There's been so much hubbub over @CarriePie's banana pudding, I think we're all pretty much planning on just showing up at her house!
(All in a totally non-threatening, not at all like a small, demanding mob kind of way.)

I've probably been to more potlucks than anyone here because of my traveling in ministry. So I've eaten more than I've ever brought to a potluck. Now a potluck up North is not the same as in the South. When I came south and they had fried chicken at a potluck I was stunned. I had grown up on finger sandwiches, crackers and cheese and cookies from the local grocery. I believe potluck in the South is a ministry all of its own.
We were asked to do a concert ,of all places, at the military base in Fort Knox, Kentucky. So in we go and do the concert and the food after... well I dang near joined the military then and there!! My cousin from Canada was there and she's normally a picky eater. She had two plates and was going back for more. She said "Oh I'd be so fat if I lived down here!" lol
Our little country church has some cooks for sure. Their food is amazing and when the pastor wants to cater the church just wants the women to do it. He reminds them the ladies need a break sometimes.
We had this one friend who loved doing the Jello molds. Every time she would ask us over to eat, something would be in Jello. Peas, carrots grated, I think she tossed some canned tuna in once. Ugh. We use to joke that if you eat at her house and hit the table by accident the whole thing would jiggle.
I remember in my travels we were at a lovely old saints house. She had put up a meal for us before our concert that night. Now I was skinny back then and could always use "Im on a diet" as an excuse. She had some sort of pudding so I took a little and when I swallowed I felt something like hard plastic or glass go down my throat! To this day I don't know what had dropped in there but I had a sore throat all night.
As far as what I would bring, probably pulled pork and coleslaw on buns , cause it's the South y'all. And some form of poke cake because it's hubby's favorite.
I just stopped by to say , I'm avoiding the meatloaf as far away as possible.....
Meatloaf is made with ground beef and topped with a glaze. Spam is canned meat made from pork shoulder and ham. I love them both.
When I was in Aussie had lunch at a Hong Kong style cafe and on the menu was spam and rice.
My mum used to cook spam slices with canned pineapple, and I remember it being deliciously soft and juicy as well as salty.
I have never had meatloaf though and don't think I really want to. I think beef hamburger patties or meatballs are enough for me. Or mince i.e with spaghetti or lasagne...an entire loaf of just meat I don't think I can handle.
I never see meatloaf on the menu of any restaurant I've ever been to. I do know Meatloaf is the name of a heavy metal band! Not sure why it's called Meatloaf?

I like both meatloaf and Spam. I like meatloaf more though, especially if I make it. I've had some meatloaves that I didn't care for and would have rather had Spam. It's all about who cooks the food and how they cook it.

However, I would make an exception in trying @CarriePie's meatloaf.
Even if I didn't like it, I'm sure her other food -- mainly the desserts -- would be more than enough to make any meatloaf encounters a distant memory.

I've definitely had some meatloaf that I didn't care for. Honestly, I think my meatloaf is superior tasting to my mother's and my grandmother's (and they were good cooks)! Actually, my meatloaf is the best I've eaten. That doesn't sound very humble though lol.
And, of course, my desserts are smashingness. I'll be on a mission to conquer unsmashingness one amazing dessert at a time!

Wow if ever I boasted how my cooking was BETTER than my mums or grandmas I would sure have got a tongue lashing from either of them lol
I only have my dad to taste-test my cooking atm and he will eat anything that's cooked badly lol
