Yes, and there it is in plain simple English! To baptize in English means to dip, plunge, immerse. It doesn't mean sprinkle or pour, which are 2 totally different words which are not interchangeable. Yes, there it is! Go study.
It doesn't only mean that, but you do you. There's more to understanding the Bible than understanding individual word definitions. You should try some study yourself beyond word definitions.[/QUOTE]

Every word in the bible, even the smallest seemingly most insignificant is there for a purpose and not a casual choice. The word baptism means what it means and can't be changed or substituted by the likes of mankind. Goodbye

Question what do you think we need to do when it says get baptized in JESUS name for remission of sins?

How does a person get baptized in HIS name?

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt 20:19-20 ESV.
That's how Jesus told us to do it.

That's how Jesus told us to do it.

So you do agree with being submersed in water?

JESUS did say that, but HE was not taking to us HE was talking to HIS disciples.

HE gave HIS disciples specific orders.

Do you think when HIS disciples tells US in every recorded case, that we need to be baptize in JESUS name they disobey HIM?

Did you notice, "baptizing them (((in the name of))) the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

What do you think, how can we explain that?

Immersed is fine, so is sprinkling or pouring.

Jesus gave instructions. We should follow them.

You would baptize someone who has already been forgiven for the same reason Paul baptized the Philippian jailer who had already believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. An unsaved person is dead in trespasses and sins cannot obey commands like "Be baptized." "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved," said the apostles to the jailer. So I agree that water baptism does not lead one to Jesus, as you said. Water baptism is a sign that you have come to Jesus, that you are saved.
your logic is unbiblical. I would baptize one who has been saved as an act of obedience. And the issue is not water baptism is the error of water baptism in Jesus' name only for salvation that is unbiblical. As The word of Shows baptism in Jesus' name and in the name of the father Son and Holy Spirit is also a valid baptism in the name of doesn't mean you have to say the name of Jesus it is the Authority by which one baptize a person. You legalistic types are just modern-day Pharisees. And the jailer was descriptive not normative.

New Testament bible lesson

In the bible, the Greek word 'baptizo' has only one generalized GREEK definition: to dip, plunge, immerse. The NT was written in Greek. 'Baptizo' is the Greek word from which our English corresponding word, 'baptize', was transliterated, not translated.

"Transliteration" means it's the same, exact, word, not a translated word, changed only to accommodate and adjust for the difference in languages.

'Rhantizo' (verb), is the Greek word for sprinkle (or sprinkling), and 'Chynontas' the Greek word for pouring. There are also numerous other Greek words for 'pour' or variations of 'pour', such as 'to pour out', and likewise "sprinkle", like the below, none of which are interchangeable with or mean the same as 'baptizo'. Our English word "baptize" and corresponding usage, is unique in this respect.
  • χύνω (
    chúnōc h ú n ō
    )
: The general Greek word for "pour".
  • ἐκχέω (
    ekcheōe k c h e ō
    )
: Means "to pour out." It is frequently used in the New Testament to describe the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on believers, or the pouring out of judgment.
  • καταχέω (
    katacheók a t a c h e ó
    )
: Means "to pour down" or "to pour out," as seen in the example of pouring oil over someone's head.
  • ἐπιχέω (
    epicheóe p i c h e ó
    )
: Means "to pour upon" or "to pour over," often used for pouring a liquid onto a wound.
The main Greek words for "sprinkle" in the Bible are ῥαντίζω (rhantizō) (verb) and ῥαντισμός (rhantismos) (noun). Rhantizō is used to describe the act of sprinkling, as in the sprinkling of blood for cleansing or purification, while rhantismos refers to the act or result of sprinkling itself.
  • ῥαντίζω (rhantizō): verb
  • ῥαντισμός (rhantismos): noun
Note: Some of the above is derived from readily available information on the internet.

I don't understand what you mean. You start by saying that you would baptize one who has been saved as an act of obedience. You end by saying that the jailer was not normative. Yet he had believed and was saved, and was then baptized, just as you began by saying. How can that be legalistic?

Jesus gave instructions. We should follow them.

So when HIS word says buried with HIM you really think someone sprinkling or pouring water on someone is the same thing.

When a person gets sprinkled or poured on where does the water get sprinkled or poured on?

