Aside from Charles Dickens, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory..and all the other Charles in the world that I know of, I would pay $20 to buy many Peanuts.
And these books (or at least borrow from the library) . Peanuts was the ultimate pulp fiction, when it was printed in the newspaper everyday.
People go all out for the author of Narnia, CS Lewis. Claiming he's the greatest Christian writer and all. But my vote goes to Charles M Schulz.

Well I am halfway through reading the People's Princess
so Princess Charlotte has to marry the not-very-attractive Prince Willem of Orange from the Netherlands, but she meets dashing squire Frederick, and has even had a love affair with another courtier named Captain Charles Hesse, so breaks off the engagement.
All the while she is doing this, Princess Diana is locked in Buckingham Palace reading Princess Charlotte's diary and not allowed to leave or set foot outside before the wedding of the century, otherwise she'll be hounded by the press again. Except for one royal engagement - where she is photographed wearing a strapless, black dress, meets american Princess Grace, who tells her, 'Don't worry, it will get worse'
She gets told off by the Queen's mother for wearing that dress, which is black and she's not in mourning and too low cut. Diana she's her pictures in the paper and thinks it makes her look fat, she she goes on a vomiting diet to get thin so she can fit into her huge puffy. wedding dress with a 20 foot train. Yea I don't get it either. But she was only 19 -- a teenager! How was she supposed to know???
