Thanks for your time to respond.O.k., it looks like there is some merit to this. If that is the case, I don't have much in terms of any counter points. I would be curious to what a SDA would say, since I got nothing in defense.

When I have time I'll look at more source material.......to a point. The woman wrote 40 books, over 5,000 thousand periodical articles, had over 2,000 visual or oral paranormal experiences, most of which were with supernatural entities, angels, Jesus.
SDA Fundamental Belief #18
..."As the Lord's messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction and correction."
It sounds like one fundamental SDA belief is that she was inspired of God. So their authority is not only from the Bible but from the teachings of Ellen Gould White.
I'm sure someone will set me right on this but on the surface, that's exactly what it sounds like.
