You need to focus on what God whats you to do, not everything going on in the entire world needs to have your attention.
Otherwise what good is that to you? Doom-scrolling of things you can't do anything about? How many thousands of people have died today? How many babies are born? How many are suffering and in agony? How many are going hungry? How many orphans and widows? The tragedies of everyday life are endless around the world. There is always some war, natural disaster, car crash, and political coup. I wasn't born yesterday.
Trust what God has planned for your eternity and do your best to walk humbly and do justice I think it was set out in Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
(New International Version)
Anyway.
Elephants do not have their head in the sand. They have long memories. We could actually learn something from them. We are not blind to the Elephants or ignoring them. Elephants are Gods creatures too, and need our love and care just the same as all the other living beings God has created, and they have a purpose.
If you are to be a light, don't place it under a bushel. The elephant, in all its mass, girth and glory, has a marvellous trunk that no other animal has. They can paint, they appreciate music, actually they are very artistic, and they all have different personalities, if you ever spend any time with them. They do walk humbly and do not just go randomly wild for no reason.
I don't mind that people misuse the elephants idiom to complain about stuff that is not really their concern and that they can't do anything about. Its ok you're forgiven, don't pack a sad.
I'm just glad that the elephants in this thread are no longer being ignored - now..how bet them giraffes?
