Who was around in the desert when God gave his Commandments , only the Israelites than God freed from the Egyptians. Some people cannot grasp that fact, there were no gentiles around! Another certainty is that in the O.T., God was all for other peoples joining in. As we know you and I that God's message was not for Israel only but for all mankind, for those who want to follow him, And Why Not? Why do some people refuse to God's will today, God is our father in heaven and wants what is best for us always. yet they refuse his hand and reject his grace.
Its easier to just make accusations and call names than actually just stick with what the Bible says. When Jesus was tempted He stuck with the word of God, everything else God will sort out in His time. The names can't hurt us, its actually refection of where someone is spiritually.

Often, certain SDA people will use accusations and call names. They cannot be firm in their biblical teaching since they refute so much of the New Testament. This reflects the failed defense of a system that denies so much of scripture.

Thankfully, we who know Jesus know the truth. There is no other way to God except through Him.

There is nothing that says the law of God Exo20:6 was only given to Israel through Moses. Its God's commandments and all of the people of God keep it Rev14:12
The Law was given to Israel only.

The Commandments of Jesus was given to the Church.
Most of them are to be learned through what God gave Apostle Paul, John, and Peter after the Church age began.

As you claimed?
If the Law was given to all?
How were other nations to perform animal sacrifices in the Jerusalem temple?

Genez, these laws you mention about sacrifices you know very well they cannot be performed and are NO longer necessary, these are from the Law of Moses, specific for the israelites it does not mean however the commandments, God called the the covenant are invalid. Remember Jesus spoke of all ten commandments and a few more,. he even said to keep the commandments to enter into life. (Matthew 19:17) Jesus was clear about this. We have also to remember Jesus sent the 12 to all nations to preach and teach all he did and all he said.

I am sorry, sir. That is just too convenient.

I was brought up a Jew.
I find that many Gentiles have a generic view of the Law (with its commandments) something they just do not want to be bothered with.

Before the Cross took place Jesus taught as Rabbi.

After the Church age began Jesus gave his commandments through the likes of Paul, John, and Peter.
Jesus as a rabbi would have commanded his disciples to keep the Sabbath and to eat kosher if they wanted to not do so.

It was the Lord that told Peter (who was still living as a Jew) to stop only eating kosher.

Here was a command from Jesus to the new creation in Christ, Peter.
Peter was to keep his commandments.

Acts 10:9-16

About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city,
Peter went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat,
and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened
and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained
all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. Then a voice told him, “Get up,
Peter. Kill and eat.”

“Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” (kept kosher)

The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

It was Jesus who gave Moses the Law.
The commandments of the Law were from the Lord "through" Moses.

Moses was not the originator of the commands of the Law. The Lord was.
The Law was the Lord's commandments for Israel.
Moses was only the messenger.

I don't know who you were referring to when you say there were "no Gentiles around after the Exodus." The scriptures speak of a number of other races and tribes who went with Israel when they left Egypt.
Exodus 12:38 says: "A mixed multitude also went up with them, along with flocks and herds, a great number of livestock."

This verse reveals that, traveling alongside the Israelites, were a variety of non-Israelites (GENTILES) who joined with them in the Exodus. These individuals may have included Egyptians and other foreigners who were influenced by the plagues and the power of the God of Israel, choosing to align themselves with the Israelites rather than to stay in Egypt.

To become fully a PART OF ISRAEL other peoples had to renounce idolatry, be circumcised and commit to obey the terms of the covenant God made Israel at Sinai. Later, such converts were referred to as Proselytes. To be a part of the New Covenant, people of every nation and kindred have been commanded to REPENT of their sins and BELIEVE that Jesus death provided payment for their sins.
30 Although God overlooked the ignorance of earlier times, He now commands all people everywhere to repent. 31 For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”…(Acts 17:30)

Thank you for your response and I respect both your background and your sincerity. But I have to be honest with you, there are several significant errors in what you have written and each one deserves a careful and direct response.

you say Jesus Gave His Commandments Through Paul After the Cross

You say that after the Church age began Jesus gave His commandments through Paul, John and Peter. But this is a claim that Jesus Himself never made. What Jesus actually said before His ascension was this:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV)

All things that I have commanded you. Not all things that Paul will later command you. Not all things that My apostles will develop and expand beyond what I said. All things that I have commanded you. The commission Jesus gave His disciples was to teach what He had already taught. Not to replace it. Not to develop beyond it. Not to hand it over to a new authority. To teach what He commanded. His words. His teachings. His commandments. Everything He said while He walked among them.

And He had already declared with absolute finality what would happen to His words:

Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will by no means pass away. (Matthew 24:35 NKJV)

His words will not pass away. Not His pre-cross words replaced by post-cross apostolic development. His words. Permanent. Eternal. Governing. For every generation until He returns.

The Vision of Peter Was About Food

This is the most common and most serious misreading of Acts 10 in the entire New Testament and it needs to be corrected thoroughly because the text itself corrects it explicitly and without any ambiguity whatsoever.

