As a young Christian when I started Bible college?
I did not know any better.
I thought the pastor's job was to exegete the old English of the KJV so I could finally understand it.

The old English allows for way too much subjective and erroneous thinking.
Any uneducated fool can fake teaching from it without much fear of someone knowing he made an error.

IMHO.....

I grew up on the KJ so I am very familiar with it. Then it was the NIV which so many turned to. I use the ESV now.

There are some KJV threads in the forum wherein people declare that version is as inspired as the original authors were inspired by God Himself. I mean, what do you do with that? You almost have to pinch yourself to make sure you were awake when you read such a statement.

I understand that the ESV pulls from the earliest manuscipts including those found at Qumran; the dead sea scrolls. Too many people think the Bible is their personal authority for hitting others over the head with it. I was taught to try to think independantly so I tend to appreciate teaching that reflects on the historicity of the original writers and how they thought of the world around them which, I find, gives a much better understanding of what is written.

I never actually knew about Calvinism until I learned about it here.

Gal 5:22 teaches Faith is the fruit of the Spirit !
In your King James it says that.
Even the corrected New King James version disagrees and says it this way...

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness...

Go ahead if you wish.
Hide behind the error and act like you can care less about the actual meaning.

If you would like to learn from a rare pastor/scholar, who regularly quoted the King James to start that days lesson...
But, would then proceed to exegete and give a corrected translation.
It becomes a real eye opener.
And, best of all... You will find yourself pleased to find that passages that gave us problems make total sense when correctly translated.

You can take a peek here. https://rbthieme.org/about-us

Grace and peace!

I know what they asked and I know Jesus reply. Now if you condition your salvation on anything you did, congrats, you are basing your salvation on your works, totally contrary to Grace Salvation by Christ alone.
So what did you do to get saved? Sit there and absorb the gospel through your skin? Did God force you to get saved against your will?

Is God loving those He casts into hell?
God hates evil.... After all that God did by His grace to make their souls free of the dominance of the sin nature?

And, they still reject God? Then its not sin motivating them because the sin nature was abated.
That means it is their own free choice, and not a driving impulse from their sin nature.

That makes it not sin in that case. That makes it just like Satan was when he chose to reject God from a perfect state.
That is why Jesus could not pay for evil. Evil is the root cause of God condemning a soul.

None of which deals with the question. Care to try the actual question?

It should amaze and sadden us,to read how we speak to one another here.
What do hateful remarks prove?

Maybe a reminder is in order. Take a deep breath and find peace.

Who has never heard of Jesus Christ?

NOBODY. EVERY unbeliever is without excuse and will be without excuse.

When humans don't fulfill their Opportunities and privileges of witnessing the Lord Jesus Christ........The Holy Spirit WILL.

He is God, He will leave none with an excuse. He will get His Gospel out......Supernaturally.

Us humans fail and don't fulfill our mission. God never fails.

I explained how everyone is without excuse, because God's requirement for salvation is indicated via general revelation per Rom. 1:20.

You failed to explain how did those who lived B.C. heard of the name Jesus Christ?
Ditto regarding those who lived A.D. without the Gospel.
Merely saying "supernaturally" explains nothing.

Gospel Truth:

This salvation was purposed by God the Father from all eternity when He chose a people in Christ whom He would redeem, called the "election of grace"; this salvation was effected by God the Son who, "made himself of no reputation…and being found in fashion as a man he, humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross" (Philippians 2:7,8), when He laid down His life in the place of His people, bearing their sins in His own body on the tree, suffering the wrath of God against sin, that He might deliver them from sin and condemnation and grant them eternal life in Him; and this salvation wrought by the Son is applied by the Holy Spirit to these people when He quickens them from death to life and grants them faith to look to the Saviour who suffered and bled in their stead, to rest in Him and the righteousness of God in Him which is put to their account. This threefold work of Father, Son and Holy Ghost sets forth the glorious truth that ‘God Saves’, by grace alone, and it is this truth to which God’s people will be brought, by the Spirit file:///C:/Users/belov/Downloads/IP_Romans-The%20Gospel%20of%20God%20potts.pdf 51

Yes. God is respecting their choices. Unbelievers would be more tormented in heaven than in hell. God takes no delight in the death of the wicked (Ezekiel 33:11).

I'm neither Calvinist not Arminian. God is sovereign and man is responsible. God cannot stop loving because it is His nature. For sure God hates the evil of men. But He also sent Jesus to die for us while we were sinners.

God is love, but He is also to be respected with reverential fear.

God is not exercising love towards an individual when casting them into hell. Neither would an individual be tormented in heaven regardless of their salvific status.

The reason I asked the question is because while God is love, the Bible never says God is loving in all His ways. It does, however, teach that He is righteous in all His ways. God is not required to exercise love at all times.

Don't know why so many people can't answer a question without mentioning Calvinism or Arminianism.
