Allow me to sum it up for you. Man is saved through faith and not by works (Ephesians 2:8,9; yet genuine faith is (evidenced) by works. (James 2:14-26)
*Jesus Christ saves us through faith based on the merits of His finished work of redemption "alone" and not based on the merits of our works.* (
Romans 3:24-28; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9)
It is through faith "in Jesus Christ alone" (and not based on the merits of our works) that we are justified on account of Christ (
Romans 4:5-6; 5:1; 5:9); yet the faith that justifies does not remain alone (unfruitful, barren) if it is genuine. (James 2:14-26) *Perfect Harmony*
This is better. No more faith alone justification apart from works.
Now let's clarify together:
Allow me to sum it up for you. Man is saved through faith and not by works (Ephesians 2:8,9; yet genuine faith is (evidenced) by works. (James 2:14-26)
We are saved through faith, not by works of our own righteousness and sin.
Titus{3:4}
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done,
Faith in Christ is without works of our own righteousness. Faith in Christ is only with works of God's righteousness, and not with evil deeds.
You wouldn't say that anyone has saving faith while doing evil, correct?
You have spoken of having faith alone, and having faith in Christ alone. Will you not also preach having faith in Christ and doing good alone?
*Jesus Christ saves us through faith based on the merits of His finished work of redemption "alone" and not based on the merits of our works.* (
Romans 3:24-28; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9)
Faith in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross alone, doesn't save any man. Only faith in Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection can justify a man.
And confirming again, no man is saved nor justified by his own works of righteousness and sin. Man's own works without faith in Christ has no justification with God.
Isa 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
You do make difference between works of man's own righteousness without Christ, vs good works by faith in Jesus Christ, correct? You're not saying all works are the same before God, whether done with faith in Christ or without?
It is through faith "in Jesus Christ alone" (and not based on the merits of our works) that we are justified on account of Christ (
Romans 4:5-6; 5:1; 5:9);
Yes. Faith in Christ alone, is not faith alone in Christ.
No man can have faith alone in Christ without works, because no man can have faith in Christ without doing good.
Faith in Christ alone is believing Jesus is the only true Christ of God, and there is none other with God:
Jhn 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jhn 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Having faith in Christ alone, as the only true Son of God, is never without works. Having faith without works is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:17
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
yet the faith that justifies does not remain alone (unfruitful, barren) if it is genuine. (James 2:14-26) *Perfect Harmony*
'Remain' alone? So, you are preaching a hybrid of faith alone salvation? Salvation begins with having faith alone without works, but does not continue alone without works? Salvation is not
only by faith alone, but also justified by faith with works?
The problem is that faith alone is always dead, being without works. And dead faith cannot save anyone.
James{2:14}
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?...Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Faith alone can never be with works, else alone is no more alone, or works is no more works...
The question at this time, is why must 'Alone' be attached to saving faith? Why not just preach the Scriptures of salvation through faith, and justification by faith in Jesus Christ?
Why must faith 'alone' be preached at all, except being dead without works? Faith alone being made alive and can save is not just modifying Scripture, but is turning God's words upside down.
Isa 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good; that put darkness for light; that put bitter for sweet!
There is no faith alive, that has no works. Living faith is living by faith, not faith without works:
The just shall live by faith.