Head, foot? Is that person standing up, laying down?

Just curious I don't recall those instructions in HIS word.

As I said JESUS gave HIS DISCIPLES instructions not the unsaved.

HIS DISCIPLES knew who HE was.

Matthew 28:18-19
English Standard Version
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

We have to be humble and always have an answer for questions.

The ESV revision was done in 1971, and as you can see the wording is different.

1 Peter 3:15
English Standard Version
15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

1 Peter 3:18
King James Version
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

SO THERE HAS TO BE AN EXPLANATION WHY HIS DISCIPLES GAVE THE WORLD, INSTRUCTIONS TO US AND BAPTIZED IN JESUS NAME!!!

And there has to be an example of being sprinkled or poured on.

I'm just in the seed business, none of us will EVER know it all but we have to be humble so we can grow in the LORD.

HIS WORD.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

HIS word is clear on how to get rid of our sins.

Do you really think someone is saved without getting rid of their sins?

Why are you saying being baptize in JESUS name unbiblical???

How can you baptism someone that is saved? What is baptism for?

Why do you think being baptized in JESUS titles is the same and using HIS name?

Is (THE NAME OF) the same as JESUS?

Instead of using your own words and wisdom to tell me what is in HIS word and not is HIS word, how about using HIS word and let JESUS DO THE TALKING.

There aren't any examples of any mode of baptism.

Is that the best you have?

ALL of HIS word and that's it?

How about we start with John the baptist.

He was put on this earth FOR ONE PURPOSE.

Do you know what it was for?

What about why JESUS disciples baptized in JESUS name, nothing with that?

None of the examples in the Bible specify how much water was used nor how it was applied.

When John the Baptist was baptizing people, we read:

“Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized.” (Joh 3:23 NKJV)

That, together with the Ethiopian going down into the water to be baptised, seems to indicate that a lot of water was used. Also, Strong's Concordance tells us that the word translated, "baptize" means:

"907. baptizo [bap-tid -zo;] from a derivative of 911; to immerse, submerge; to make overwhelmed (i.e. fully wet);"

Just because there was "much water" doesn't mean "much water" was used for the baptism. You're reading into the text instead of reading the text.
That, together with the Ethiopian going down into the water to be baptised, seems to indicate that a lot of water was used.
Philip also "went down into the water." So if you say that means immersion, Philip must also have been immersed.
Also, Strong's Concordance tells us that the word translated, "baptize" means: "907. baptizo [bap-tid -zo;] from a derivative of 911; to immerse, submerge; to make overwhelmed (i.e. fully wet);"
Strong's isn't scripture, and I'm not playing Greek word games with you.

Is this a question or statement you are making?

Two verses you use out of Context, what said before and after those verses? the word of God doesn't replace water baptism from the work of the Cross of our lord. those verses do not make the word of Jesus is John 3:16-19 and Romans chapter 10 : 9-111 void on salvation and forgiveness of sins

Jesus did it not water baptism.

1 John 1:7
The blood of Jesus has cleansing power to reconcile us from sin. Just as sacrifices were made in the Old Testament, Jesus gave His life and shed His blood for this purpose. According to 1 John 1:7, "the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin".

Ephesians 1:7: "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace."

Hebrews 9:14: "How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!"

1 Peter 1:19: "But with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."

Jesus said it was His Blood that was poured out for the forgiveness of Sins. Jesus did that not your being water baptized. Those who place the act of sins being washed away without seeing water is and was symbolic of the grave and the Blood as Romans 6 tell us . Has made a big error.

Matthew 26:28: "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for you. It is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."

These verses highlight the significance of Jesus' blood in the context of salvation and forgiveness, emphasizing the transformative power of His sacrifice for humanity's sins.

There aren't any examples of any mode of baptism.
there are two recorded water Baptism in the word of God I see none of them records words spoken as they were water baptized.

Jesus water baptism and The Eunuch Philp baptized. The Mention of all there is no where it says, " I baptize you in Jesus' name."
SO important so critical yet it's not even recorded one saying "I baptize you in the name of Jesus" as they baptized anyone.

wow.

Nothing you said here has anything to do with "mode" (e.g. sprinkle, pour, immersion) of baptism, so I have no idea why you replied to my comment.
