So when she claimed a diet that consists of meat was morally evil,
Quote where she says this, another verse out of context. I have been down this road before on this exact accusation, Its almost like you are reading a play book instead of doing your own research.
she really meant that it wasn’t morally evil if it was Passover,
Did she say Passover- why do you keep quoting her out of context, this makes one a false witness and its something our LORD does not take lightly.
“The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty, for it is the point of truth especially controverted. When the final test shall be brought to bear upon men, then the line of distinction will be drawn between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. While the observance of the false sabbath in compliance with the law of the state, contrary to the fourth commandment, will be an avowal of allegiance to a power that is in opposition to God, the keeping of the true Sabbath, in obedience to God’s law, is an evidence of loyalty to the Creator. While one class, by accepting the sign of submission to earthly powers, receive the mark of the beast, the other, choosing the token of allegiance to divine authority, receive the seal of God.“
She basically said that those who don’t honor don’t keep the sabbath on saturdays receive the mark of the beast. Ouch
Sure this is easy.
What was the test for the Israelites to pass through to their promised rest.
This was the condition of the Israelites receiving their promised rest (land of Canaan)
Deut 6:1 “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you,
that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, 2
that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3
Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’
4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
So this was the condition of them receiving their land full of milk and honey - they had to love God and keep His commandments.
Did they do that? What did God personally single out that they did not observe which kept them out of the land they were promised
Eze 20:13 Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’;
and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.
Eze 20:16 So I also raised My hand in an oath to them in the wilderness,
that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, ‘flowing with milk and honey,’ the glory of all lands, because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes
, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols
God Himself said they never made it into their promised rest because they profaned His Sabbath and
He related that to idol worship. This is God saying this not EGW.
We are plainly told not to follow in the same example of disobedient to enter into our rest
Heb4:6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached
did not enter because of disobedience
Heb 4:11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest,
lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
The mark of the best is over worship. You can see this plainly in Rev 13 and Rev 14. Do we worship the beast (government system) who changed God's times and laws- the Sabbath Dan7:25 or do we worship the Creator who made Rev14:7 which brings us back to the Sabbath Exo20:11
only the beast system can tell us their mark of authority and they already did which is related to what they changed on their own authority over God's
It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.
—Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, NJ ‘News’ on March 18, 1903.
Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.
—C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.
Scripture tells us whoever we obey is who we serve Rom6:16KJV Jesus in His own words said when we lay aside the commandment of God quoting from the Ten Commandments, we make the word of God of no effect, our heart from Him is far and our worship to Him is in vain. Mat15:3-14 Mark 7:7-13 There is no commandment for Sunday-keeping this is a man-made tradition, but there is for keeping the seventh day Sabbath holy, this is a commandment of God, written by God spoken by God. Exo31L18 Deut4:13 They are trying to make man-made laws around Sunday just like the Pharisees did on their sabbath so they can persecute God's people. Its history repeating itself all over again.
The only solution to this:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
Is found in the next verse- this of course is God's version of His commandments.
12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus
