Faith comes by hearing. Romans 10:17
Faith is the bridge God lays down so we can be crossed over into eternal life.
Yes and without one choosing to walk in faith they cannot be born again or remain in right standing with the Lord.
Faith comes by hearing. Romans 10:17
Faith is the bridge God lays down so we can be crossed over into eternal life.
So, we are not saved through faith?I think it is because you believe that by it you must become saved.
And it only take faith the size of a mustard seed. . . . . The sanctification and growth continues.Faith comes by hearing. Romans 10:17
Faith is the bridge God lays down so we can be crossed over into eternal life.
So, we are not saved through faith?
So, fatalistic determination and no free will? Sounds more like luck of the draw than grace. No, I don't think so, not by our faith at least. I believe that salvation
is given as a completely a free gift to us (to those whom He chose) from an exceedingly gracious and merciful God through Jesus Christ the Savior, with no requirements nor stipulations associated to the receiving of it. And that, I believe, is what makes salvation by grace.
You pulled the last statement out of context! Jesus was referring to the 11 that God the Father gave to Him. Many times, context is everything!OSAS
When a person is saved and given to Christ by the father, is he not also justified? Have his sins been forgiven through the death and resurrection of Christ?
If so, then it appears that OSAS is a most true conclusion to reach based on these facts.
Christ now sits at the right hand of the father as our advocate. He pleads our case, He intercedes on our behalf. He can rightly say that He suffered and our sins were laid on Him. He can rightly claim that all who have been given to Him by the father will be raised on that day.
They will be found spotless before the throne of God! They will persevere simply because they belong to Christ. Christ tells us “I will lose none of those given to me”
Believing/faith is not a work that merits salvation. Through believing/faith, we are completely trusting in "Another's work," - Christ's finished work of redemption. (Romans 3:22-26)
Faith comes by hearing. Romans 10:17
More akin to Hebrews 12:2...Jesus being the AUTHOR and finisher of our faith. So, fatalistic determination and no free will? Sounds more like luck of the draw than grace.
Easy, walking away from Christ; one loses faith, you turn your back to God and return back to the world. They no longer believe in Him!!How does one judicially get out of Christ once they are in?
Easy, walking away from Christ; one loses faith, you turn your back to God and return to back to the world. They no longer believe in Him!!
In John 6:29, Jesus said - "This is the work (singular) of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent," when He answered the Jews (who were taking a legalistic approach) when they asked, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works (plural) of God?" Certain folks mistakingly believe that believing is just "another" work in a series of works in a quest to receive salvation by works. Some here keep misunderstanding how the term "works"was being used when the Bible was written.
Works was a system of things to do, devised by men, that if followed was to guarantee acceptance by God.
A single work in itself is not necessarily a part of what was termed works.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us that God has planned for us to do good works after we are saved.
Therefore, doing a "work" is not intrinsically bad.
Some today have gotten to think that any work is a dirty thing...
Not works (system of man made things to do)...
But, one work! Is what God seeks for us to be saved.
The disciples were still thinking in terms of the man made rules (works) that they had been conditioned to think with having been promoted by the Pharisees. The Pharisees had propagandized the Jews into thinking works was to be a norm in guaranteeing salvation. The RCC has used the Pharisees system as their role model.
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”One work.
Not "works!"
Believe!
Believing in Jesus Christ is the one work God accepts!
Sometimes loud, but mostly strong! All preaching should be based on the doctrine of Jesus Christ, and whatever you find in the letters to different people in the NC. There are many letters and excerpts of warnings to the saints.LOUD preaching... not strong.
It is designed to move the emotions of the hearers.
Get behind me Kitty Man!OSAS is 100% a false doctrine!!
Well, the question is whether they are, indeed, commands.Usual assertions.
Typical descriptive vs. prescriptive escape mechanism when dealing with commands and conditional clauses or anything that conflicts with the 'works' hypersensitivity that even have category names...
In John 3, Jesus tells Nicodemus that belief in him is a sign of previously being Born Again.Being "born again" is distinct from faith, acting as the result or inner transformation produced by faith. While faith is the act of trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation, being born again is the spiritual rebirth or regeneration by the Holy Spirit that results from faith.
Yes, as long as you believe and hold onto the faith! Absolutely!!Not really for those whose faith originates from God and not man.
[1Pe 1:4-5 KJV]
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
That doesn't change anything judicially. We have been placed into Christ. How does someone remove themselves from being in Christ?Easy, walking away from Christ; one loses faith, you turn your back to God and return back to the world. They no longer believe in Him!!
You are just a playback recording that was given by false teachers who know how to appeal to you emotionally.
Yes, as long as you believe and hold onto the faith! Absolutely!!
