Jesus did the same thing when asked by what authority He did various things. He responded to a question with a question.

You might want to rethink your response.
The other member is not Jesus.

brand new?
ok, understood, you are an ignorant child. no problem. you were drawn to where you **might** learn.

you do well to recognize the preliminary goodness of childlike obedience. but obedience to what/Who?

why did Jesus die if you did not need Him to?
You're funny in a sad kind of way.

Remember James 3:1

here is a man who pokes himself when he removes his sword from his scabbard

bruh

if you know, you know.
but if you profess yourself ignorant of scripture, i can painstakingly waste my time to oblige and cite every single innuendo.

speak plainly how unlearned and dumb you are please, and i will be happy to accommodate - - but if you present yourself as a teacher and as yet act like a failed student, i myself confess that i remain at a loss what to treat with you.
Projecting skeleton man.

Maybe YOU are here to teach.
Big mistake on your part.
You will be held accountable for what you post the is not what Jesus taught.

one day, despite yourself, you will confess the glory of Matthew 11:25, and i truly hope you are joyful instead of ashamed

:)
You do like to hear your voice....
Thus all these silly comments of yours.

And they are rather silly and very child like.

Not at all what Jesus would approve.

Not at all what He commanded in Matthew 28:19

God did.

that's why it is in your instruction manual

;)
You should read that instruction manual.

And let what it teaches really sink in.

Which you've failed to do unti now.

You can reply since you like the sound of your voice.

But you will not be receiving a reply.

No need to encourage your sinful behavior. And sinful it is.

The whole allegiance thing is an issue but one should go and worship somewhere.

Christians should worship everywhere without ceasing (1Thes. 5:17, Rom. 12:1-2),
but they should also meet with fellow believers for mutual encouragement and edification (Heb. 10:24-25),
which should be the main purpose of discussion on CC.

Won't get much of that around here.

Jesus taught that we are to be loving toward each other.

John 13:35
35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Jesus taught humbleness.
Matthew 5:5
5 "Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.

Jesus taught that it's what comes OUT of the mouth that matters.

Matthew 15.11
11 "It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."

And it seems that some come on here to teach since they accuse others of this.
James said the following:

James 3:1
1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.

And it certainly does seem that some on these forums teach that it is not important to obey God....
That works is a filthy word.....as if it's not up to us to work for the Kingdom of God...
when it is all Jesus taught for over 3 years.

it is really concerning.
The judgment of the soul will be left up to God for each and every one of us....

but I would be worried about teaching the opposite of what Jesus taught.

What we see here is "Christians" attacking Christians that are simply stating what the NT teaches including
scriptural support (which is also looked down upon).
A house divided will not stand....and this is where Christianity seems to be headed.

And I do have "christians" in quotation marks....
because those that do not teach what Jesus taught and even fight against it
cannot be considered to be of the Christian faith.

I think I know you.
Yes. Maybe it depends on the thread....
Will have to check out who the OP is from now on.
Never seen anything like what goes on here!

I'd probably like your TOJ LOL You use initials for everything!
According to some there are no TOJ's.
Just believe.

Problem is:
BELIEVE means something specific in the original language in which it was used.
Many, these days, have forgotten what it means....
but they sure do love running to "the Greek" when they THINK it suits them!

Anyway, catch you around.

Yes, I think we met while discussing Italy during the Olympics.
Yes, threads involving systematic study do not appeal to ping-pongers.
Yes, I use initials due to 33 years in the military, 50 years studying Scripture, and posting on many threads.
Yes, believe in the NT refers to the Gospel, which I discuss in the Kerygma thread.
I am grateful to the translators, but the full or deep meaning derives from harmonizing GW in whatever language.
Hasta la vista.

Jesus went to the cross to show that those that follow and trust Him are unable to keep the commandments?
This sounds like another brand new teaching.

And every denomination teaches something or other that we do not care for.
So far @vassal has posted what the NT teaches.

If he wishes to worship on Saturday,,,that is his prerogative - even if you do not agree with him.

Some on these boards do state that sinning will not cause loss of salvation.
They state that obeying God is doing works of the Law.
They even believe that faith is a work.

I'd say these statements are very serious and should be addressed.
Then there are matters of secondary importance.

Ignorance may be bliss but it certainly does not work out that way when the Bible is being dicussed. Your 1st sentence is indicative of every single person in creation who cannot offer a biblical response and so, attempt to create a red herring type of narrative to hide the fact they don't know what's going on.

I have no problem for the day people worship on...every day is good too. The evil arises when people are told they are going to hell or have the mark of the beast because they go to church on Sunday.

Try to keep up.

So far @vassal has posted what the NT teaches.

Oh. That totally explains why he says the 10 commandments are the covenant and Jesus came only to help us keep them.

Ignorance is not bliss. He cannot even acknowledge that Jesus died and provided a blood covenant and fulfilled the commandments because no human in this sinful world, can keep them. God is not looking for 4 out 10 or even 9 out of 10 being
kept perfectly. He wants 10 out of 10 24/7, every week, month and year.

Now please tell us how you manage that.

It is absolutely crazy and totally anti-gospel to insist on saying or believing that Jesus died so we could keep the commandments.

No Bible on this earth says that, so ignorance of scripture is not an excuse for accepting that you can keep the commandments lie.

Oh. That totally explains why he says the 10 commandments are the covenant and Jesus came only to help us keep them.
The New Covenant did not abolish everything about the Mosaic Covenant.
God demanded obedience in EVERY single covenant He made with mankind...
beginning with the Edenic.

The difference between the old and the new is that we now have the Holy Spirit to help us keep them....
but they must be kept and anyone stating the opposite is teaching what the NT does not teach.

Mark 10:17-19
17 As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
18 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.
19 "You know the commandments, 'DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.' "

Jesus said we are to keep the 10 commandments.
God said they are everlasting.
Jesus is God.

Ignorance is not bliss. He cannot even acknowledge that Jesus died and provided a blood covenant and fulfilled the commandments because no human in this sinful world, can keep them.

Well, i think we'd better try to keep them.
God issues commandments..
not suggestions.

I'd say that we better do what Jesus said to do.....
keep His commandments.

John 14:15
15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

God is not looking for 4 out 10 or even 9 out of 10 being
kept perfectly. He wants 10 out of 10 24/7, every week, month and year.

Now please tell us how you manage that.
Well, if YOU think Jesus wants you to be perfect...
then you better be perfect !!
10 out of 10
24/7
every single day.

No way around it.
If you believe in sinless perfection...
that's what you should practice.

Or you could stop with the nonsense and the strawman and get real.

Did you take your medicine today?

You think Jesus hung on that cross so you DO NOT HAVE to keep His commandments??

Want to stop being ignorant of scripture?
Read the NT slowly and carefully and try to find out what Jesus wants from YOU
PERSONALLY....

and stop listening to the babbel which is going to get you into hell.
