Isaiah 1:14 I hate your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They have become a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them.
You Pulling that text out of it's context, is to try to prove what? That Israel had reached a place in their apostacy that God rejected all their attempts to worship and honor Him in His feast days, sabbaths, and new moons because their presence was an abomination?

That they were so much an abomination as a nation, that even their prayers were not heard?

Because that is the context.

Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Isa 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
Isa 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isa 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
Isa 1:20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

.Here is one false prophecy of White:

White contends the Sabbath is still in effect and Sunday is not honored by God as day to honor Him

What scripture actually says:

The New Testament clearly shows Christians worshiping together on Sunday, not Saturday and Romans 14 teaches that the individual must be convinced in their own mind of the day they choose to observe.
You are sadly mistaken. ROMANS 14 DOES NOT MENTION THE SABBATH, AND IS NOT EVEN ABOUT THE BOOK OF THE LAW.

I'm not suggesting anyone should not use it. I did make note I don't use it both just for info and the fact that all of White's heresies can be found online and also because the SDA member here told everyone in the commandment thread that I was using AI. I corrected them there and just noted it here before the false info about me is posted again.

If SDA doctrine adherents would actually study scripture with the same passion they swear allegiance to White, there could be a revolution; a leaving of the SDA cult and an actual understanding that Jesus is the only way to God. The commandments are not the way to God.
YOU ARE FUNNY CONSIDERING THROUGHOUT THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES THEY WERE KNOWN AS THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK, THE BIBLE.

AND NO THE COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT THE WAY TO GOD. I DO NOT KNOW ONE ADVENTIST WHO SAYS THIS.

HOWEVER I DO KNOW SEVERAL WHO SAY THROUGH AND IN CHRIST THE COMMANDMENTS, THE WORD IS IN OUR HEARTS, MOUTHS AND IN OUR MINDS. THAT GOD THROUGH CHRIST HAS GIVEN US HIS SPIRIT TO CAUSE US TO WALK IN HIS WAYS. FOR IT IS HE THAT WORKS IN US BOTH TO WILL AND DO HIS GOOD PLEASURE. THAT IS THE FAITH IN WHICH WE PREACH. NOT WHAT YOU SAY.

It sounds like the key take-away here is the doctrine of sda, which means it’s man-made.
It’s not the doctrine of Jesus Christ.
According to Jesus, which should be the only opinion that matters and make our adjustments based on.

This is man-made doctrine according to Him- this is Him speaking.

Mat 15:3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” 6 he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God.

7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:

8 “ ‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
9 in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

This is a very important teaching by Jesus.

  • Traditions of man according to Jesus is laying aside the commandments of God quoting directly from the Ten Commandments.
  • He used the commandments of God interchangeable with the word of God (John17:17) and in doing this - laying aside God's commandments it voids out His word
  • He says in doing this our heart is far from even though our lips are professing Him
  • He said it makes are worship to Him in vain
  • If you keep reading in this passage He goes on to say those who teach and follow are the spiritual blind and will end up in a ditch.
So while we make judgements against each other, it doesn't matter- Catholics think Protestants are lost, Muslim think Christians are lost, the only Judgement that matters is Gods. He tells us from His word how to live and I guess its easier to throw stones at someone else than looking at ourselves.

The SDA church beliefs are built on Scripture https://adventist.org/beliefs

In the end God will be the Judge of all us. Ecc12:13-14

You are sadly mistaken. ROMANS 14 DOES NOT MENTION THE SABBATH, AND IS NOT EVEN ABOUT THE BOOK OF THE LAW.
Romans 14 is about the Law of love and the Law of liberty. This is not about the day of Worship. The disciples came together on the first day of the week to break bread. This is our example.

“Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So one time in 30+ years of coming together late at night, is your example over one of the commandments of God that came with His power of blessings and sanctification that Jesus Himself kept Luke 4:16 as He is LORD of the Sabbath, and the apostles kept every Sabbath faithfully for over30+ years Acts 15:21 Acts 18:4 and the day that continues for worship in God's New Heaven and Earth for His saints Isa66:23. I guess to each their own.

He gave us His word to know what IS truth. If their truth doesn’t line up with His truth, then this is righteous judgment! We should be like the noble Bereans to discern what IS truth and what is NOT truth.

This is not throwing stones, but discerning what is Truth. If you know God’s word then you know Truth when you see it!!

Agreed- this is His Truth according to Him and it never changes

Jesus is the Truth John 14:6
All His commandments are Truth Psa 119:151
His Word is Truth John 17:17

Why what you're teaching to lay aside the commandment of God for a tradition of man Jesus said makes the Word of God of no effect. His word is Truth, His commandment is Truth so this teaching is laying aside His Truth.

Hence:

1 John2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

The context of this op is not you defending your personal beliefs. There is already a topic at hand and it's not you defending sabbath or anyone else. I know what transpired between Magenta and sabbath. sabbath does not have a good relationship with the truth.

Have you read the actual op? It's not about debating personal issues.

You’re not really understanding Scripture. He fulfilled the Law when He died on the cross. Christians started coming together (Jew and Gentile alike) after He died, and started honoring the NC. The OC was nailed to the cross.

You can belittle a verse all you want, but it doesn’t negate its existence as our example or command.

The Jews tried catching Him in various things that He said and did, including healing on Shabbat. This is why He said that He is Lord of Shabbat.
He can do what He wants, since He is God the Son.

I am not responding to nonsense outside of the op so as a curtesy, I am letting you know that so that you will not expect any response from me other than this one and the post above

Read the op. This thread is about the heresies of Ellen White. It is not about your exegesis of scripture which I won't agree with anyway and I highly advise others here to just ignore your efforts to derail the thread.