The vision was not about food. Peter himself tells us what it was about. You did not need to guess. You did not need a theologian to interpret it. Peter interpreted it himself immediately after receiving it and his interpretation is recorded in the same chapter:

Then Peter opened his mouth and said in truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. (Acts 10:34-35 NKJV)

God shows no partiality. In every nation whoever fears Him is accepted. Peter was not saying God has abolished the dietary laws and everyone can eat whatever they like. Peter was saying God has shown him that Gentiles are not unclean. That the Gospel is for all people. That he should not call any person common or unclean.

And Peter says this explicitly in the very same passage just before he opens his mouth to preach to Cornelius:

Then he said to them you know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. (Acts 10:28 NKJV)

God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. Peter himself tells you what the vision meant. Not food. Men. Gentiles. The barrier between Jew and Gentile being broken down by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is so clear in the text that reading Acts 10 as a divine permission to eat unclean food requires ignoring Peter's own explicit interpretation of his own vision in the same chapter.

And here is the confirming detail that makes the food interpretation completely impossible. If the vision meant Peter could now eat whatever he liked why did he go immediately to the house of a Gentile soldier and preach the Gospel to him? Why was the outcome of the vision a sermon to Cornelius and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Gentiles rather than Peter going to a market and buying pork? Because the vision was never about food. It was about people. Peter said so himself.

The Kosher Laws Are the Same as the Ten Commandments

You are treating the dietary regulations, the kosher laws, as equivalent to the Ten Commandments and arguing that if one falls the other falls with it. But these are not in the same category and Scripture is very clear about the difference.

The Ten Commandments were written by God Himself with His own finger on tablets of stone. They were placed inside the ark of the covenant. God declared them His covenant five times in Scripture. (Exodus 34:28, Deuteronomy 4:13, Deuteronomy 5:2-3, Deuteronomy 10:4, 1 Kings 8:9). They predate Moses and Israel and are grounded in the creation order itself.

The dietary regulations were part of the Law of Moses written by Moses and placed beside the ark as a witness. (Deuteronomy 31:26). They were given specifically to Israel as covenant markers, as practical separations from surrounding pagan nations and as part of the ceremonial and civil system that pointed forward to Christ. They were never presented as eternal moral law applicable to all humanity. They were specifically and deliberately tied to Israel's identity as a separated nation.

The Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 addressed this distinction directly. When the question arose about what Gentile believers were required to observe the council gave four requirements. The Sabbath, which is one of the Ten Commandments, was not listed among the immediate requirements given. But as James noted immediately afterward Gentile believers would be hearing Moses read every Sabbath in the synagogues. (Acts 15:21). The assumption was continued engagement with the commandments. The dietary laws by contrast were addressed specifically because they were a barrier to table fellowship between Jewish and Gentile believers.

Jesus Taught Only as a Rabbi Before the Cross and His Teaching Was Superseded After?

This error is the most theologically dangerous of all because it attempts to divide Jesus against Himself and create a pre-cross Jesus whose teaching is replaced by a post-cross apostolic development.

But Jesus never presented Himself as merely a Rabbi whose teaching would later be supplemented or superseded. He presented Himself as the eternal Son of God with all authority:

All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
(Matthew 28:18 NKJV)

All authority. In heaven and on earth. Not temporary authority that would be transferred to apostolic successors. Not pre-cross authority that would be updated after the resurrection. All authority. Permanently. Eternally. In His own person.

And He declared with complete clarity that His words would be the standard of judgment on the last day:

He who rejects Me and does not receive My words has that which judges him. The word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. (John 12:48 NKJV)

The word that I have spoken. Not the word that My apostles will later develop. Not the word that Paul will write to the Corinthians or the Galatians. The word that I have spoken. His words. Spoken during His earthly ministry. Those words will judge every human being on the last day.

And those words included a very specific statement about the commandments and the standard for entering into life. Matthew 19:17. When the rich young ruler asked what he must do to have eternal life Jesus did not say keep the commandments until the cross and then a new system takes over. He said:

If you want to enter into life keep the commandments. (Matthew 19:17 NKJV)

And then He listed commandments from the Decalogue directly. From the Ten Commandments specifically. Murder, adultery, theft, false witness, honour your father and mother. These are not pre-cross temporary instructions from a Rabbi that were superseded after the resurrection. These are the words of the Son of God with all authority in heaven and earth declaring the standard of eternal life. And He said they stand until heaven and earth pass away:

For assuredly I say to you till heaven and earth pass away one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. (Matthew 5:18 NKJV)

Heaven and earth are still here. The jots and tittles have not passed.

part 2 pf my reply if was too long;

The Disciples Were Commanded to Teach Beyond What Jesus Said?

