your so right about that. i still haven't taken a selfie of myself, don't care about that. my wife takes a bunch of them when we are on vacation but i instruct her not to send them til we arrive home.Good to hear that because a lot of people eat for trends apparently and so they can take a nice selfie at the restaurant and send it to their Instagram page.
Thank God i'm a Gen X-er the besssss generation that ever lived.
All right, i'm going to take these places one at a time then.i don't know how to send stuff like all you guys. if you want; Siro's is in saratoga on lincoln across from the track, Benjamin's of manhattan is on 52 east 41st, gallagher's is on 228 west 52nd near 8th.
fish is always a perennial wise choice. it really is brain food. probably why the japanese are so smartAll right, i'm going to take these places one at a time then.
So, i found this one here: https://benjaminsteakhouse.com/nyc/our-menus/
I would say that the menu is classic American dishes and while i do enjoy steak from time to time, it's not something that i would eat everyday. Because i grew up near the water, i eat more seafood generally.
The interior of this place looks nice too. But the menu is a bit selective for me.
I would probably try a filet mignon here cooked well or well done (yes, this is controversial) with baked potatoes and some mushrooms.
Not a bad place.
I don't know about that, i know they're determined ... and that pays off.fish is always a perennial wise choice. it trellis brain food. probably why the japanese are so smart
i hear you on that! yes, japanese parents raise their kids very strict.I don't know about that, i know they're determined ... and that pays off.
And of course their culture is very different too from everyone else. I know some woke leftist went there to "protest" them killing dolphins or whatever they eat over there and i was laughing the whole time with this clueless leftists who goes in the middle of Japan and tries to tell them how to change their lifestyle which they've been doing for centuries.
Leftists are funny like that.
holyheavens! i was just notified that there is $830 in my mom's estate that nobody wanted anything to do with. & you have all read about my family. i'll take it. it will cost me $50 to process & go before the judge then it's mine.hold on, another business call.
Medium rare steak for me. I love all types of seafood. All right, i'm going to take these places one at a time then.

indeed, most seafood i indulge in. caviar, lobster & alaskan king crab legs are my favs.Medium rare steak for me. I love all types of seafood.
IT IS VERY HIGH END! believe me. i dined there 100's of times over the decades. in fact, so high end, that they have the best crab legs, lobster, steak, maryland crab cakes & carrot cake that i ever had. when the track is open, fresh, never frozen seafood is brought in daily from the east coast. i don't have to make reservations. when they see me they ask what table i want. don't forget, the way someone is treated adds to the flare. we get the white-glove epicurean treatment. mike stone is a long time friend of mine.So the next review is for this place called Siro's https://sirossaratoga.com/menu/
So, on appearance i wouldn't call this place 'high-end' @Karlon and this gives me Italian-vibes when i see it so not sure what kind of restaurant this is. American or Italian but the one thing i'd get right away on that menu is Scallops.
My favorite.
Yeah but on appearance this is not high end. High end would be when the restaurant has marble floors.IT IS VERY HIGH END! believe me. i dined there 100's of times over the decades. in fact, so high end, that they have the best crab legs, lobster, steak, maryland crab cakes & carrot cake that i ever had. when the track is open, fresh, never frozen seafood is brought in daily from the east coast. i don't have to make reservations. when they see me they ask what table i want. don't forget, the way someone is treated adds to the flare. we get the white-glove epicurean treatment. mike stone is a long time friend of mine.
now that you clarified your meaning of high end, yes, there's different meanings. sir's decor is decent, not super.Yeah but on appearance this is not high end. High end would be when the restaurant has marble floors.
What's high end here seems to be 'old school service with a class' where the guy who opens the door for you is called Jimmy or Vinny and he has a tie and a suit. I know these places. They exist in Boston but the interior is from the Civil War.
Not very impressive to me. Food is amazing tho, don't get me wrong but the appearance is okay.![]()
i'll take 1 of each!!!!!!!! gtg, another time later.Chicken Cordon Bleu

Karlon, I’m not going to review that Japanese restaurant called Nobu because I don’t eat Japanese food or raw food or fish.
So I’m going to skip that. Like if you took me to a sushi place, I would simply walk out and leave you there.
Let’s do another restaurant review today @Karlon. @CarriePie, please join us.

I tried to find that Mediterranean place in Amsterdam NY but couldn’t find anything so let me know where that place is Karlon.
So this leaves me with Tavern on the Green in Manhattan. https://www.tavernonthegreen.com/menu/
First, I like the interior of this place. It does give a high end vibe. Very tasteful. And the menu here seems to have a more Mediterranean vibe too. Many things to choose from. Lamb, scallops or grilled fish.
I would probably try a grilled fish here just to see if this American restaurant knows how to prepare and cook fish like they do in Greek restaurants because from experience Karlon, I can tell you that very very very very few American restaurants know how to cook and prepare a whole fish.
This is a specialty reserved for the Greeks typically.
So I’d like to try it here just to see.
@CarriePie what are your thoughts here?![]()
