@Daisy2 Thank you for all of these wonderful excerpts from this book! My husband is of the invalidating type, and I'm sure at times I am as well. I am feeling much more prepared to conversate with him. You are a help to us all:)

Very true:) I love my Husband and understand that at times when hes acting harsh, hes just traumatized. He was raised by a narcissist, so of course hes going to gain some of those tendencies. I do not look down on myself in the way that he does at times. And most of the time hes very sweet, caring and encouraging. Even when he is rude I look at it as his fault, not mine, unless ive done something to genuinely merit critique.

Violence against women is rising sharply in Germany, with a woman killed by a partner or ex-partner nearly every two days. In 2023, 360 women were murdered by men, 155 by intimate partners, according to the Federal Criminal Police Office. Activists warn that a promised anti-domestic violence law is stalled in government discussions, leaving victims without adequate protection.
Germany faces a severe shortage of 14,000 shelter spaces for women and children, far below the Council of Europe's recommendations. Funding is fragmented, decided at state and local levels, leading to overcrowded facilities that fill within hours.
Many women who do not qualify for social benefits must pay for their stay in shelters themselves, a cost that forces some to return to unsafe homes. Directors say added staff and free protection measures are urgently needed to prevent further deaths.
Police warn women face the highest risk of being killed after a separation, with many offenders described as aggressive, controlling, and jealous.

In the UK, violence against women and girls (VAWG) is recognized as a national emergency, with an estimated 10.6% of people aged 16 and over experiencing at least one type of crime such as domestic abuse, sexual assault, or stalking in the year ending March 2025. This includes 12.8% of women and 8.4% of men, equating to around 5.1 million people (3.2 million women and 2.0 million men). The government is actively working to halve VAWG within a decade through new strategies, increased specialist support, and additional police officers in communities. Despite these efforts, audits have highlighted little improvement in outcomes so far, and repeat victimization remains a significant concern, especially for women who face higher severity and frequency of abuse.

Regarding female homicides in the UK, approximately three women are killed every week, with about 1.5 of these killings perpetrated by a current or former partner, reflecting the ongoing serious nature of gender-based violence

  • In the UK, women face a disproportionately high risk of violent crime, especially domestic abuse. About 7.8% of people aged 16+ (around 3.8 million) experienced domestic abuse in the last year, the majority being women.
  • Women represent over 80% of high-frequency victims of domestic abuse and similar crimes.
  • Approximately three women are killed every week in England and Wales, with about 1.5 killed weekly by a current or former partner. Almost all perpetrators in domestic homicides of women are male.
  • Children, especially girls, are vulnerable victims of violence as well, with calls for urgent action to protect young females from violence and abuse.
  • In the U.S., men are more frequent victims of violent crime overall, but women face higher risks of severe gender-specific crimes like rape and intimate partner homicide. In 2020, over 3,100 women were killed by men in the U.S., highlighting similar gender violence issues.
This highlights the urgent need for targeted protection, support, and prevention focused on women and children facing violence and abuse

In 2023, Italy saw over 100 women killed, more than half by current or former partners. The issue gained national attention in November when 22-year-old Giulia Cecchettin, a biomedical engineering student at the University of Padua, was murdered a week before her graduation. Her ex-boyfriend, Filippo Turetta, left her body in a ditch. Tens of thousands joined protests and memorials, and her funeral drew more than 10,000 attendees.

Giulia’s sister, Elena, called Turetta not a “monster” but “the healthy son of a patriarchal society,” while her father linked the crime to systemic misogyny. In December 2024, Turetta was sentenced to life in prison (maximum 30 years in Italy). The Cecchettin family founded a foundation to combat gender-based violence, criticizing the government’s limited response and denial of patriarchy as a continuing problem.

Today Im pretty sure I was raped. I want to talk to someone in DMs because its private information. But I cant DM. I have therapy on Friday I think I can wait until then of nobody can send a DM to me. I cant talk to family or freinds because I dont want anyone to look poorly on the person. If they see im discussing it in public they will get very mad and feel betrayed.

Clarity: I cant DM because I dont have premium. If someone who has premium would be okay with DMing me I would like that

Dear sir, "Thank you for sharing scripture, but I need to be clear that your behavior toward me is hurting and not in line with the love and respect God calls us to show one another. Using faith to justify abuse is wrong and not from God. I deserve to be treated with kindness and dignity, and I ask you to stop the harmful behavior. I hope we can find a way forward rooted in genuine love and peace." Sincerely ,Branch.

If the words, "I, me , mine" are in our vocabulary, we aren't where we need to be in Christ.
If we are truly in Him, we are no longer our own, we are moving forward in being conformed to the image of the Son.
Just sharing what the Bible teaches. You took it and acted offended, choosing to be offended usually is a cry for control over others, kind of like that post #18.

Women get mad at people, men get mad at things, for a woman, she will dislike the person for the act, a man will tend to separate the act from the person.

"Male and female He created them", and both were made in His image, can a man on CC share how this is supposed to work????
it's 2:25 a.m. here, going back to work on my pillow, hope you wonderful people get this figured out. :):giggle:(y)
best wishes

Love of this world is enmity to God, the adversary will use all manner of distraction to keep our focus and relationship from Jesus, who is our 1st true focus in relationship.
best wishes
