I have just decided to post in any thread that takes my fancy. I mean there are no rules to say I can't.
I'm also allowed to post in the ladies forum, cos, well, I AM a lady.
 
I also like to discuss the Bible.

I love the Bible. I think everyone ought to read it to become wise. BC they had the Bible but it was only in Hebrew and only the Hebrews were priveliged to read scripture. They had high literacy rates and even today most everyone can read Hebrew and speak it in Israel who is Jewish.
They also can speak English and all the other languages they learned while in exile from their homeland or the Promised Land as they called it.

But elephants are now free in zoos, they just have bigger enclosures. Have you ever been to India? Seen an elephant or ridden one?
There are two types of elephants, Asian and African.

Not many people regard the Asian ones, except those living in Asia. But they really are beasts of burden, and people used to ride them, some still do.
 
In the Bible, the wise men would have ridden camels in the desert/middle east and all along the Silk Road. But they could have also ridden elephants. Were you there at the time?
 
Do you think all the camels came from Asia? No they didn't have camels, they had elephants.
Camels are mostly ridden in egypt

Also, Jesus famously spoke about camels. They couldn't fit through the eye of a needle.
 
Ivory was traded though. It's mentioned in Kings

1 Kings 10:18 and 1 Kings 22:39

Also Amos 6:4
and Ezekiel 27:15
 
It is now illegal to trade ivory. Only very wealthy people had ivory. Ivory was used to make utensils and piano keyboards among other things. Now we have plastic.

They are very angry their horns have been misused, like the rhinos.

Only deer and maybe goats or rams will lend their horns to humans, because it won't hurt them to be cut off.

Its not funny

Ivory poaching has damaged countries and elephants. Thanks to greedy people. Sinful greedy people.
 
If God saw fit for Noah to save the elephants on the Ark, then it shows God loves his creatures and that includes the giant elephants.
 
Even the sparrows, God sees them and keeps His eyes on them.

Not joking about that either.
