When it comes to the words of God, According to God the Father nothing is change. The issue is not whether or not God chose to utter it, but rather the context in which it is uttered. The meaning for the English word "weird" has changed over the past 1000 years to the point where very few people of this day would recognize its meaning from 1000 years ago. The phrase "king of kings" was uttered in a specific context with specific implications. If one does not know what the phrase meant to its initial hearers, then one will miss the message delivered. Sometimes taking of available knowledge is a means of humbling one's-self, yet there remain those who are too proud to do so and instead insist that their act of humbling be that of their own choice, not God's.
As God the Father said:
ECCLESIASTES 1:9
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Then as the Lord Jesus said.
MATTHEW 24:35
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
The words King of Kings when it was written is still King of Kings today.
It is God who will reveal the truth (the meaning) and not man.
This method is from a man only:
