Not for nothing is it called a derangement syndrome. They blather on and on about Calvin and then
insist I believe what I do because of him when he has absolutely nothing to do with what I believe.

Your constant use of derogatory terms towards those who disagree with your presentation, determines a forgone conclusion of arguing in a personal matter.

It does not seem you can stick to the op, which is actually about Calvinism so no surprise people use the term, without your pictures adored with scripture that is taken out of context.

A person who disagrees with your beliefs, which sound just like Calvinism whether or not you care to identify with that monkier, is not deranged nor do they have a syndrome. No one is blathering or misidentifying what you believe since you have posted what you believe many times. You say you don't identify with Calvinsim, but don't you hold to the total inability to respnd to Christ that is one of the points of Calvinism? Total depravity? Feel free to say otherwise, but that point alone screams Calvinism and it is not reflected in biblical concepts.

No one is insisting on hanging a label on you, but the nasty comments that you sling at us sound very angry and are not helping you to 'explain' what it is you say you believe. But like I said, I seem to remember you do believe in total depravity, so that is a main point. I could be wrong and you can correct me, but no one has any kind of derangement syndrome and your words do not sound like you care to have any discussion but prefer to sling mud that is undeserved. You sound so prickly that I think some people prefer to not engage you at all and that would include me, but it's really over the top to say we have a syndrome or we are deranged.

Yes....

The Spirit needed to suppress your flesh before your soul could be able to choose to believe in Jesus Christ.
But that was not receiving the Indwelling Holy Spirit to live in you.
That was just the Holy Spirit setting you up for making your choice to believe possible.

Once you believed?
THEN! The Holy Spirit took up permanent residence in your body.
The Spirit is needed to cause and give Faith in Christ

There is a question about Paul literally killing Christians with his own hands.

Since he was a Pharisee, he could not personally commit murder.

When Paul said he killed, he may have meant he advocated for their death, thus he had them killed.

In Paul's defense before King Agrippa he stated: "I not only locked up many of the saints in prison after receiving authority from the chief priests, but when they were to be put to death I cast my vote against them." (Acts 26:10, ESV)

Yes, there is a hierarchy in the level of involvement in death of another both morally and by law.

I do think Paul carried strong feelings of guilt that emerged here and there in his writings.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't Paul the one holding the garments of those stoning Stephen? I did little reasearch on v.10 there and it would appear that Paul is saying he cast a vote for the death in keeping with the others in the Sanhedrin, which he would have been a member .of in order to cast a vote. Paul describes his emotions and the utter hatred he felt for the Christian converts; he tried to get them to blasphme and renounce Christ.

By the way, the stoning of Stephen was actually an illegal act in violation of Roman law.

The Holy Spirit is the author of my beliefs.

I find many free willers are devoid of Spiritual insight.

OK, so I found this response to another poster. The Holy Spirit is not the author of confusion so either you or He is wrong. You will not find Calvinism in the gospel or as a gospel (as the op seems to believe) You will not total depravity and you will not find limited atonement and by you, I mean generally and not you personally.

I believe you may find those who disagree with your presentation to be devoid of spiritual insight or you would not apper to hold such distain towards them. We are responsible for our words; words have meaning. You are no more in a position to judge others of being spiritualy blind, then anyone here can judge you and say you are not saved.

I do not believe that the matter of predestination concerns salvation from our understanding. Frankly, I do not believe we understand completely all that entails, but I do know that God knows the end from the beginning. He is outside of time and it
is very conceivable that he simply foreknows and therefore states predestination. I cannot state that as a fact but it certainly
offers an explanation, that, frankly, should not be mocked because no one here is or has, any knowledge of our Creator that
is beyond the revelation we already have.

Why doesn't God give everyone a similar experience to Paul? That would be a "shock" to satan and his angels.

God can do it, and if He genuinely wants all to be saved, why doesnt He? Free will? That didn't stop Him from stopping Paul

You do a good job of avoiding scripture truth

My point is clear, no where do we find Christ Jesus teaching people they could not believe unless God gifted them belief first.

Is there a place where Jesus contradicts himself, red letter words, I would like to know them please.

It is much worse than just avoiding Scripture truth with these folks.

You sure about that? People may indeed be avoiding scripture, but maybe that would be you and a few others here

No one can say otherwise without false judgement and I for one, am not judged by you.

The Holy Spirit convicts of sin that people may turn to Christ.

In John 16:8, And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit “When He [the Spirit] comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” (ESV).

So sin, righteousness and judgement are the territory of the Holy Spirit. He is reproving sinners; those without Christ. There is no scripture that states that God places his HOLY spirit into an unregenerate vessel so that they are saved. This, is where Calvinism really falls flat on it's face. God does not regenerate the unregenerate apart from their repentance and acceptance of Christ's death and resurrection on their behalf.

Why convict the world of sin when God is just going to skip over that and regenerate all these sinners? Do Calvinists not realize that the Holy Spirit is Holy as is God? Did you miss that? He will not, does not and has no persuasion from God, to replace the work of Christ and save those who repent of their sin and accept Christ's work on their behalf.

Why did Christ die if God does not care if a person repents or not and is going to save them in spirt of themself?

There is no logic to such an equation; it does not add up, lacks biblical authority and denies the reason for Christ's death.

One thing is for sure >>>> this does NOT in any way support this idea of God picking people arbitrarily and then causing them so believe.

In the right context God does cause some to believe. Just not arbitrarily from the foundations of the World. He does take true OT believers to a NT faith. He opened Lydia's heart so that she could believe. She was already an OT believer, predestined to be a NT believer. Cornelius, He commanded Peter to go to him and preach the Gospel to him and his household.

If you think about it, even today we are predestined in the smaller context. This is a predestination of our being conformed to Christlikeness.

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

And a sealed predestination of promise.

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

I simply believe that true OT believers are predestined in that same way to be NT believers, so that they can be born again and justified, and begin that process of being conformed to Christlikeness.

John 6:37,39 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

So, is it your contention that when someone trained in your sects seminary talks they deliver to you the Holy Spirit?

Romans 9 verse 18; John 6 verse 44; John 6 verse 65; John 6 verse 37; John 6 verse63; Titus 3 verse5 ~ God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. He saved us because of His mercy, through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
Calvin would be proud.
