Question: Do you believe in replacement theology?
I ask, on another point of some interpreting Hebrews 8:13 to mean the Law is abolished.
No, I do not believe in replacement theology. Replacement Theology does not allow the Jewish people any part in God's redemptive plan. The Jewish people retain not only have the original promises given to them through Abraham, they also have an essential part to play in God's plan for the Last Times. We can see this in Revelation 7:5-8 where the text names the twelve tribes and assigns 12,000 sealed servants to each one. The most straightforward reading of this chapter recognizes these people as literal, ethnic Israelites whom God will use during the “great tribulation” (Revelation 7:14).

Scripture repeatedly gives promises that a believing Jewish remnant will be preserved (Isaiah 10:20-22; Romans 11:25-29) The sealing of the 144,000 fulfills those promises. Replacement theology, on the other hand, gives no special role to Jewish believers. However, the only way they will find the power to accomplish God's purpose is when they believe the gospel and are united with the Gentile believers to become one Body by the blood covenant of Christ.

The covenant of Law given by Moses failed because it did not have the power to transform the inner person. The New Covenant foretold by Jeremiah and Ezekiel not only brought the forgiveness of sin, it also brought rebirth and the promise of a radical transformation in which God could write His principles on the heart.

31 Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 32 It WILL NOT BE LIKE the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt— a covenant they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. 33“But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD. I will put My law in their minds and inscribe it on their hearts.
(Jeremiah 31:31-32)

And what point was that?
In the context of this thread among the audience participating in it.
The whole thread is derailed by the opposition to Calvinism.
Sentiment and eisegesis are used like wet noodles to oppose scripture.
But somebody's feelings might get hurt if it's not said their way.
I thought you sounded familiar as a new member.

Strength in numbers doesn't work when the numbers are counted on one actual hand.

declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel
Time and time again, that was said throughout the OT. Was it pertinent to anybody individually in their days or only in national solidarity? In other words, was that repetitive declaration for them, their children, and those far off at the time it was said through the prophets?
However, the only way they will find the power to accomplish God's purpose is when they believe the gospel and are united with the Gentile believers to become one Body by the blood covenant of Christ.
Perhaps when Christ returns and fulfills those prophecies, he has not. I suppose that at that time many identifying Jews and Gentiles will believe; perhaps even a lot of identifying Christians will fall away. I consider these things a mystery, much like heaven, which isn't comprehensive like the law given at Sinai. Why is there no discussion here on the perseverance of the saints?

Thanks for the clarification, @JimiSurvivor. Meeting new people here and learning about them and what they believe.

Just would like to comment on this. Most Christians don't know that, for example, there are over a hundred thousand Levites alive today that trace their genealogy back for evidence; think Ezra and Nehemia. Many will scowl and mock that the Jews don't even have a temple. Yes, Israel didn't exist for over 2500 years and the 2nd temple for over 1900 years. The modern Jewish state of Israel has existed for less than 100 years, and already activists there are encouraging a 3rd temple. The Jews were scattered around the globe and their tongue became a dead language. Yet G-d has resurrected not only the nation of Israel but also the Hebrew tongue.

Though I try to avoid talking about these things because of opening the door for end-timers.
God's purpose is when they believe the gospel and are united with the Gentile believers to become one Body by the blood covenant of Christ.
Was considering this more and found it rather interesting that all the books in the old and new testaments but one were written by Jews. And that one was the cutoff, not directly taught by Jesus, but directly by the Apostles. That formulation was also used to consider which books belonged in the NT canon.

I don't really know what Gentiles have to do w/ anything. Whether Jew or Gentile in Christ, Paul said nothing new, and what others here are pointing at and failed to express—the ordo salutis—has always been the same from cover to cover. Sure, some have a false security in blood genealogy, like some in identity.

I have expressed here when asked if I am a Christian, "whatever that means." Identity dysfunction nowadays extends into the church. For the love of Pete, Christian isn't even defined by learning both canons anymore. The book has been replaced by the Book of Mormon or by followers of Joseph Smith.

Difficult today to believe that Christianity was once a sect of Judaism.

