Is disobeying God sinful?

If God commands us to not fear, is fear disobedience to God?

If God did not give us a spirit of fear, where does it come from?

If the fearful will be cast into the lake of fire, is fearfulness righteous or sinful?
Have you never read that the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of all Wisdom? Is it Fear or Cowardice that God hates?

Calvin did with his fake version of Christianity what the moslems do with their religion which is to turn their religion in to governmental tyranny
Also sounds like Roman Catholicism. Are you a Catholic? You believe some of the same things they do.

No you did not.

Do you believe that people who reject Calvinsim and clones of Calvinism are saved if the totally reject the doctrine?

That is the question and if you do not answer it, I will conclude that you do not believe we are saved. Why else would you hesitate to answer something that is clearly defined ?
It depends. Rejecting Calvinism or not doesn't save anyone. Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ does. If someone rejects Calvinism but believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, they are saved. Likewise, if someone believes the tenets of Calvinism and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, they are saved.

One of them said Paul could not personally commit murder because he was a pharisee. LOL

Paul (before he got born again) and Calvin both did not personally commit the sin of murder.
They directed others to do the dirty deed so they are just as guilty of murder as the one's doing the actual act.

Difference being Paul actually got born again, being cleansed of his sin and he walked with the Lord going forward and did not return to a life of sin.

Calvin may have gotten born again at one point, but he obviously backslid and became a servant of the devil which is obvious b y all the things he believe and did that were in opposition to what the Lord teaches in His Word.

I'm not a big fan of getting spiritual teaching from a murder who does not have the Spirit of God in them, but apparently that is what some people enjoy. It's like follow Charles Manson or something!

1 John 3:15
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

Calvin not only hated people, he went the extra mile and had them whacked!

Well then, create your own posts and don't quote me because I prefer facts. Sometimes the ignore feature really does help.

Those that keep idols such as John Calvin worship won't be with the real Christians in Heaven.

The catholics have idolize Mary, and the calvinites idolize their boy Calvin.

A. First of all, I think it is misleading to describe human beings as GENERATING, as if it were some kind of ability or power we can produce and utilize to save ourselves. It seems to me you are attempting to re-define FAITH as a sort of WORK even though Paul said clearly faith is not a work. I do not know WHY you said this but it seems consistent with Luther's idea that man is so helpless that he cannot repent and believe (though this was the gospel kerygma)

The entire post is well stated.
I particularly appreciate this section.
It is a doctrine which renders the Gospel message impotent, I cannot see any way around this fact.

Calvin did not murder anyone any more than Paul did. Do you reject Paul's teachings too?

Paul wrote 23% to 28% of the entire New Testament. Some say 25% and others one third.

I agree.

So then I do not understand the reason for the vitriol when it is posted.

Please clarify though they must gifted "belief" correct?

You go buddy. I don't agree with the way you expound on your beliefs. I especially do not agree when you quote me and then go on.

Interesting list, but there's a big difference between a petty insult and a righteous rebuke.

Insults usually come from pride or just wanting to tear someone down because someone is mad.

Jesus wasn't doing that here. As God, he was just stating facts about their spiritual condition. For example, in Revelation 3:19, Jesus says, "Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline." The harsh words were meant to drive them to repentance, not hurt them.

Think about it like this. If a doctor tells you that you have a tumor, it breaks your heart to hear, but it's not an insult. It’s just the truth.

That's what Jesus is doing with the Pharisees. He's stripping away their self-righteousness so they realize they actually need help. It fits perfectly with what he said in Mark 2:17: "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick." He had to use sharp words to show them they were spiritually sick.

Context is everything here. Notice how almost every single one of those lines is aimed right at the religious elites?

In the ancient world, this kind of sharp debating style was totally normal for prophets. Jesus wasn't insulting people to be mean. He was using shocking words to break through their arrogance.
Not using petty school yard insults so to hurt someone's feelings.

Not proven by scripture and in fact Ephesians 2:8 makes it clear that the gift is salvation.
The gift is administered through faith. The source of the salvation is also the source of the faith...God. You cannot separate the means of the gift from the exercise of it.

I know. Most people cannot tell the difference.

I asked someone a very simple question recently, the result of which

was like I had stepped on a land mine with all their petty insults.

A torrent which they defended as their right to expression and free
speech etc while wanting me to shut up... just like so many here.

Not shown by scripture...unless you mean the power of His words and the Gospel... completely separated from any system of unconditional election.
I would like to see a verse articulating the free will of the natural man. Oh! There are none. Carry on...

But, there are plenty saying otherwise. You do understand lack of ability to choose in terms of addiction, but
unfortunately, the rigidity with which you hold your beliefs do not allow you to see the correlation to slavery to sin.

I have told you this before Magenta, and given you verses, i guess you ignored them. The Bible does not have to use the exact phrase "free will" to teach that we have a choice. It shows that truth throughout Scripture by God's commands, invitations, warnings, and judgments. If people had no real choice, these would have no meaning.

Jesus said:

If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from myself.(John 7:17)

Jesus speaks of a person's willingness. He calls each person to choose whether they will do God's will.

He also said:

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

An invitation can be accepted or refused.

Jesus also said of Jerusalem:

...how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! (Matthew 23:37)

Jesus was willing. They were not. That is a choice.

God said through Moses:

I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live.(Deuteronomy 30:19)

Joshua told the people:

Choose you this day whom ye will serve. (Joshua 24:15)

God also said:

Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions... Why will ye die...? (Ezekiel 18:30-32)

God calls people to repent because they can either respond or refuse.

From the beginning, Adam was given a command:

...of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it. (Genesis 2:17)

A command only has meaning if obedience and disobedience are both possible. Do you get that?

Throughout the Bible, God calls people to hear, believe, repent, obey, choose, and follow Him. He rewards those who obey and judges those who refuse. If human beings had no real choice, these commands and judgments would make no sense.

The burden of proof is not on those who believe Scripture teaches human choice. The burden is on anyone claiming that God commands people to do what they are completely incapable of choosing to do.
