And here’s the pirate!😂
Ahoy matey!

On another note my wisteria is in bloom. What are the rules of having grapes on the boundary fence? Also are you allowed to plant flowers on the grass berm instead of having a lawn. Can I hang my washing out the front and drape my blankets over the railings of my verandah/porch?

What if I don't like having a white picket fence. Can I paint it neon orange?

I know I'm late to this party, but I just want to say that I love my neighborhood. I can hardly believe I live here. When I first moved here there was nothing here. A lot of the houses were still being built. It has grown into a beautiful thriving community. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world. I am very thankful and blessed. 🙏

The hills are usually just dead brush. This pic must have been taken after a very wet winter.

That's a majorly scenic view!
You are truly blessed. It makes me want mountains in the newly restored earth to come.

I live in the valley but my city is built on top of volcanoes and its an isthmus too, its very interesting to see it grow in front of your eyes, of course the further out you go, the newer the houses are and the younger population.

My neigbourhood, while it has its ups and downs, I have lived in all my life and consider it home. Not many people can say they've lived in the same home (which was new when my dad bought it) all their life.

I always thought it would be exciting to move houses but it would be probably the most stressful life event for me if I ever moved somewhere else permanently. I had one church friend who was always moving houses, like in the time I'd known her she'd moved house at least 4 times in 6 years and I couldn't keep up each time she changed her address.

Yes. The hills are usually brown dead brush, not green. Here's a pic from someone flying over my town.

That's much nicer than the sprawling city that I envisioned from movies/TV.
Now I remember the Napa Valley, the fertile wine region. The other I had to look up, San Joaquin Valley. That's good to see the natural beauty of California.

Not all is great in my neighborhood though. We sometimes have a police helicopter circling above looking for someone with their spotlight and sometimes their loudspeaker. We've also had a few brush fires.

My town is actually unique. Most places in SoCal aren't as picturesque. My town has been listed in Money magazine as one of the best places to live in the US. I'd rather not say where it is though, in case anyone's curious.

Oh and my house and my neighbor's house have been broken into and I've had my car broken into twice (my former car and my current car), and someone tried to steal my relative's vehicle parked in front of our house. But this all happened over a span of many years. And there's also earthquakes, but we've only had a few and they're not as scary as the movies make them out to be. Well there was one that was.