Yes, and to help familiarize more, I included in my sig: "I am Reformed, Protestant, Systematic, Evangelical, 5-Solas, Calvinist, Covenantal, Cessationist, and Amillennial."

Understanding the theological terms if consistent is quicker than expecting somebody to write out and explain each of those terms and associated doctrines in apostolic fashion. Calvinism, the topic and subject of this page, for example, is exceeding 260+ pages!

Was a member of the OPC until a move to another place where no OPC is present. Now a member of a Lutheran synod. The transition was easy because Lutherans are strongly rooted in monergism (like Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, etc.). I don't mention I am Calvinist; rather, I exegete or use Lutheran theology in Bible studies, etc.

@Bible_Locket And to add, a church can be Presbyterian but not Reformed in theology. Presbyterian is an ecclesiastical form of church government. The primary systems of ecclesiastical polity are Episcopal (hierarchical and top-down), Presbyterian (ruled by a council of elders), and Congregational (autonomous and member-run). Lutherans are episcopal (bishop-led), congregational (local member-led), and synodical models depending on the specific body and region.

Take, for example, the PCUSA, known for hosting women pastors and atheist pastors, as well as promoting planned parenthood. They identify as Presbyterian. James Talarico, who has been in the news running for political office in Texas, is PCUSA. He claims G-d is binary etc., etc., etc. Likewise, some identifying Lutheran churches are not Reformed, let alone Protestant; theology is alien to them (ELCA), and they too are known for women pastors, rainbow flags, etc., etc.

I explained how everyone is without excuse, because God's requirement for salvation is indicated via general revelation per Rom. 1:20.

You failed to explain how did those who lived B.C. heard of the name Jesus Christ?
Ditto regarding those who lived A.D. without the Gospel.
Merely saying "supernaturally" explains nothing.
Burning bushes. Red sea parting. Pillars of cloud. The scape goat. Talking donkeys. PHYSICAL appearances.

Do you think God,who IS Jesus Christ made sure they never heard of Him?

I don't think so. You have the privilege and opportunity to spread His Name. He WILL, if you don't.

Does God Love them in hell suffering for their sins ?
The Lord Jesus Christ suffered for sin, ALL sin.

Why was hell/Lake of Fire created?.........Not for sin. But for EVIL. I will, I will, I will, I will and I will......Be like you.

And we see it in the end judgement...

Matt 7
21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you;

rev 20:12

And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.

Exactly, it isn't abstract evil or sin in hell; hell is for sinners and evil-doers.
The reprobate that are passed over while alive will get exactly what they want.
They want a life w/out Jesus Christ. They'll stand before G-d w/out Him.
While the Elect were saved from G-d by G-d for G-d.

Ever convey what it might be like in heaven? I was asked once, and I answered, "Theocentric, to glorify and enjoy G-d, like now and forever."
The person said, "That doesn't appeal to me."
And off we went in two different directions.

I've learned it is wise not to state you are Calvinist here. You will paint a target on yourself and immediately be attacked.
I'm not Calvinist and I was accused of being one.
As if someone would lie.

I understand, like, both Luther and Calvin were early reformers and faced physical death for challenging the RCC. Reading from those men, I quickly learned that 16th-century language was very harsh in contrast to our culture today. Strict anti-heresy laws were enforced by municipal courts and carried out capital punishment. If somebody had something to say challenging authority, papists, etc., they better have enough conviction to die for it.

Don't get me wrong, lots of people are attacked for bad doctrine and bring it on themselves. Just because a person is attacked isn't a litmus test of orthodoxy.

If I may ask, what church do you attend, or are you a member of? Not location but denomination, etc., that is, if you want to answer (female).

G-d bless; I'm off for the night.

But,nothing God said in his word tells readers those in Hell, when they're not there yet, actually chose Hell.

How so? When,in Heaven they realized they had been wrong.

And yet,he killed so many of them.
And in the New Testament we learn, they died as the wicked because they were not chosen to by God to be on his grace.

Sovereignty overrules human will.

For the sake of truth as Scripture tells it,we should stop with the falsehood that insists God is love.
As if that is his sole identity.

