In my neck of the woods, we raise rabbits and cook 'em in the cast iron skillet like fried chicken. Use the pan drippings to make gravy, serve it over mashed potatoes and with a side of veggies from the garden.
If that's not your thing, I'll have a chilled rabbit-free meringue waitin' for ya' ♥️👩‍🍳🐇

Forgive my naive little palette, but I was nearly hyperventilating at the thought of bunnies being tossed into a pan and made into fried chicken (do you use the Colonel's Secret Recipe of 11 Herbs and Spices?!) 😮😢🐰🍗

However, I understand that people have to make due of the food that God provides...

Just please pardon me if I just have a an extra large helping of bunny-less mashed potatoes -- and rabbit-free meringue! 🥔

Today I found some jalapeno cheddar pork skins at the salvage grocery. I will not partake but dad likes them.

I also found two bottles of a sweet potato habanero hot sauce. Pretty tasty on a chicken sandwich with a little mayo. Can't wait to see how it tastes in tuna.

Rabbit gumbo is awesome. It was a staple at the wild meat suppers.

Rabbit and dumplings is pretty good too.

It's okay, us fried rabbit lovers think it's larapin. All the more for us and it gives the squirrels a break lol 🐿️🤤😇

I'm glad you the officer was able willing to take a second look at the footage...

Although, why wouldn't it surprise us if Tall Timbers didn't occasionally turn into Speedy Timbers at times?

As for the wabbits... 😢

I'm wondering if @CarriePie can assist with this.

@CarriePie, do you have a go-to recipe for wabbit?! 😩 (Perhaps with a whipped potato meringue on top?)

Sorry GG!!

If I'd have known this was going to turn into a conversation about pan-frying rabbits, I would have added a disclaimer to the beginning post:

"Warning!! This Thread is Rated CWW (Caution, Wabbit Wubbers!)"

Proceed at your own risk!

(Great to see you @Godsgirl1983!) :D

@Lovette

Look!!!

We're not talking about dating, promise!!

Aren't you proud of us?! 😁

Why don't you come on over and join the conversation?

You mentioned things like wanting to talk about AI and critical thinking...

What's something interesting you've read or learned this week about some of the topics you're interested in? :)
We could talk about books. What have you been reading? Or do you read at all? I can tell you one thing, as God is my witness, I don't use tiktok, don't waste one grain of my remaining sand of time on those shorts, the direct contributors of brain rot. Over the past month I've been on Lisa Kleypas's Wallflower series, very delicate, sophisticated writing style, highly recommended. Before that I've read some classics, Jane Austen's trifecta - Emma, Pride and Predujice, Sense and Sensibility.

Ooohhh, this would be a good topic to discuss with @Lanolin.

She's also worked as a librarian.

I'm not on Facebook, Instagram, or Tiktok.

My only social media besides CC is one messenger app to keep in touch with friends, and YouTube.

I do like to read but these days it's a lot of articles rather than books. I like to gather information about a wide variety of topics but have limited time, so I find articles work best for me.

Good to see you here! 👍🏼

To be honest, I think literature is dead, Harry Potter is probably the last epic series, and now it's being trashed simply for the author's common sense. There's nothing else worth reading, it's all progressive garbage, especially since the launch of generative AI. Not only is there nothing new, but the old classics are being perverted, those tech lords are actively destroying old rare books to train their models. I'm sadded, even terrified. You know, one of the greatest tragedy is that you only realize how precious something is when it's gone, forever, and all you can do is lamenting it. And that's why I'm determined to preserve and read books, as someone who used to hate reading.

I saw Pride & Prejudice...(sort of) - at the Sydney Opera House

It was in the Drama Theatre

Yes it was DRAMATIC~! And it had dancing...and singing. And there were five actresses who played all the sisters, servants, and even the suitors.

Also...I fell asleep --well I was a bit tired, and it was the first night off the plane from a 3 hour flight. So yea. My sis had to keep nudging me. (Cannot help it and totally not the fault of any of the players)

But I am pleased to report it had a happy ending. They actually stuck quite close to the book. It was pretty hilarious.

I'm not a fan of miscommunication/misunderstanding trope, and I can't figure out what's the attraction of Mr. Darcy, how on earth do a letter and a tour to his estate magically changed Elizabeth's impression in 180.

er..if you read the book, that was not the only reason Lizzie changed her mind about him.

Mr Darcy did other things behind the scenes for Lizzie like being kind to her family that she wasn't aware of at the time. How about saving sister Lydia's reputation from near ruin?

I've never watched a Korean drama, but, can I ask, why is it that they've gotten to be so popular?

Do they just have better plots and characters than other kinds of dramas?

I love K-drama. They are so good and often very original.

I have many favorites but here are two of my favorite series:

iPrDdmnMJmcAOBpyN4t2CKypbVV.jpg

It's about an heir apparent prince in the Joseon era whose wife got killed. He tries to investigate with three of his closest friend in court but somehow inadvertently all gets thrown into our modern times. He sees his wife reincarnated as someone else but she doesn't recognize him.

The whole story flashes back and forth from the Joseon period to the modern times. I love it because you get to see their beautiful hanboks (the period dress). It is also about an unrequited love and selfless sacrifice. Also about royal intrigue in the Joseon era, but also in the now.

It also breaks the fourth wall because when his three friends enter a corporate building for something, the producers of the show have a cameo appearance and the three friends actual bow down to them!

There is so much to it that it would take a long time to tell. You really should see it, it is SUCH A GOOD STORY!

It's on Netflix, but you can also see it on Kocowa on Amazon or Viki (which are Asian-specific streaming services) subscriptions.

Arang and the Magistrate (Tale of Arang)

713ZbyTjJsL._AC_AIweblab1378949,T2_FMavif_SF516.0,327.0_PQ65_.jpg

Is about a ghost who doesn't know who she is, how she died, and why, and a magistrate (kind of like a police officer) who has the ability to see ghosts. When she realizes that he can see her, she asks him to find out all the answers to her questions.

I love this story too. It's not scary like ghosts are in the West often are and it's also funny.

You can also see this in the three streaming services above.

The unexpected proposal and subsequent letter reveal to elizabeth that she's trusted what is perhaps an untrustworthy source for most of her information about Darcy. Then when she goes to tour pemberly, she expects him not to be there, but sees that all his servants have nothing but good things to say about him. Then Darcy shows up and is gracious and welcoming to her despite the fact that their last interaction was her telling him she hates his guts. Darcy is also kind and welcoming to the aunt and uncle who are so far socially beneath him that the bingley sisters laughed at the idea of visiting them in london. Darcy treats them like honored guests. Then the news about Lydia comes and Elizabeth tells Darcy and he runs off not as she supposes because he wants to distance himself from the scandal her family will surely endure but because her words about how she could have prevented it by exposing wickham strike his conscience and make him feel responsible. And he saves her reputation in secret (he never intended her to find out) without any expectation that he will ever win her heart.

So yeah there was plenty there to prompt a reevaluation of her opinion of him.

Yeah, I understand the aspect of these positive testimonies, I just don't like the enemy to lovers trope. The only convincing bit I like about Elizabeth is her final confrontation with Lady Catherine, that shows a spirit of defiance. There's not much chemistry or common interest between them.

In my ideal romance, the couple is bound together by their common passion for something, could be ideology, art, food, travel, movies, sports, faith, anything that they both enjoy doing.

Outside of our Lord s protection, there are a lot of dramas.

A tennis couple was a good match. They met at playing tennis. After married, they continue playing.

But the guy had affairs, there ends the perfect match.

A match based on earthly interests does not last too long.
