The modern false convert feels they are being humble by calling themselves the "chief of sinners" or bragging about their sinfulness against Christ. The reality is that this false humility is actually telling of how prideful and hateful toward God they are. Continuing on in sin every day is a sign of your stubborn rebellion against Christ and unyielding resistance against the Spirit of God. True humility is repenting of your sins, turning to the Lord Jesus Christ, and walking in loving obedience to Him. As long as you are the "chief of sinners" you are merely a prideful, arrogant, and boastful sinner. You pridefully exalt yourself in your heart above God each day in thought, word, and deed. Humble yourself before Him and sin not! Submit yourself to Him and allow the blood of His Son to cleanse you from all sin (1 John 1:9), thus making you a new creature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)!
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him
Hi NotIbutChrist,
We may not agree on many things, but I do agree with you here.
I would much rather believe what God says about me than man.
Two natures, not hardly, your right what does that say about the
sacrifice of Christ, this is what being born again is all about.
I mean, Are we sinners, or Saints? Right?
I've heard this all my life,....Were just sinners saved by Grace,
That statement is Ridiculous.
We were in sin, but now we are not.
I believe what Paul was trying to convey, is that sin may abide in my
members, But he, or us do not abide in sin.
The flesh is corrupt, we must put on incorruption, but my new man, nature
does not sin, for His Seed remains in me, and I (that is my new nature) cannot sin.
1Co 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
Somewhere in scripture it says, something like... as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.
And in the Gospels it tells us that if our eye is single, then our whole body will be
full of Light.
If I keep in my heart what Christ has done for me, I follow Him out of Love, more
and more. Sin shall not have dominion over me.
Wasn't it Paul who said ... All things are lawful for him, but he would not be
brought under the power of any.
If you see me in the flesh, That is not who I am in Christ.
All Praise to Him, if I get sick, that is not who I am in Him, In Him I am Healed
And made perferctly whole.
If I lose my temper and get angry, that is not who I am in HIM.
Do I Press on to put away Anger? Yes, always, but this is the flesh, again
not who I am in HIM.
I focus on The Spirit that I am connected to,
Not on my flesh, it will return to the dust.
Blessings