God also hates. One of many examples. Proverbs 6.

Thinking God lives to send people to Hell because it was their choice to go there, is not only in biblical. It is Satanic.

We are Sinners by God's will.

It is error to insist the passage refers to being the same as afraid.
Fear actually means in proper understanding, respect God. Not be afraid of him.
"Sinners by God's will". What a twisted concept of God you have. You really believe that God would create beings in His own image for the sole purpose of sending them to hell? What are you, a Gnostic?

So answer the question, does God love them in hell ? Yes or No Isnt God still love when He puts them in Hell ? Or does He quit loving them ? How about the devil and his angels He prepared the Lake of fire for Matt 25:41 since God is Love, does He love them ?
God is still love no matter what. Greek, as you no doubt know, has three words for love. That makes it more difficult for English speakers. God's love, again as you probably know, is unconditional, "agape" love.

God has to deal with all kinds of evil. We are hardly aware of the spiritual warfare that rages in the spiritual realm. In order to protect some, God makes an example of the proud and rebellious. Satan has remarkable powers of persuasion and deception. He incited one third of angels to join him in rebellion. God will ensure that Satan is dealt with and never has the opportunity to deceive again.

If you think I'm exaggerating, consider this. Satan will be bound for 1,000 years. The people of the world will experience the greatest environment, the best of health and a very long life span. Yet when Satan is released, he will draw vast numbers to make war against God once more. That will be it for Satan and all evildoers. Never again will he be able to deceive. All evil will be consigned to the lake of fire. Never again will there be rebellion against God.

There's a difference between predestination and foreordination. This is a childish argument that blames G-d for the sin of Adam. And why does Adam often receive the blame and not Eve or the serpent?

Right. Your own verse makes my point. Hell is so terrible, nothing is worse.

And even if God loving the cosmos means every single person throughout history, it doesn't negate that God is not compelled to act in love towards all at all times. God is righteous in all His ways. The Bible does not say He is loving in all His ways.
You understand neither the magnificence of heaven or the devastation of hell if you believe this.

When what we believe butts up against what is true, the outcome should be the adjustment of our beliefs and not the adjustment of truth. If heaven were worse to the heathen than hell, why not make a place like heaven for them to suffer in?
Hell is a reflection of God's mercy. The other side of the coin is that all unbelievers are dead in trespass and sin. Would you have a dead body in your home? Weekend at Bernies was funny, but that's all. God will not have the dead in His home either. .

Adam knew what he was doing. He deliberately and willfully disobeyed God. Satan did get the blame too. There is no salvation plan for Satan.

Eve was deceived. She is less culpable, but she still paid a price for her disobedience.

"The devil made me do it" was a line made popular by Flip Wilson, a comedian. That excuse does not wash with God. We are all entirely responsible for our own choices.

And what was the Hebrew word (Deuteronomy 6:5) and definition before the Septuagint?

Sounds like the repetitive pattern of behavior of Israel throughout the OT. For a time, Israel sins; G-d calls them to repentance, a time of abundance, only to repeat the same pattern again and again. Personally, I believe that pattern, however exaggerated, will repeat until a final theatrical climax and epicenter. I could be a stickler for words and say there will be no people of the "world." That is, if defined as ideological opposition against G-d. Perhaps that's why you used the word "world" in the context of war against G-d?

Why then is it said, "born in Adam"?
And I can see the humor in that. Adam was upright but not righteous. The story would have been different if the first Adam had right then and there crushed the head of the serpent.

And I agree with you again, in that we are responsible. To me it is easier to use military metaphors. For example as an XO I am accountable for every troop under my command. Yet each is responsible.
The Last Adam, the covenant head, and let me convey this loosely and freely, is accountable for His covenant people. However, it isn't like saying that's it. Imagine the commander saying, after being ripped to shreds for another soldier's dereliction of duty, "I'm not done with you yet." And that's His responsibility too; sanctification is a lifelong process, and this would be a good place to introduce the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. Often we don't hear much about that doctrine.

1000, a symbolic number for?
