Since God chose branches of olives from the Gentiles to be a part of the lineage of Abraham, I argue that all families of people who were saved bring votive offerings to the altar, since our lives are sincerely touched by lasting artwork.

Yes, according to His unfailing love. To not be enemies, to yield even your life to His unfailing love.

By the Lord's word spoken in John 15:14-15, "You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn't confide in his slaves."

I think Thomas Kinkade might have believed those words

What is a votive offering and where is this altar that it is to be placed? Seems like a meaningless gesture to me. I can't say that my life has been sincerely touched by lasting artwork.

Votive -- a form of art made for use in customary display given as valuables. I.e. candles, dinnerware, stationery, ornaments, vases, urns etc.
