“When we die?
And, it takes place before the resurrection?”

what ?

“What will go to heaven as ourselves?
It will be our souls.”

….. right we are the souls already
You missed the point I was making.

There will be no body.
Yet? We remain who we are - - as a soul!

Souls without a body can be seen and heard in heaven!

That was the reason I quoted Revelation 6:9-11~

you might have actually missed what I was showing

Your conclusion “There will be no body.”

Paul’s explaination

“But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? but God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

There are also celestial bodies,

and bodies terrestrial:

but the glory of the celestial is one,

and the glory of the terrestrial is another
.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.

There is a natural body,

and there is a spiritual body.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:35, 38, 40-44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s not that we won’t have a body we will have a glorified body . Not this old corrupt and dying one but an incorruptable permanent one

“who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

a change not a subtraction . we aren’t losing a body we’re getting a better one

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:51-53‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Aweee. Ot going to be wandering soirits without a body to dwell in but we’re going to be complete souls with a body and spirit just like in the beginning before they were corrupted through the flesh

Your conclusion “There will be no body.”

What I said, is that took place before the Resurrection.
There will be no body until then.
Then, the souls will be given a glorious body to be in.

Prob something So Big You just can't see it. Image of God
Amen , the image of God

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But then there’s a glorified body also ……

“and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17:2, 5-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“There are also celestial bodies,

and bodies terrestrial:

but the glory of the celestial is one,

and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

…it is sown in dishonour;

it is raised in glory:

it is sown in weakness; ( Jesus died on the cross ) it is raised in power:( but he walked out of the tomb in glory )

it is sown a natural body;

it is raised a spiritual body.

There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:40, 43-44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Where is he ?,prob in the presence of God behold that

what ?

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the image God is ?

Just walk dog and shadow man following me it just wild how big a shadow can get just out that fact of shadow out to behold

No the Soul Where is he ?,prob in the presence of God
behold that

The soul is the man ……

Man didn’t suddenly come to possess a soul , man became a soul . That’s been my point all along we don’t have a soul that can be saved , we are the soul that can be saved

If we we ignore this

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, ( body )

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;( spirit )

and man became a living soul.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

again ot doesn’t say “ and man suddenly now possessed a soul “ but that man now became a living soul “

The point being this

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Is the same as this

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭

Same as this

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“ you can be saved “ is the same as saying “ your soul can be saved “ because a person …… is what a soul is. It’s not two different things just two terms a whole person is a soul . They have a body and a spirit . They are a soul .

Salvation is first spiritual and comes with a promise of a new and glorofoed body which makes up a soul a spirit and body .

We’re going to be saved . Our souls are going to be saved , we the people are going to be saved we aren’t going to be floating around but we’re going to have bodies because souls have a body and spirit

Our current body is doomed because of sin but not our spirit yet that can be saved by grace and through faith ( gods grace not the fraudulent version ) and at that in Christ we have received a promise for new bodies made for eternal life on a new earth where God is once again going to dwell with us like in Eden …..

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1, 3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

awe aren’t going to be in heaven forever if we go there at all . God is starting again making all things new biblically the story begins where it ends man together with god in an earthly paradise without death and having the tree of life and gods intimate presence among and with us forever

with a new earth will come a new body. Who’s in heaven now ? They are the spirits of men and also yea some souls as well who have already been resurrected just after Jesus was

I think probably you’re talking about the spirit of man during the time between thier death and resurrection ? When they are absent from the body ?

“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:6, 8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Living soul makes one image what a dead soul is?
.living Soul is Ruach of God Himself

A living soul is a soul that is spiritually alive.
To be spiritually alive, a soul needs a human spirit as the spiritual connector to God.

An unregenerate soul is dead. No human spirit until regeneration.
No ability for a spiritual connection with God.

That is why Jesus referred to unregenerate people (who were physically alive) as being 'dead.'

Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests,
but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
He said to another man, “Follow me.”
But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
Jesus said to him, “Let the (spiritually) dead bury their own (physically) dead,
but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

Luke 9:58-60

The question for me is not whether Scripture uses the words “body,” “soul,” and “spirit”—it clearly does. The question is whether those words are describing three separate parts of a person, or different ways of describing the same inner life from different angles.

In the Hebrew Scriptures, terms like heart, soul, and spirit are often used interchangeably to describe the inner condition of the person. Even in the verses you listed, “heart” and “spirit” appear together in ways that overlap rather than define separate compartments.

Genesis 2:7 is especially important here. It says that God formed man from the dust and breathed into him, and man became a living soul. That suggests two components—what comes from the earth and what comes from God—resulting in a living being. The dust itself includes the physical body along with the natural capacities of the mind, awareness, and consciousness. But it is only when God breathes into man that he becomes a “living soul”—a being in true relationship with God.

From that perspective, the issue in Genesis is not that one “part” of man died, but that what came from God was no longer present in the same way after the fall. The text emphasizes separation from God’s presence rather than the death of a specific component. God did with Adam something that He did not do with any other living creature -He breathed into him His righteousness, His Holiness, His Spirit that is only found within Him. This is the "image" of God that Adam was created in. But when Adam disobeyed God, that same "image," the Holiness, or Righteousness, His Spirit had to return back to God. Sin and His righteousness cannot occupy the same space. But it was ALWAYS God's Spirit - Adam, like any man, has no rigtheousness of his own.

So rather than seeing man as a three-part structure, it seems more consistent to see Scripture describing a unified person, whose life and relationship with God depend on what comes from Him—not on separate internal compartments that can live or die independently.

I would question whether or not consciousness is associated with the physical, and I would challenge that the "image of God" aspect vanished. Scripture never claims that after Adam's action that humanity was no longer in the image of God, merely that it was in a fallen state, tarnished as it were as opposed to shining brightly.

In Genesis 2, a body was present before any soul or spirit was united with it.

It was a lifeless body. Not a person.

So, I would say that what you stated?
Can not be as you were thinking it might be concerning our inner life.

Though the state of our body can have an effect on our inner life.

grace and peace ..............

It could be argued man is no longer in God's image. I'm not, but there is this.

Genesis 5:3
When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
