Why bother?

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Because that's what Jesus wants from us.

Works follow Faith because we are changed.
These folks just don't get it. They are too busy trying to change themselves and save themselves. Moral self-reformation is not a substitute for regeneration.

Your entire wall of text makes the same type of error as Freed18 made by you treating repentance as an independent human work that is used to unlock grace. Scripture clearly states that repentance itself is a gift given by God. Acts 5:31 says Christ was exalted to give repentance to Israel, and Acts 11:18 says God granted repentance unto life. Romans 2:4 states that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance, and 2Timothy 2:25 notes that God gives repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. This repentance given by God is manifested in the changing of one's belief from a trust in man's works for salvation unto a total and complete trust in Christ as Savior for salvation. It is a change of mind and heart, not earthly performance - performance follows from that.
You cannot separate God's grace from repentance by making repentance into a human work. Ephesians 2:1 and 2:5 demonstrate that God alone makes us alive when we were dead in sins, with no human actions contributing whatsoever such as repentance. A dead person cannot perform works or manufacture repentance to give life to themselves. If grace is earned or maintained based on our repenting, then salvation is a payment for works and Christ is not THE Savior..

Yes, obedience isn't an option. Everyone who belongs to Jesus performs them, because He performs them in us. My salvation is completed by grace through faith, all of which comes from God. Your attempt at salvation comes from incomplete grace and faith which requires that you add your own works to complete it. You'll never get there. Your works will never be enough.
What is wrong with you? These are commands from God to us!

Jesus is not commanding Himself to perform obedience in us.

What is wrong with you?
Nothing.
These are commands from God to us!
Yes, they are.
Jesus is not commanding Himself to perform obedience in us.
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

sorry, but this makes no sense.

Yes.

Yes.

Shoe horn.

This is not in the verse. I sometimes think you are not even aware that you are shoehorning these into the passages that you are citing. There is no "demonstrating", there is simply obeying.

IOW, Jesus is not commanding them to "demonstrate" He is telling them to obey.

There is no "demonstrate" in this verse.
Put down your shoehorn and open your ears. Continuing (or abiding) in His word is the defining proof that we are truly His disciples. Being a true disciple of Jesus is validated by a continued commitment to His teachings and not a shallow, temporary one.

ignoring and negating the word of God along with sin and error are the darkness referred to in 1 Jn 1:6-7

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

thks

What do you think these words mean?
1 Jn 5:11-12

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Jn 15:5 apart from Christ? nothing!

Phil 4:13 with Christ? all things!

2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
