which we would not do that if we didn't believe in his death, burial and resurrection. Eph 1 just like I asked you about 1 Cor 15 what gospel is Paul speaking of? Again what gospel did you hear which lead to your salvation?
So you now admit that Jesus fills us before baptism in Acts 2 and 10? In Acts 8 and 19, these were unique situations in which the Holy Spirit was delayed until the apostles laid hands on them. This act was part of the apostolic authority and the unity of the early church which was being established across cultural lines. The Jews for example were hostile towards the Samaritans.Again now you saying that we believe and received the Holy Ghost and we are saved then we get baptized. It's is not true that, that is the same pattern. JESUS fills us when he wants Acts 2 and 10 before they were baptiaed, Acts 8 and 19 after they were baptized.
You are "adding" water baptism to the text. Believing is our part and us becoming reborn is God's part. Now you saying you do believe what JESUS says the we need BOTH to be reborn? Note: I'm not interpreting a text just sharing it.
Simply believing in God is not enough to save. Even the demons believe in God, but they are not saved either. We must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ in order to be saved. (Acts 10:43; 11:17; 16:31) Do you not understand the difference? That does not explain the question, since they believed in GOD why wasn't they reborn then?
I answered your questions.AMEN so that answered all 4 questions?
I have no eisegesis here, only exegesis. You talk about MY eisegesis and here you are with your eisegesis.
Because saved believers only need to be water baptized once and they had not yet believed in Jesus unto salvation. Why would you say "There would have been no need to re-baptize them if they had already believed in Jesus Christ unto salvation.
I'm not questioning what Paul did. These disciples of John needed to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus and on hearing this, they were afterwards baptized. Paul knows what we must do in order to be saved and it was stated in Acts 16:31, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household (if they also believe). Nothing there about baptism, which followed. (Acts 16:33)Why do you question what Paul did? Do you know better then Paul? Paul knows how we are suppose to be baptized and he was just follow what JESUS showed him what we must do.
They were saved in Acts 10:43 when they believed in Him and received remission of sins. Receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit is not something we do but what God does. We don't baptize ourselves by one Spirit into one body. The Holy Spirit does.Your the one who said they were saved in Acts 10:43 and nothing else is necessary and still did not answer it.
Yes and water is not baptism. You said you believe what JESUS said in John 3:5, CAN'T enter without BOTH.
So, what Peter said in Acts 10:43 is not true? Whoever believes in Him receives remission of sins is a lie from Satan? What other requirements on our part do you see mentioned in Acts 10:43 along with "believes in Him" that causes us to have our sins remitted? You said "since that verse (10:43) proves faith remits sins" IS A LIE FROM SATAN. How does that prove it?
I already proved my point. You just don't have eyes to see or ears to hear.Unless you can prove it? That is the question I am asking of you.
All we need to do on our part. We believe which results in receiving remission of sins (our part) and then we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit does the rest. That is not flip flopping. You are trying to be cunning but it's not working. In your response you flip flopped, first you say all you need to do is believe, then you say you need to believe and receive the Holy Ghost.
Not at all. Whoever believes in Him (our part) receives remission of sins. (Acts 10:43) That is our part in getting rid of our sins and the Holy Spirit does the rest. (John 3:5; John 4:10,14; 7:37-39; Titus 3:5) You are making this out to be much more complicated than it really is.You are saying people can be saved without getting rid of their sins.
Believing in Him is our part in receiving remission of sins and becoming reborn and the Holy Spirit immediately causes us to receive remission of sins and regenerates us. I'm not saying we believe in Him and the Holy Spirit does nothing after that and we simply remit our own sins and regenerate ourselves with power that we do not have. Again, you are making this out to be much more complicated than it really is.The quesiion still remains WHY DO YOU SAY THEY WERE REBORN IN VERSE 10:43???
