If the Hello Kitty Cafe is traditional, we would all be on our knees sitting on the floor cushions sipping green tea.

No coffee. It would probably be called the Hello Kitty Teahouse, with a kitty litter zen garden, and miniature cat bonsais.

The only reason there would be a Hello Kitty Cafe serving coffee would be to compete with the Starbucks across the road. Which will not have any kitties, but possibly dogs on a leash.

If you are going to a tradtional Chinese banquet, you will be eating off REAL China bowls

These are the authentic ones. You can have soup or rice in them.

Note the rice pattern, and the dragon inside at the bottom.

These are bone china rice bowls, a bit more fancy. Some have gold rims.

I quite like the pale jade green chysanthemum one, but the chicken with chicks is pretty nice.

1. What kind of meal will we be gathering for?

Choice of burgers and fries and/or smoked BBQ (brisket, ribs, pulled pork, etc.)

2. What kind of restaurant will we be going to?
My backyard

3. Speaking of attire, what kind of outfit will you be wearing?

Everyone's own choice of clothing. If you want to wear a tux or formal dress to a backyard BBQ, that's your privilege... though everyone will think you're nuts. Who cares what others think.

5. Bonus question -- if we went to an Asian restaurant -- would you use chopsticks?!!

Of course. Those of us who were properly raised never eat Asian food with anything but chopsticks.

My family always had that joke about me, too -- that I could be at a first-class establishment -- and still order a cheeseburger!!

I was in a fancy restaurant today. Thank God I was able to order a cheeseburger and fries. They actually served up a pretty good burger, too!

I am, unfortunately, differently-abled when it comes to chopsticks.

As in, I seem to be completely un-able to use them!

I guess I wasn't raised properly... 😭🤣

But in my defense, y'all have seen my antics here over the years...

I think everyone would agree, my parents tried their very best with what they had to work with! 😂

(And yes, it's ok to feel sorry for them.)

At a Mongolian BBQ the proprietor(s) would fix up a set of chopsticks with rubber bands so that our infant daughter could use them. I'm sure we could do that for you so you don't starve, or we could just go with my BBQ idea. No utensils needed, just our hands and a hearty appetite, and some high quality napkins unless we just want to hose off afterwards.

In the Boston area I recently went to a Vietnamese/Thai restaurant and a Japanese restaurant (not on the same day). Neither had silverware to offer. It was chopsticks all the way.

I'm definitely going to have to go with the hose-down method of eating. 😂

If faced with a Western silverware apocalypse, I'm sure I could find a way to somehow maneuver chopsticks, but I hope no one would be in a hurry because it would take me a while to finish anything (and for applicable entrees, I'd likely just use the stab'n'shish kabob method.)

I've always said that for me, chopsticks would probably be a very effective diet plan, as I'd probably only be able to eat 1/3 the amount in twice the time.

Maybe I should borrow a pair from my sister-in-law! 😂

At lunch time in Japan I frequently saw businessmen holding the bowl up to their mouth and using the chopsticks to shove/push the food into their mouth. I figured they were in a hurry to get back to work. You could use that method. Their method seemed to be continuous shoving. I'm not sure if they took the time to chew or if they just let their stomachs worry about the chore of breaking the food down.

Apparently, I do not know how to twirl spaghetti on my fork without it going everywhere.

So please don't invite me to an Italian Restaurant.

I also don't do very well with knives, or silver spoons.

So don't worry Seoul, I am more differently abled than you.

CarriePie.

Are you sure those meringue pies are not....Pavlovas?

I am seriously wondering with all your talk of Vegemite and 'Meringue Pies' whether you are not from the Osage County as I once thought but are from New South Wales in Australia.
