Thats the thing brother,I am not an ancient Israelite, so I do not know the complete story. They saw YHWH as too sacred to spell out. That word was replaced with "Lord". Baal means Lord but in the same way as modern usage in the UK, where there are Lords still. Israelites succumbed to Baal worship so its not surprising if they considered Baal as Lord. No one in the UK considers "Lord" as anything but a formal title, except perhaps some of the Lords themselves.
I'm not talking about any LORD..The LORD in The Old Testament is just an English transLITERATION of 'YEHOVAH', who is described as The Self-Existent Eternal God, also the proper name of God.. So this is The Most High right?
This is Who I speak of.. Not the meaning of the different words that are translated to 'Lord', but why YEHOVAH, which is used in ALL CAPITAL, Different from every other 'Lord'..
Why has this been replaced with "Yahweh", who is clearly a different deity..
That's my question and problem..
I dont think what the Jews say or think is important at all, because :
(1 Thessalonians 2:14) For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
(1 Thessalonians 2:15) Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men.
I think this point of view that a lot of people have and share, is holding the Jews as the absolute and ultimate authority on Scripture.. This can cause a lot of problems..
By the way, the scripture I quoted is from Paul, who is a Jew, of the tribe of Benjamin, and a Pharisee, who persecuted Christians