You suggest that the commission to go to all nations meant the apostles would develop new commandments beyond what Jesus taught. But as we have already seen the commission was explicit and unambiguous about what was to be taught:

Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:20 NKJV)

All things that I have commanded you. The apostles were not given authority to develop new doctrine beyond what Jesus commanded. They were given authority to carry what He commanded to all nations. The apostle John who walked with Jesus personally and understood his commission more clearly than anyone confirmed the standard in his own letter:

By this we know that we know Him if we keep His commandments. He who says I know Him and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3-4 NKJV)

Not Paul's commandments. Not apostolic developments. His commandments. The commandments of Jesus. And John confirmed what keeping them looks like:

For this is the love of God that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. (1 John 5:3 NKJV)

His commandments. Still binding. Still the evidence of genuine love for God. Not burdensome but not optional either.

What you have constructed is a theological framework that requires Jesus to be a temporary pre-cross Rabbi whose teaching was superseded by post-cross apostolic development, that misreads Peter's own explicit interpretation of his own vision, that conflates the dietary regulations of the Law of Moses with the eternal Ten Commandments declared by God as His covenant five times in Scripture, and that contradicts the explicit words of Jesus about the permanence of His commandments and their role as the standard of judgment on the last day.

Jesus was not a Rabbi whose authority expired at the cross. He is the eternal Son of God with all authority in heaven and earth. His words will judge every human being on the last day. His commandments are the evidence of genuine love for Him. And He said that if you want to enter into life you keep them.

That is not a pre-cross Jewish teaching. That is the eternal standard of the One who has all authority in heaven and earth and whose words will never pass away.

Well instead of deleting the law of God- God placed His laws in the hearts and minds of His people in the NC. Heb8:10 Why its still a sin to worship other gods or steal from our neighbor or break the least of these commandments- why Jesus said "whoever" are to break these commandments its not the path to reconciliation Rev22:14KJV but sin and judgement Mat5:19-30. Why would anyone who loves God want to break His commandments Exo20:6 John14:15 1John5:3

What does Ellen white has t do with what I wrote? NOTHING, please turn the page, I was speaking of Grace and the importance of Jesus words that too many reject and ignore.
Am I to understand that you deny that Ellen White had the gift of prophecy and could understand the meaning of scriptures through visions and revelations?

He is not SDA and has said that more than once. The Sabbath and the Ten Commandments did not come from EGW but from God Himself. Exo31:18NKJV Its the Testimony of God- God's works Exo32:16 it sad they not worthy for so many when they praise and glorify God Psa145:10.

People who become Adventist do not do so through EGW but by the Bible alone.

Jesus is God there is no dichotomy between the two or their laws, this is sadly a very deceptive teaching. As if Jesus taught go commit adultery as long as you don't have lust in your heart. He plainly taught not to break or teach others to break the least of these commandments and said its the path to sin and judgement Mat5:19-30
This is another straw man. I never said Jesus taught that person could physically commit adultery as long as they kept adultery out of their minds while they were doing it. This is as big of an absurdity as I have ever heard. Do you really have that little understanding of the meaning of words or are you just trying to obfuscate?

Well you're the one that keeps saying we do not have to keep the commandment of God, these are all God's commandments- they came in a unit of Ten that God placed together Deut4:13 Exo34:28 never the Ten recommendations or the Ten suggestions or if there is one commandment you feel is not for you, that one can be tossed aside why breaking one we break them all James2:10-12 and sin is the transgression of God's law 1John3:4. God's people keep all of them, because we trust God and what He says is for our own good Rev14:12 1John5:3

I have read many "revelations" of Ellen White that do not at all comport with the scriptures. Historically White was the founder of SDA and its main source of revelations and doctrines so you cannot distance yourself from her if you belong to her Church.

I said we must keep the laws of the covenant we have with God. Many commands that were given to Moses are impossible to keep since the temple was destroyed along with the priesthood and the system of sacrifices that went with it. The creation of the New Covenant makes the former one OBSOLETE which is why none of the Apostles commanded people to keep the dietary, ceremonial or civil laws of the prior covenant of Moses.

The Law James was referring to were the moral laws which are internal universal and work through the conscience to reveal to us whether a human choice is wicked or not. The Apostles often affirmed the moral laws which were not always identical to the ten commandments. Paul also affirmed the moral law but he did not teach that believers under the New Covenant have to keep Shabbat.
I follow the New Covenant with the help of the Holy Spirit. I reject your views because they are not consistent with the teachings of the Savior.

Is doing what God says is doing justice and righteousness moral in your eyes or up to man on what they feel is doing righteousness ? Who determines what is moral, us or God? Is there somewhere in the Bible that says if there is a commandment given directly by God and we think it’s not moral we can set it aside? Doesn’t that make ourselves our own god to determine this? Can you tell me which one of the Ten Commandments that cannot be kept because there is no earthy temple. The earthy temple laws were all the laws that Moses wrote down in a book that were besides the ark Deut31:24-26, not what was inside the ark, the Ten Commandments, the law that the blood covered for sin- that Jesus blood covers because the blood of animals could never take away sin Heb10:1-10 why Jesus ministers in His Heavenly Temple where the Ten Commandments are, under His mercy seat where justice and mercy will come together soon Exo20:6NKJV Rev11:18-19
