No such thinking was existing during the days of Genesis 5.
The calendar based life only came years later with the Law of Moses.
Then how does this make sense? Gen. 7:11 “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, in the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up and the windows of heaven were opened."

An interesting philosophical question. Does math have an eternal reality or is it linked the material realm? Was it necessary for humans to have math or is it something that humans invented for our own convenience, just like money. And if math was created, which form of math was created or were all forms. Historically there have been many bases to build math off of beyond our common options of either binary (base 2) or the more everyday base 10.

did God create mathematics, or did man?
is there a calendar implicit in the creation, or did humanity invent one whole cloth?

similar questions.

base numbers are beside the point; algebraic theory does not depend on which modulo space one works in. more fundamentally, are numbers like pi and e transcendental because God designed things so, or are they completely arbitrary unknowable values because of ignorant human whims and random happenstance in the development of an abstract human knowledge that has zero basis in the created universe but somehow manages to accurately describe it?

whose language is math, God's or man's?

While the LORD divided the light from the darkness, you can't divide by 0 by 1, you can divide 1 by 0, but you get 0; you can divide 1 by 1 and you get 1. When you divide the electromagnetic field which is a body of invisible light you get a point in the midst of the field where visible light emerges. When the light emerged from the sun it would have illuminated have of the earth's surface.

say what??

dividing the light from the darkness is not 1/0 ((which is infinite, not 0, please check your calculations)) -- division is created, discernable light vs discernable darkness.

an E or B field is not 'a body of invisible light' it's a multi-dimensional matrix describing the amplitude of EMF or magnetic flux at each point in space time.

what's this invisible light you speak of? secret photons wearing hoodies and baseball caps? maybe buying skittles and sprite at gas stations in FLA after curfew?

i'd like to see your math here.
and i'd also like you to explain what the physical mechanism of 'division' is that you are proposing, how it arises, and what you define as 'division'

what we say about physical cosmology needs to have a basis in observable physical reality. if we are just here saying, the flying spaghetti monster added spiritual parmesan cheese out of thin air on day 4, it's worthless. i could argue it's red pepper flakes and you cannot countermand me because neither argument has any basis at all.

you can divide 1 by 1 and you get 1

when you divide or multiply anything by the identity element ((1 in the algebraic space we normally work in)) nothing changes, by definition.

the division of light from ((not by)) darkness introduced a change.

This is an interesting philosophical question. The account in Genesis 1:1-2 is simple in English, but there are a lot of unused roots in Hebrew which cause trouble in determining exactly what is meant. Did God create out of nothing, plausible, or is He forming something already existent, matter/energy being another irreducible state much like consciousness (God/the fundamental soul stuff of all entities). Either could theoretically be possible, which would render mathematics as something independent of God and unfortunately recent science complicates the question. An all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, just and holy entity (essentially fitting our understanding of God) appears to be plausible if not outright probable but could raise new issues about quantum physics (as if it was freaky enough already).

At present, the only thing that appears certain is that God is outside of our concept of time which can be influenced by mass and/or relative velocity.

Moses wrote it. He had that ability to comprehend what a month is because he knew the Law.

In Genesis 5?

God did not see it as an important detail to mention.
Why should it matter to us today?

So answer the question, what light did God see in verse 4?

Try this one, can matter exist without space? The primordial atom was a particle of matter, so if matter cannot exist outside of space then explain how the primordial existed before the beginning of space and time?

Science recognizes matter/energy and space as both being fundamentals understandable only in terms of their own existence. What existed before the Big Bang is unknown and unknowable by definition.

The primeval atom existed before the big bang  Do your parents know your are up this late?
Gee, you are so smart, you know more with absolute certainty than any PhD physicist, either that or you lived in a fantasy world. No one with knowledge is certain what to call the source of the Big Bang nor what came before it. Grow up and admit your ignorance.

Methuseleh died same year Noah turned 600 years old, and the same year of the flood

If God wants us to know something? He will make it known.
His omniscience would tell him if we would need to know it.

So, we can rest assured, knowing that what is missing in Genesis 5? Was something not needed for us to know.

God will let us know things, but there is a fallacy associated with that statement. God does not promise to spoon-feed us knowledge. Rather He awaits to see how much we truly want to know the answer. Remember the parable of the man who knocks on his neighbor's door at night. He has to ignore the "go away" to get what he wants. Far too many people ignore Gpd's "go away" and write their questions off as "God does not want us to know" instead of, "God is not convinced we really want to know".

In my personal studies it took over 40 years to begin to get insights, but once they started coming the people who teach our ministers and others who teach us about the bible have been astounded at how I am putting things together and relating parts of the NT to each other and resolving issues that have been considered unresolvable. God waited until He was certain I was serious in my studies to answer my questions.

Ditto...

That would seem so insignificant considering people were living to be over 800 years old back then.
They were not thinking in terms of months and days back then, anymore than a billionaire would count his pennies.
From the beginning mankind has been exploring and studying nature and the earth and the heavens. Adam was noticing cycles of day and night and moon phases and variations in sun declination between winter to summer, and how plants flower and seed and germinate at certain seasons. You don’t think mankind would work out the number of days for a full cycle of moon phases, and work out when the best time of the year is for various gardening tasks and order their agriculture according to the regular cycles of moon and sun? Do you really think that before Mose,s or even before Noah, mankind was that oblivious to the world around them, and it’s cycles and could not count days?

Adam before his fall had no notion of seasons. He lived naked.

Like I said your words don't bother me, nor am I uncomfortable about sharing what I was taught.

But I do know this, it is error only that shrinks from inquiry, not truth.

Since you claim you have "knowledge" that no one knows what caused the big bang, then have you ever read the Catholic priest's hypothesis, he said it was the primordial atom from which all things within this world originated from.

But these thing I consider by faith to be immutable , matter can exist without mass, but mass cannot exist without. And mass cannot exist without space even if there is space with mass. And yes, I test the words, whether the be true and I hold fast to those that do.

A person doesn't have to know everything to understand principles, just a little faith, so if somebody had to teach you to read the word of man, who taught you how to read the Word of God? And as Genesis 1:1 illustrates that the answer is one in the same.

If the primordial atom existed before the beginning of time, which didn't begin until it rapidly expanded to form the known and observed universe. so while he claims his hypothesis give you the right to deny God, it will require you to.

While Lemaitre never said specifically what shape the universe was, there is no sense telling you it was spherical 🫣. But if you care crack open your cosmic egg, enjoy...

I trust that you then know that name "cosmic egg" for the beginning of the universe dates well back into the BCE era.
