The claws and fangs gave him away.

@Lynx is generally harmless as long as he gets in a good scratching post session now and then. 😆

He and I regularly banter over almost everything in the keep-in-touch chat we're part of.

For some reason, the other people there seem to suffer through it (our arguments are kind of the headliner entertainment of the chat, so we're told.) 😂

Besides...

HE'S the one that always starts it!!

Honest. 😎

hmm

I didn't know there was a 'keep-in-touch' chat. Is this a secret portal into another part of CC that us ordinary mortals are unaware of?

Nope.

Some of the people I've met in real life from CC have a small chat group that we use to keep in touch, hence, the "Keep-In-Touch-Group." :)

Without it, we'd most likely dissolve like most friend groups that lose track of each other over time.

It's also helpful for trying to keep each other in line, even though we all know there are some here who will never be tamed! 😎 😂😇

Is this on the live chat part of the forum.

I have my groups that I keep in touch with on whatsapp, like family, support groups, club committees etc. Used to have prayer group, but I don't think thats such a good thing in chat. I think prayer needs to be more of a private thing rather than online with a bunch of people, esp those that you may not know or have met before.

I've done prayer requests and things though, and sometimes post in the prayer forum, but its more general prayers than specific personal ones, Maybe you'd phone a friend for something like that if you needed someone to talk to.

Mostly my chat groups are set up to plan things like trips etc. i.e "am coming over on these dates' 'what time? ''pick me up' 'see you soon'

Prominent stories for me

Banned Game
153 fish - that was fun - just naming as many different fish as we could

I don't really choose to remember any bad things but yea the Steve threads were funny. I didn't actually participate I only found them after he had left when someone brought them up from the dead. Or as they say a zombie thread.

Otherwise the single ones esp the ones about lovelorn lonely hearts club dating ones or wannabe marrieds all tended to become the same blur after you've been here a while. But it is important to know you are not alone in your struggles and singles esp need to know this.

No, it's just like any other friendship group people set up on social media.

We originally met here in the CC forums and chats; then met in person, then set up our own group to keep in touch.

At first, we used Skype, but after that closed, we moved to a different platform (not here on CC.)

Me saying "My Keep In Touch Group" is just saying, "My friends and I" -- except that all my friends live thousands of miles away, so keeping in touch online is the only choice we have.

Does anyone remember StanTheMan (I think that was his name). He would go around judging people for this and that. He got onto me for the kind of music I listen to. That's not the first time someone has pointed out my music to me, but he seemed to be even more annoyingly judgemental. Of course, he was eventually banned. I'm not sure why, but I wasn't surprised.

The US is a vast country.
I make friends with people who are local, though I do live in a big city, even so, I'm from the west and its much easier to have friends living near and keeping in touch in person than those far away, even on the other side of town!

Family who live overseas is different, online group and live chats are good for that as its now free to call. In olden days you had to pay to call long distance and it would be very expensive, or you wrote a letter and waited, this was before email. Email is ok but you can't really play games on email or do fun things that need real time.
Email is more for work and family notices etc.

Don't do facebook or any of the others, messenger was ok, but since whatsapp and imessage I have ditched it.
Facebook was like the Old Friends or Friendster where you connected with all the people you went to school with, but for the most part where we ended up scattered all over the world, and so its hard to stay in touch that way, plus I don't really need to know all the gossip about them and THEIR friends too lol. Its occasionally nice to say hi to people you haven't seen in a while or you used to work with or moved away.

I tend to just enjoy the time I'm able to spend with each friend IN person, rather than have them call and chat all the time. And of course if you are going to church, you probably in a fellowship group and have made friends there, you may see them every week or every two weeks or at church events.

No and if he kept on judging me I would have just ignored him because I don't like fruitlessly arguing with judgemental people who don't know me from a bar of soap.

If someone likes something I don't like, it's really their thing, not mine. I don't have to make others like what I like or live the way I do, they don't have MY life or understand who I am.

Apparently, he has been here under many names.

I don't know if he's here currently, but I wouldn't be surprised if he made the rounds again.

Some of the regular members here are very good at spotting... "reincarnations" -- and I know that's one of the things they pointed out when that name was going around condemning everyone, lol.

While I'm very glad for the normal (or at least my kind of weird) people I've met here. This place has also taught me that there's a lot of crazy pharisees out there who call themselves christians.

may we have a list....?

CC hall of er...

I mean of all the reincarnations of Stan man. Not a list of all the CC members he condemned.

Does anyone want to bring up an old thread of Steves that I may have missed.
I just need some light relief. Been playing hard out Halo Kitty. It's tiring giving gifts to your friends all day and being helpful.

I don't have anything to make a list with.

It was other members who knew the other names he had been here under. He spent a lot of time in the BDF, and I'm rarely there.

As for who he interacted with, I never kept track.
