I recently retired from the Post Office with 35 years of service and was really excited to retire. For the first year especially, I was absolutely thrilled to be retired! What was disappointing was 1 year after I retired, the new contract at work was settled, and it had one of the biggest raises that I had ever seen. Plus, they hired a lot of new carriers who cover all of the overtime. One of the main reasons I retired in my late 50's and did not make it to 62 was because I was so sick of being shorthanded at work and I constantly had to help out on crappy mail routes and work long hours! The Christmas season was a nightmare! Starting last Christmas season, I heard its piece of cake now. So, now that I'm gone, nice new raise, not shorthanded at all and I could have skated to age 62 and received a more significant pension. :oops:

Something here for pre-Trib and Post Trib believers.

The monk that started our Calendar started with the Lord's birth which I think was a mistake but if we go by the year the Lord was crucified was 33 AD. We add 2000 years. Now without adding or taking away from these numbers we come to year 2033.

Take away 7 years for pre-Tribbers and we got year 2026.

Is very good reason to be watchful.

The United States Postal Service has always been a big part of my life, as I have always loved sending and receiving physical mail.

Thank you for all your years of faithful service! I'm very sorry they decided to sweeten the pot after you retired. :(

It does sound like you got out at a good time though. I read last week that if something isn't done, the USPS won't be able to deliver mail by next year? Any news I hear about them makes it sound like they're going out of business at any time (but as an employee, maybe you know this isn't quite true?)

I just read the email from RoboOP about bookmarks being restored.
I was curious if I had ever made any bookmarks here as sometimes I do on sites, but then usually never look at them again.
To my surprise, I had just 1, the above quote.
It must have been very meaningful to me back then to bookmark it.
Then, seeing it again was as seeing it for the first time.
And it moves me still, almost just the exact thing I needed today.
The Lord has a way of doing that for me, providing just the right thing at just the right time.

I read about that. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is warning it will run out of cash by February 2027—or sooner—without congressional action to increase borrowing limits or raise revenue. Postmaster General David Steiner stated the agency faces a potential inability to pay employees or deliver mail, with losses driven by declining mail volume and legal mandates to pre-fund retiree benefits.

So, how do you access bookmarks, once bookmarks are made?

I'm truly sorry that it seems some things were getting better just as you left, but it sounds like God got you out at just the right time. :)

I love the USPS and have actually prayed regular for it, because I would hate to see the demise of such an important American (USA) institution.

To find them, simply click your little circle avatar at the top right, and then you'll see a "people" icon and the bookmark icon.
Simply click the bookmark icon and you should see all of your old bookmarks (as well as any recent ones you added).

I found it by little circle avatar, than Account details, and finally bookmarks. This should come in handy.

Yes, the USPS has dug a very deep financial hole through the years. Cutting back on the days of delivery will probably happen, and lots of layoffs due to automation and AI. Price of stamps is outrageous. It is cheaper for me to pay certain bills in person rather than mailing them.

I have done my share of snail mail through the years too. I would much get a handwritten letter or card rather than an email or text which is virtually meaningless.

The postal service should charge a lot more to companies that mail out junk mail that just ends up in the trash to offset the high cost of first-class postage. Save some trees too.
