My new play is going to be called

Wild geese and rabbits. A video game.

So in this story there are these wild geese you have to chase and catch as well as rabbits. When you catch a goose you get a pillow, and when you catch a rabbit, you get a carrot. When you have enough carrots, you can make a carrot cake.
When you have enough pillows, you go to a special level where you can have a pillow fight, as this is a multi-player game where you can invite your friends and share carrot cake.

It is a choose your own adventure play. The choice is between wild geese or rabbits.

Well seoulsearch ya got yer dadgum drama now. Scooter talkin bout Dolly burning in hell and Lanolin totally misreading what I said and calling me a Pharisee.

Happy now? :p

It wouldn't be CC If there weren't people jumping in, assuming we're all a bunch of heathans who need preaching to without taking the time to get to know any of us, and trying to peg who is a bigger Pharisee than whom. 😇

But we all know the wheels on the bus go round and round -- and yet us regulars keep coming here! 🚌

What does that say about the rest of us?! 🤪😆🤣

Now I'm actually thinking about this, and I have to give credit to the people who keep coming back year after year, always knowing that all the same old things are going to play out again and again, just with new players.

I know two people who have been coming to this site since the '90s, when it was apparently born?

Well...

The Bible does say that perseverance is a good trait to have. 😎😂😬

And we all know that the type of drama unfolding right here is what Christian communities unfortunately seem to serve up best.

It ain't a real Christian site unless someone says someone else is going to burn in hell.

I didn't mean you.

Yea I don't understand the hatred for Dolly. When she sang about love, she actually meant it.

Probably only a death metaller who listens to 'Christian' metal would say that about Dolly.
Ah... I thought you were talking to me. Apologies.

Scooter talkin bout Dolly burning in hell

She never repented of her supporting sexual perversion.

Do you believe Christians can support the devil and be in agreement with him and still be saved?

It's quit public knowledge that Dolly was a long time advocate of all forms of sexual perversion.

She used her station in life as well as her money to support what God says is abomination unto Him so she couldn't have possibly had the true Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. If she had the Spirit would have shown her the error of her ways and she would have repented. No record of her ever ceasing to support sexual perversion.

Any reason why this topic should not be discussed as to warn those who are still living to not go the way Dolly went?

No, there's no particular reason why it shouldn't be discussed. You'll find tons of analyses of who and who isn't a Christian, and who is and isn't enough of a Christian in plenty of places all over the forum (BDF, Conspiracies, News, Miscellaneous, etc.)

But here in Singles, there is a group of regulars that talk more about their own every day lives as Christians rather than dissecting the lives of famous people.

Many of the regulars in Singles have been posting in this forum for anywhere from say 2 to 20 years, so many of us know each other quite well. Some of us also travel to hang out in person, even though we live thousands of miles away from each other.

In general, we don't preach at each other about these kinds of topics -- the ones who do come in and preach are usually new, and we try to direct them to the other places of the forum where this style of discussion is more popular.

I always say that the BDF and other places in the forum is the sermon; Singles and Family is like the Coffee and Donut Fellowship Hour afterwards. People can still try to turn it into a platform of sorts -- it just usually isn't given much attention here.

A lot of us have also been through life experiences and ministries that cause us to take pause at judging others. We know about knowing someone by their fruit, but in the end, only God truly knows.

And this is just me, but I don't worry too much about what other people do or believe unless it directly affects me or those I love.

I used to be part of a prison ministry and sat in a prison visiting room across a guy who was only 33 but had a history of committing murders.

Something I learned during that time is that there is always a story behind the story that everyone hears. This guy had been through one of the worst cases of childhood abuse I had ever heard of, and the case he caught that gave him LWOP (life without parole) was for killing one (of his many) abusers.

He had another attempted murder in prison (cut the guy's throat so severely with a homemade shank that he had to be airlifted out) -- of another guy who also attempted to abuse him.

Are these excuses for certain lifestyle choices and crimes? Absolutely not.

But no one knows how they will react in most situations unless they've been there -- and even if they have, the way they handle it might be very different from the way someone else does -- at least, this is what I've personally concluded for myself, so I won't know who makes it to heaven until I get there.

The guy I am talking about claimed to be a born-again Christian.

Is he? And will he go to heaven when his death one day comes?

I don't know. It's not for me to judge.

And that's how I feel about most everyone else as well.

Yes, there are things I might observe about them that I don't follow in any way.

But as far as judging their eternal destination -- that's for God to know -- and not me.

@ScooterJackson -- you're welcome to keep discussing these things as you feel the need to.

It's just that if it's in the Singles or Family sections of the forum, you might not get the type of reception over it that you seem to be expecting.

Wow this is heavy.

Is that a reason my weekend thread disappeared? But the weekend thread is casual though.

I don't know. It's not for me to judge.

If God says something is an abomination to Him then doing that or support that is sin.

The question becomes - can Christians live in sin or support sin and still be saved since doing so is turning their back on God and instead walking in agreement with the devil.

In today's world, most Christians actually believe they can live in sin or support sin and still be in right standing with the Lord.

Based on what the Word of the Lord teaches, they cannot.

It's the Lord's judgement not ours. He judges based on what He said in His Word.

Over the years, the Singles Forum has often gotten a bad rap.

We're often seen as worldly Christian airheads -- if we're even seen as Christians at all.

But as I said, there's always a story -- behind the story -- and that's what a lot of us here in Singles are interested in.

Most of the people I've met here in Singles and Family have deep, complex stories and heavy burdens that they carry daily, which is why we try to keep things a little more upbeat and a way to take a break from everyday stress.

People might look at us a little differently if they took the time to get to know us, but most are just so eager to preach their own agenda that they jump right in and figure we all need fixing.

Your thread hasn't disappeared, @Churchgoer -- it just hasn't been posted in for a few days so it's been pushed off the main page.

I'm going to go remedy that right now. :)

If you put in the time to get to know people here, you'll find that the majority crowd that posts in Singles and Family indeed knows this -- and they live it out.

And for anyone who doesn't, we try to encourage them along the way as they grow in their Christian journey.

OK, this probably should be talked about in the bible study section as to not get in the way of all you singles talking about whatever it is singles talk about.

I'm not single so I wouldn't know

*smile*

Yes, that's what we've been trying to tell you in these last several posts.

You're still welcome here -- we have many married friends who stop here regularly when they want to talk about regular life (their families, gardens, hobbies, church drama, etc.)

If you read some of the original posts for the threads we put up in Singles and Family, you'll get a feel for what our conversations are like.

Stop on in if any of the topics catch your attention.

Well... Yes, there are two good reasons.

One is a concept called "Time And Place." Basically it is the ability to observe that this is a fun thread, and extrapolate that dissing dead people - deserved or not - is not really fitting conversation for this thread. Kinda like a turd in a punch bowl, y'know.

Two is a concept called "Consideration." Basically you are considerate of the person who started this thread and the intent with which the person started it, so you are polite enough to respect it.

There's also the minor matter of "There's already a blue million threads lying around here where talk about how terrible Dolly Parton is and how she's going to hell will quite fit in, so we don't need to muddy the waters in just EVERY thread like this..." But the first two reasons far outweigh this little trivial thing.

Comprehend?

I like the current website layout; it's better than the the way it was when I joined back in May 2015.

I like most of the membership as well.

And even if I was not satisfied, I would not hurl F-bombs to express my displeasure. 😁 😁 😁
