I was only bothered at your aggression, I never meant to go after your old post, you asked for it, so yes, don't throw that at me.

I'm not sure why you interpreted a differing viewpoint as aggression, but ok... that is typical of people with your disorder. If I was not sensitive enough to your fragile emotional state then I apologize for that.

But next time be upfront about what is actually bothering you, ok?

I'm not sure what I'm going to do if this discussion between Lovette, Snacker, and Rod (plus various other awesome supporting characters) ever ends.

It's become like a cherished sitcom (kind of like the "Friends" of CC, except maybe more like "Frenemies," lol) and I look forward to a new episode every day! 😁

For some reason, I never got into "Friends," but I sure have gotten into this everyday drama!

Er... I mean... Enlightening discussion. 😁
Oh well, until someone disclose some history, this is to be continued....

Or, just let it be a story has no ending, no beginning either.

When two people are bickering constantly, it wears you down — and as a Christian, you feel that tension even more because you’re trying to keep peace without becoming part of the conflict. The best thing you can do is step back, stay calm, and respond with the kind of steady, gentle presence Scripture talks about. You don’t have to fix their arguments, but you can set the tone. Speak softly, don’t take sides, and remind them — kindly — that constant arguing doesn’t help anyone. Sometimes the most Christlike thing you can do is be the quiet, steady voice that says, “Let’s slow down,” or “Let’s talk one at a time.” You’re not responsible for their behavior, but you are responsible for keeping your own heart anchored in patience, humility, and peace.

Lol.

I've been on this forum for 17 years...

I've seen plenty of discussions go 'round and 'round over the years.

Sometimes I'll hop on the merry-go-round if I think I have anything useful to say, but usually not.

However, sometimes, if the discussion is especially good, I can't help but jump in and make a few humorous observations now and then.

No disrespect to the players in this conversation at all -- as I said, catching up on it has actually become a pleasantly anticipated part of my daily routine. 🙃

Think its my 3rd day and have already had some sporty conversations myself. I stay calm as we should but with much agony do we enter lol

They were not "thousands," haha.

A dating app is just a tool to meet someone so you can potentially start a conversation, then potentially go on a first date, and then potentially go on more dates if you find each other interesting enough. It's not that complicated. A first date is not that big a deal.

What if a date is "arranged" by others, and the date doesn't go well? In the method that you, apparently, prefer? Is it still all a waste of time, in your view?
Yes, all a waste of time, especially spare time.

Why do you think that is not understandable to me? We are all well aware of your singleness and nobody is asking you to change it or telling you to go to bars 🙄. Why would you even consider that? 🤔
Then what's your point? What's understandable to me is how you guys as supposedly born again Christians are so hyped at dating, perhaps THE most secular and carnal activity, rather than edifying one another to defy the "preparing stage for marriage" narrative and finding contentment in singleness.

Then you should check your own previous posts. I was simply pointing out your discontentment with singleness based on your own confession of your dating history, you falsely accused me, that was aggression. I assure you I have no disorder, neither do I have a fragile emotional state, maybe it's you who're projecting your own feelings.

In case you're still not "sure", just tell me this - are you for or against dating? If you're against, then we're on the same side, it's just a misunderstanding; if you're for, then you're not content with singleness, you're being disingenuous.

don;t you have anything better to do?

I write a lot of threads on this forum.

In order to do that, I also check up on other threads that are active so I have an idea of what people are currently talking about.

I come here because I see it as a hobby in my free time. One of my biggest hobbies has always been reading and writing letters, so to me, this forum is just an extension of that.

I've also made several friends here, some of which I've known for well over a decade, and many of whom I fly to see in person every few years.

For me, CC isn't just a bunch of words shouted into the void.

It's the real life testimonies from real live people, and I'm here to make real friends.

Every now and then, God opens a door for me to be able to meet those I've connected with in real life face to face.

How about you?

What's your mission statement for being here on CC?

Just to chat, and to investigate why Christians of all people are so concened about dating, romance, marraige, even sexuality. In my understanding, Christianity is a sanctuary from all these worldly messes, troubles, and temptations, not a gateway to more of them. You sign up and get baptized for a relationship with the Lord, for the salvation of your soul, for a peaceful state of mind. Put it in another way: you go to God for healing from broken relationships, bad relationships or no relationship at all. So far what I've seen is using the Lord's name in vain for carnal desires, and specifically, marriage is idolized, singleness is marginalized, even discriminated, to which I'm very disappointed.

If I have a mission statement, then it would be - "is Jesus your one and only or one of many?" The token of your faith is forsaking all worldly romance and marriage prospect to love him exclusively.

You can use this one, He won't mind, 😁
Our purpose is to glorify God by faithfully obeying His Word, proclaiming the gospel of Christ, and walking in love, holiness, and truth. It commits us to making disciples of all nations, serving others with humility, and living as a people transformed by the Spirit—“that in all things He might have the preeminence.” This mission is carried out with steadfast devotion, confident hope, and unwavering trust in the Lord who calls, equips, and sustains His people for every good work.
