I just created a Christian AI Dark Trap song called "False gods", probably not good for the soul either.

The message is that Yahweh reigns supreme over false gods and religions.

Para Christian?
Don't you mean Soul, or Gospel?

Yes, the Chipmunks were in the humor/novelty genre. Chippettes?

By para-Christian I mean songs that promote Christian morality but are not CCM because they do not mention Jesus.
Michael W. Smith composed a few of this genre (cf. "Picture Perfect", "Go West, Young Man") as well as his CCM and praise songs.

Chippettes were the girl group version of the Chipmunks
They crossed over two genres.

Music (by itself) is neutral; it is neither holy nor evil. Musical style does not indicate spiritual intent or influence.

Lyrics may honour God, exalt evil, or be secular. The intention of the composer(s) and musician(s) may be good, evil, or neutral.
Interesting..
"Sittin' in the mornin' sun I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come Watching the ships roll in And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah"

Yeah.. to us here on this earth .... this song.. its not evil bad at all....its has nothing what so ever to do with GOD. This is what neutral?

There is no such thing. GOD has always been yes? We have the fall Satan Adam and Eve sin .. death. This is not the real realm. All this will be gone. Even Christ said.. on earth as it is in heaven. How is it in heaven? According to scripture, all of heaven—including angels, elders, and creatures—perpetually worships, sings praises, and gives glory to God. Who would sing about about anything else?

We only think these things "neutral" on this earth...this fallen earth. On earth as it is in heaven. If its not of Him.. what is it then? There is no scripture for "music by it self is neutral". Its hard to understand for some it seems. Take a National Geographic Mag. Christ looks through it and puts it down says "no life in it". Some don't understand that. We look at it and wow very nice cool! Some would say its not evil at all. No life in it.

We can sing read watch do anything we want and ..shh listen? Yeah God says nothing (He did in His word). But your free. You can sing about listen to anything you want...for you. Not trying to do anything here.. oh music and me hand in hand. I don't know how to say it.. I know the songs.. the old songs.. the words. But something in me.. does not want to listen sing about anything other then Him.

Yet.. will there be boats in heaven? Some kind maybe sure I think. Christ walks up to you.. "what you doing?" you start to singing "
Sittin' in the mornin' sun I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come Watching the ships roll in". Sounds nice huh.. at the heart it must be for Him... as I see it

'Sittin' on the Dock of the bay' is a blues song. It's about the futility of life on earth, nothing happening, wasting time.

Blues is a yearning for the spiritual, an expression of it.

'What I've got they used to call the blues - nothing is really wrong, feeling like I don't belong' - Karen Carpenter. It's depression.

If you can't sing the blues, or appreciate them then you probably have first world problems only.

The truly joyous will only think on things lovely, things that are good and are of noble report. Some of us aren't quite there yet.

I have been pondering this issue for a while in terms of whether it is permissible to do things that are recreational/for fun
(such as games, hobbies, music, etc.), and your stating it in terms of neutrality prompted this insight:

The NT indicates that food is neutral (Rom. 14:2-3, 1Cor. 10:25-27, 1Tim. 4:4-5, Mark 7:19),
which implies that other things also may be neutral, if they do not promote/encourage/approve of immorality/atheism.
I will add that solution to my threads.
Thanks!

Well things aren't always black and white.
It would be easier if things were, but that's not possible. There will always be shades of grey, and light shining in the darkness, as well as shadows of things to come.

You made me realize that my song "When You're Alone" could qualify as blues as well as thrash metal.
It contains the line, Sadness is when you're alone, where you don't belong, even in a throng, when love is gone.

I admit I listen to Dark Wave on Pandora at times. Yea, I can sense that it's not good for my soul.

I must admit I do not know what all these terms mean. Even so, my last song used "upbeat darkwave"
as one of my style prompts. Another in the same version was "trap beat." Again? No idea what it meant.
But after ten hours of trying to get a decent rendition form my lyrics? Yeah. I was willing to try such
things. And it worked. LOL Another song I randomly selected genres from a very long list of offered
defaults. Sufi post grunge. Sure, why not? Haha. Because the generators were not giving me anything
I could use, time and time again. The Sufi post grunge was not that bad either! But, my tastes vary
from those of others, and in composing and generating songs, I do hope others will listen to them,
and find some redeeming quality in them. Really I hope they feed the spirits of those who listen.

Some of you may have heard this new song already... "upbeat darkwave" and "trap beat" LOL.

if a band intentionally makes music evil, then the music is evil. why would a Christian listen to that? motley true & acdc are some of the biggest offenders along with ozzy. since Christians are indwelt with the the Holy Spirit, we have the H.S.'s guidance on what is Godly or ungodly. in 1990, i was still catholic but my spirit told me to throw out some evil music & i did. for the past 30 years, three are death metal, black death metal, doom, occult, sonic horror, hardcore grunge types of music, i mean NOISE. i don't know any Christian listening to that garbage.

Karlon,
I hope our paths cross one day .

I recall in the 90s there was an actual rock band called Garbage. Looks like they still together...and touring. One of their songs was called Stupid Girl.

I think it was just in rebellion to their parents, as most rock bands are. Their parents probably said what you are playing is garbage, and so they named the band after what their parents called them.

Actually rock bands where the lead singer is female shrieking can be a lot more listenable than a male screaming his lungs out.

He's the one who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Don't know what it means
And I say yea
