There's no such thing as 'holy fire'
Right, The baptism of fire is the destruction of the wicked with fire that occurs at the post trib return of Christ, immediately following the ''rapture''

2nd Thess 1
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Amen, his blood washes away sins.

We can make this a discussion with nothing in-between, as I love to discuss these things. I am not trying to prove anything. Not at all.

There are many things that I would LOVE to discuss, but I cannot, until I see if someone is there to discuss with.

So, let's discuss this, and make this a good thread.

What I said was that the fire tries the DEEDS of the man. So that any deeds that don't hold up, will be worthless to him. This is the trying by fire.

But what this requires is a solid understanding of baptism. The Lord has not made it 100% clear about this baptism to me yet, so I cannot assume any knowledge about it, neither will I accept any until the Lord shows me.

But he has shown me a LITTLE about the fire as purification. Now, if fire gets onto wood, it will burn, or hay, it will burn, or stubble, it will burn. But silver and gold are purified by fire, not burned. They do not consume away, though they do melt.

So, with this small mind, I cannot assume anything. If it is good to be gold and silver, I desire to be gold and silver (speaking of spiritual things), and if it is bad to be gold and silver, I desire to be wood and stubble. But I want my deeds to stand the fire, so I am sure gold and silver is best.

Because after the smith purifies the gold and silver of its natural elements, he can then beat it and shape it into a tool that he could use to carry out his work. But it has to be purified first.

Many things the Lord gives to reveal to us our old natures and the natures of himself, and the nature of those who abide in him.

May Jesus bless you.
The only other scriptures i could found on fire is the fire used to TEST the faith of men not any sort of purification.

1 Corinthians 3:13
Each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.

1 Peter 1:7

So that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

However the Matthew 3:11 is referring to a judgement fire when John the baptist said, He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire, two different things.

It really simply when you think about it. when John the Baptist said he baptized with water, what did he mean? water. And when he said Jesus would baotize us with the Holy Spirit what did he mean? The Holy Spirit. So when he says Jesus will baptize with fire, what do you think he meant?

Yes what John said in Matthew 3:12 been that fire..

It goes like this,

Holy Spirit baptism is for those who believe unto Christ.

Fire baptism is for those who reject Christ.

The ironic thing is it is you that is in error, and an obvious error at that.

Not quite.

Something is not right with this.
When John the baptist said water he meant literal water, when he said the Holy Spirit he literally meant the Holy Spirit. why is it so hard for people to understand what he meant when he said fire?
