A. When you asked
by what standard the ungodly will be judged I did not need to come up with anything new. The Bible already tells us
why people will be judged and the subject of keeping Shabbat is never brought up.
This [judgment] will take place when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels 8 in blazing fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not KNOW GOD and DO NOT OBEY THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
9They will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His might,…
(2 Thessalonians 1:8-9)
B. First of all, those who will be judged are those who do not
KNOW God
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." To this the beloved Apostle John added:
18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.
(John 1:17-18)
C. Even those who have amassed a great deal of knowledge ABOUT Him through studying the Torah do not necessarily
KNOW HIM
Speaking of the Forerunner, Jesus said:
35 He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. 36 But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father has sent me.37And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen
(John 5:36)
D. Then, turning to the Rabbis, Jesus said:
38 and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent.
39 You search [pour over] the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, 40 yet YOU REFUSE TO COME TO ME THAT YOU MAY HAVE LIFE.
(John 5:38-40)
The Messianic
good news is that if we REPENT of sin and put our FAITH in Jesus we can be forgiven and inherit eternal life
E. Notice that Jesus does not consign anyone to eternal judgment for not keeping Shabbat or the other laws of the Mosaic covenant.
The text says they will be condemned for NOT
OBEYING the
GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
His
gospel includes REPENTANCE and then putting ones
FAITH in the Lord Jesus to save them.
Faith means not only
holding the correct belief ABOUT Jesus. It entails something personal: TRUSTING in, putting our CONFIDENCE in RELYING and DEPENDING upon HIM
to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.
F. From the rest of what you wrote. it sounds like you cannot wait to get your hands on that Rod of Iron so you can start beating all the rebellious sheep who do not accept your (
false) gospel. Be careful with that, when Moses lost his temper and started beating the sheep instead of SPEAKING to the rock he was barred from entering into the Promise
there are a dozen things in your response I would like to address but too many for this blog
Yes I am eager for Christ to force the entire world in to obeying the 10
I hate all the lies
I hate all the murder
I hate the trafficking of children & women
I hate pedophiles
I hate politics
I hate war
there is only ONE WAY, the way Jesus Christ taught and lived- and the only "details" found in the Word showing that WAY is Torah.
there was no need to mention the Sabbath or murder or the other 8, they are clearly shown through out the Word.
Jesus did not come to condemn and punish, that time is coming it is knows as
The time of the end
Question, for what reason will Jesus Christ put to death 90% of the earth by the time He sets foot on the Mount of Olives?
They did not accept Him in to their hearts????
So, you never mentioned the exact standard we must live up to to be judged righteous and acceptable to God.
If my desire is to be in the Kingdom, what exactly am I do or not do? I do not want a bunch of fuzzy words I want the exact WAY I am to live and to conduct myself.
the false doctrine of GRACE, means acceptance just as we are -- nothing to do or change
One question I am going to start asking here, "before baptism, did you repent of your sins?"
what is sin and does that mean once you utter the words "I repent of my sins"
does that imply sin is no longer a problem for you?
You do not need to worry or be concerned about sin any longer? Is that what grace means? no concern for sin.
things must be logical -- I can not understand, if sin must be repented of, for Christ to accept you, offer you the Holy Spirit and eternal life, how does sin vanish from this picture?
No one yet has answered this one: if the whole world only obeyed 3 or 4 of the 10, no lies, no murder, no stealing, no adultery
the world would be at peace for the first time is 6000 years, how is that a bad thing?
If I do not transgress the last 6, how is that a bad thing? I want my grandchildren to live in that world, not this one.
