When I was in Aussie had lunch at a Hong Kong style cafe and on the menu was spam and rice.
My mum used to cook spam slices with canned pineapple, and I remember it being deliciously soft and juicy as well as salty.

I have never had meatloaf though and don't think I really want to. I think beef hamburger patties or meatballs are enough for me. Or mince i.e with spaghetti or lasagne...an entire loaf of just meat I don't think I can handle.

I never see meatloaf on the menu of any restaurant I've ever been to. I do know Meatloaf is the name of a heavy metal band! Not sure why it's called Meatloaf?
Meatloaf tastes different from hamburger or meatballs. It's cooked in the oven and it comes out very tender and flavorful.

Meatloaf is traditionally beef, but you can make it with any ground meat. it's basically a baked loaf of ground beef. Same pan used for bread.
How does the inside get cooked throughly

Huh looked it up in my Edmond's Cookbook and says 500g lean beef mince and 500 g sausagemeat

Sausagemeat? Does that mean chopped up sausages?

It's baked for about an hour at 350 degrees (176 C). Sausage would be pork. I never heard of adding sausage to meatloaf but yea either sliced or chopped up I would think.

huh
Well I never buy sausagemeat I only rarely buy sausages. I think dad would prefer the sausages be cooked as sausages not cut up and put inside a loaf...?!

That's a lot of meat for one dish...1 kg? But it says it does feed 8-10 people.

I've definitely had some meatloaf that I didn't care for. Honestly, I think my meatloaf is superior tasting to my mother's and my grandmother's (and they were good cooks)! Actually, my meatloaf is the best I've eaten. That doesn't sound very humble though lol.

I never like my mom's meatloaf but I really life my mother-in-law's meatloaf recipe. Now that the kids are grown up and gone, I haven't made it since there's just the two of us.

You can purchase ground sausage in grocery stores, at least in the USA, and you can even by a 50/50 mixture of ground pork and beef.
But if the recipe already has 500g of lean beef mince why would you need 500g of sausagemeat as well? Is it to hold it all together?

Yes I've seen those pork/beef minces we have them here too but never tried them.

I don't speak in grams but for my meatloaf if I wanted to add some sausage it would be half a pound of ground beef and half a pound of ground pork. I guess if I wanted more meatloaf I could double that and have a pound of each and cook the meatloaf in two separate pans.

What meat is in the meatloaf? chicken? beef? pork? turkey? rabbit? goat? lamb? or a combination of all seven?

Meatloaf can be made out of just about anything really. I like to keep recipes versatile because sometimes some things aren't available and sometimes not affordable at any one given time or another for one reason or another (depending on the circumstances). I use a lot of ground turkey in recipes. In times of plenty, I've made bison meatloaf. Very tasty! But, there's times I've made meatless black bean meatloaf. With veggies on the side, it's a filling, tasty, and healthy meal.

I like fish. I don't know what a fishball is.
Its fish ground up and made into balls just like meatballs. But fish

Can eat them with veges or in soups and noodles.

My mum used to make them a lot they were delish. Plus she would mix the fish up in the Kenwood and it must be the noisiest kitchen appliance known to (wo)mankind. Sounds sort of like chainsaws.

I made Kentucky (baked) Chicken wings last night. My first attempt, nice but they kinda stuck to the baking/roasting pan. Luckily I did line it with paper first but they stuck to the paper. I had to peel them off.

You can bring nothing but your mouth.
I can bring nothing but my mouth.
Yours stuck too?
Potsticker Dumplings?
Just bring the whole pot and let the potluckers unstick the dumplings themselves. That's why it's called a potluck Everyone tries their luck with different pots. Everyone helps themselves.