You seem to be absolutely obsessed with speaking in tongues. In Acts 2:4, being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues here was for the purpose of the multitude that came together from different regions of the world to hear the gospel message in their own language. (Acts 2:6-12) This supernatural event allowed the apostles to proclaim the gospel to a diverse audience in their native tongues and authenticate that this miraculous event was from God. The result was about 3,000 people being added to their number that day. (Acts 2:41) Now why would I receive the Holy Spirit in the same manner? I wasn't alive during Pentecost. The purpose of the gift of tongues here was evangelistic and was not for self-promotion or personal edification.I don't think you will ever answer the question did you received the Holy Ghost like in acts 2:4 or 19:6 since you have belived?
Accept GOD as your Lord and Saviour. Surrender to him to come into your life to take control and direct your path.

Do you believe "receives remission of sins" = still lost or saved? If we receive remission of sins then we are saved and those who believe in Him receive remission of sounds. (Acts 10:43) Simple.I really trying to figure out how to keep this simple and you with scripture show me where in Acts 10:43 they were saved.
Correct. These disciples of John received John's baptism but still needed to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus. (Acts 19:3-4)You say,
Because saved believers only need to be water baptized once and they had not yet believed in Jesus unto salvation.
I'm not saying that nobody can be filled with the Holy Spirit today. Now although all believers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon conversion, not all believers are filled and speak in tongues.I sure do agree that JESUS is the one who fills us but it still happens today.
Shall, will upon believing.Peter said if you believe you SHALL receive remission of sin NOT YOU DO receive remission of sins.
Immediate future/immediate reception of forgiveness of sins.shall, meaning
1. (in the first person) expressing the future tense.
"this time next week I shall be in Scotland"
2. expressing a strong assertion or intention.
I'm not out to prove Peter wrong. I'm out to properly harmonize scripture with scripture before reaching my conclusion on doctrine. There are no contradictions in God's word. What you are up against is the first message on how to be saved, you need to prove Peter wrong.
In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is parenthetical. This is exactly what Acts 3:19 teaches except that Peter omits the parenthesis.Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Yes, how to get rid of sins is very clear. Faith in Jesus Christ "implied in genuine repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17-18; 13:38-39; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18) *Perfect Harmony*Notice how to get rid of sins are very clear.
Notice the PROMISE of receiving the Holy Ghost is FOR ALL and you SHALL receive it, as we know some get it before being baptised some after BUT BAPTISM WAS A FACT IN EVERY CASE.
Because Peter clearly said, whoever believes in Him receives remission of sins. When will you believe?Questions, 1. So why do you say they were saved in verse 10:43?
It says those who believe will receive remission of sins and those who receive remission of sins are saved. Simple.2. Where does it say that they were saved or and they received remission of sins in Acts 10:43??
Immediate future upon believing.3. If in Acts 10 they shall receive remission of sins, when did they get rid of them?
It's not water baptism. Jesus connects living water with everlasting life and the Holy Spirit. (John 4:10,14; 7:37-39) Water is also used in scripture as an emblem of the word God, in which it is associated with cleansing or washing. (John 15:3; Ephesians 5:26). What is the water that JESUS mentions in John 3:5?
Water baptism is a symbol of salvation in that it pictures Christ's death, burial and resurrection and our identification with Him in these experiences.5. What is the purpose of water baptism?
Believes in Hin/receives remission of sins/by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things/the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. (Acts 10:43; 13:38-39; Roman 1:16) Do you need the specific words "unto salvation" spelled out for you in scripture in order for you to figure out that "receives remission of sins" and "justified from all things" and "the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes" is unto salvation? This is not hard to understand. It's just hard for you to accept.6. Is there ANY CHANCE you can show me where we "believed in Jesus unto salvation."
Do you believe "receives remission of sins" = still lost or saved? If we receive remission of sins then we are saved and those who believe in Him receive remission of sounds. (Acts 10:43) Simple.

In Acts 10:43, we read ..whoever believes in Him receives remission of sins. Again, these Gentiles received the gift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 10:45 - when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ - Acts 11:17 - (compare with Acts 16:31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved) BEFORE water baptism - Acts 10:47. This is referred to as repentance unto life - Acts 11:18.
