Here is more scripture on "FIRE"
Luke 9: James/John want to call down fire from heaven on Samaritans who won't receive Jesus. Jesus rebukes them. A time for vengeance will come, but this is the time of invitation and that invitation is open even to these Samaritans who, at least for the moment, reject him.
Deuteronomy 4:23 So watch yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which He made with you, and make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the LORD your God has commanded you. For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:33 Has any people heard the voice of God speaking from the midst of the fire, as you have heard it, and survived?
Deuteronomy 9:3 Know therefore today that it is the LORD your God who is crossing over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and He will subdue them before you, so that you may drive them out and destroy them quickly, just as the LORD has spoken to you.
Deuteronomy 32:22 For a fire is kindled in My anger, And burns to the lowest part of Sheol, And consumes the earth with its yield, And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains
1 Kings 18:24 Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the LORD, and the God who answers by fire, He is God. And all the people answered and said, That is a good idea. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, The LORD, He is God; the LORD, He is God.
2 Kings 1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.
Job 1:16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.
Psalm 50:3 May our God come and not keep silence; Fire devours before Him, And it is very tempestuous around Him.
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire
Genesis 19:24 Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven.
Luke 16:22-24 The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
So i ask again is the fire that is found in the Word of God of any sort of purification or is it in actual fact God's 'anger' 'wrath' 'judgment' 'consuming' 'burning' 'destroying' 'devouring'
I'm searching the scripture daily to test the teaching that comes out of the mouth of men. I had a good friend that i met a few years back, we talk a lot about God however when i started searching scripture to validate what they teach today in the church she became cross with me and accused me of attacking the body of Christ