One other thing: that was a post concerning something White said/was teaching, not me. So, try to read with better comprehension

Is it possible to try and stick with the op? I would appreciate that. I understand a couple of people here very much want to derail the thread and discuss how wonderful their OT/NT mashup plays out but they are SDA in nature so there is nothing they will agree with. They are here to argue only and they do that to discredit the info being posted about the heresies of Ellen White.

Thanks

sabbath will tie up the thread with SDA nonsense and twist what you say and deny what scripture says

Please try not to get engaged with her or the other one. It's what they want. Thanks again. Ignore is best for those 2

You keep using your words as if its God's Word, but I am going to stick with what He said instead of trying to lean on our own understanding Pro3:5-6 which will just deceive us. I can't reason when one uses their words as if its the same as God's Word, its not. I have provided Scripture at every turn you provide your ideas and thoughts of what you want the Scriptures to say, not what it actually says.

Here is a reminder of the actual op. If someone is not familiar with SDA doctrine, perhaps do a couple of searches on it. Engaging SDA members is fruitless. When you see what White taught and how she sought revenge on anyone who questionned her thousands of visions and prophecies, you will hopefully begin to understand why I suggest it is better to not take them up on
their offer to argue and debate while twisting what you say and taking scripture out of context. Thanks :)

There is actually a thread, hundreds of pages, and filled with posts from SDA people so it might be fun to engage them there so that they cannot derail and twist the truth in this thread

The record of false 'prophecies' from EG White is both extensive and alarming, considering the adherents who still follow her, while ignoring the record of error and insisting that she was both accurate and a true 'prophet'.

Adventists, having experienced the false prophecy of William Miller who stated Jesus would return Oct. 22, 1844, (aka The Great Disappointment) retroactively corrected the error of Miller by stating that Miller was over eager in his words and what actually took
place 10/22/1844, was the 'start' of Jesus final 'work', meaning the cleansing in the heavenly sanctuary which would actually lead up to
the 2nd coming.

The backlash after the failed expectations of so many, resulted in angry critcism and even, in some cases, violence from the public. It seems
that many followers had given up their possessions in consideration of the prophecied date of Jesus return and now they were left empty handed both spiritually and physically.

The Millerites had to deal with their own shattered expectations, as well as considerable criticism and even violence from the public. Many followers had given up their possessions in expectation of Christ's return. A Millerite church was burned in NY and 2 others were vandalized
while a mob in Illinois attacked the Millerite congregation with clubs and knive while yet another group, in Toronto, Canada, was tarred and feathered. In some other cases in Canada, Millerites were shot at.

Many Milleries gave up their beliefs but, during this time, as stated above, excues were made, corrections given and several new sects sprang up, apparently unwilling to admit error or the possibility they had been falling both a false teacher and a false prophet in the person of William Miller.

Due to the active and insistent amount of posts made in another thread here regarding the ongoing claims of White's adherents or SDA participants, along with the denials of scripture that indicate error or the skipping over of questions and so on by the same adherents, it seems it would be more helpful to discuss the problems of White's teachings in a different atmosphere where proof of the false prophecies and what scripture actually states, could be discussed. No prejudice intended, but open discussion is needed which cannot be had if certain people take scripture out of context to change the meaning or, just ignore scripture altogether.

An SDA member, Dirk Anderson, who left the cult set up a fairly thorough website about his research into Ellen White:

https://www.nonegw.org/

The home page leads to an index of topics.

Be warned: some SDA's created an "anti-Dirk Anderson" response on one of their pages: https://www.ellenwhite.info/dirk_anderson_on_the_bible.htm

The pages (only two for Mr. Anderson's hundreds?) are meant to poison Mr. Anderson's credence with Evangelicals by casting doubt on his personal view of the Bible. Remember: one doesn't have to be a believer in God to know what a cult is when they leave one. No doubt, if Dirk maintains any issues about religion, it might be traced to his time with the Seventh Day Adventists. Having been lied to for years will do that to a person.

Here are his sites:

https://www.nonegw.org/ and https://www.nonsda.org/

I did not have the time to examine them closely so I am not vouching for their doctrinal stance but they seem to provide a good foundation of information that demonstrates how Ellen White and her followers lost their way.

I will add this: One of the main tennents of SDA is their obsession with the Sabbath. I have actually been told in another thread, that if I go to church on Sunday, I am bound for hell. You see, these folk pick and choose only what they think upholds their heretical doctrines. They ignore scripture such as this:

16Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a feast, a New Moon, or a Sabbath. 17These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ. 18Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you with speculation about what he has seen. Such a person is puffed up without basis by his unspiritual mind. 19He has lost connection to the head, from whom the whole body, supported and knit together by its joints and ligaments, grows as God causes it to grow.

20If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its regulations: 21“Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”? 22These will all perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. 23Such restrictions indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-prescribed worship, their false humility, and their harsh treatment of the body; but they are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
Colossians 2

So you hopefully can begin to see how useless it is to engage SDA folk in the hope of having honest discourse. They simply will not acknowledge scripture such as the above, that plainly give us the knowedge that what they say about the Sabbath is not true. There is no way you can reason with that type of doctrine. Pray of course.

Thanks very much for this Aaron. There is so much out there about White and the misbegotten SDA cult that it could be a university course. Since these folk are so devious in the way they try to present their doctrines (all SDA, not advancing anyone in particular) it is adviseable for people to brush up on their beliefs and their tactics so that you won't be caught off guard.

Thanks again. I should be doing something else right now but just took a little time off to get back on this thread before it was completely hijacked so will be back later...thanks again for this info!!
