1. Rude behavior...can't abide it
2. Being wishy washy. Learn enough about a thing to have an opinion, don't just agree with me because you think it will impress me. It will impress me if you can tell me why you think the way you do whether I agree with you or not.
3. Whining...aaaaaaaarrrrgh
4. A guy who is afraid, hesitant or refuses to try something new

Calls you 'baby' or says 'hey, baby' the first time you meet.

Twilight saga and True Blood series are their favorite movies, and, shows, respectively.

Doesn't smile.

Yeah! I really hate that. The whole hey baby thing! Especially when you've known the person all of 5 minutes

My red flags:
If he tells me he is looking to find a girl to marry in 2 years time, 20 minutes into our first conversation. Too rushy for me.

He says he doesn't believe that men and women were designed to be best friends, only dating, or married. It should be both, eh?

He tries to change my mind about big things within the first few conversations. If he's like that when we just met, imagine if we were in an actual relationship!

Lies about little things that don't matter but seem odd that he would hide. It's likely there are bigger things he's lying about.

Pessimistic attitude on life. Blames state of emotions on circumstances frequently instead of taking control of own happiness in small ways. Takes the good for granted. Not going near that road again, and I don't want to date someone who is.

No sense of humor, or overly serious.

Makes sexist remarks or disrespectful assumptions of any kind.

Too old-fashioned...in the "bad" way (see above).

Controlling or manipulative.

*If I were a guy, I would have pretty much the same list about a girl I wouldn't date, just so you know I'm not picking on men. :p

On this site beware of getting involved with guys who only have females on their friends list. Usually means there girl crazy and just want females attention. Desperate sums it up
Of course its quite common on this site that most women seem to have mostly males on their friends, and vice versa. Thats a rather unfair blanket statement to make and rather presumptuous. I have all females on my friends list, but i'm neither girl crazy, nor desperate. In fact, i'm not even actively looking.
I think the statement made before about getting to know people before making assumptions about why they are the way they are would full apply to your assumption.

*Flighty... Make your mind up and commit to a decision!
*Not manly... Haha so, its true. I dumped my last boyfriend because he put drano cleaner in a toilet, couldn't tell the difference between a drain and an air vent, and knew less about cars then I do. When it comes down to it, every girl wants her man to be able to take care of those kinda "handyman" things once their married!
*Financially unstable... It's fine if you're poor. You make little and living expenses are high. But if you're spending what little cash you have on video games and pizza that's a huge turn off! I'm okay with having little money, as long as youre responsible with what you have and tithe weekly!
*Intimately awkward... I don't always want to make the first move! I like the guy to do it.
*Gives up easily... On anything. I strive for my dreams and always have faith. My guy has to be right there with me!

*If you have a serious lack of faith- Flag!
*If you have more self-esteem issues than I have- Flag!
*Unwilling to be honest about your past - Flag!
*Major flirt...like when you start dating you hope the flirtiness with others would end...but it doesn't! - Flag!
*Lying - Flag!

I always make lots of assumptions, and it suits me just fine. Weather you think its unfair or not makes no difference, as i will continue to assume things..

And yes i do know what they say about people who assume, so save yourself the trouble of that reply.

A lot of you are calling a lack of self esteem a red flag and that you wouldn't go out with them. What's funny, in a sad sort of way, is that I'm sure those here with low self esteem are probably going to come out of this thread with an even lower self esteem.

So that means we should date people with low self-esteem?

For the record.. I said "more self-esteem issues than I have" Which is to imply that I also have self esteem issues. I never said I wouldn't date someone with low self esteem!

I'm not about to tell anyone who they should go out with, I was just pointing out something of an irony.

Though to lay all my cards out, low self esteem is not something I consider all that terrible a trait in another person. Most of us go through patches of it from time to time, and who knows, a new relationship, or even someone just showing a bit of romantic interest could be just the boost they need.

After all, something's got to break the cycle of self doubt. And that something could in fact turn out to be a someone. A someone who is bold enough to not write you off completely just because the years and life experiences have worn away your self confidence.

But as I said, I was just pointing out the irony. I'm sure people have their reasons for red flagging these individuals, and I am certainly not going to criticise them for it.

It's okay, I got that. You just reminded me of some other comments I've read. To be honest, I'm not even sure they were in this thread.

A list of just a few of my flags:

1. Taking God's name in vain, this includes the widely used ''om-'' both in origional and abbreviated form
2. Gossip.
3. Catch them in a lie, and believe me, if they are lying it will eventually be revealed.
4. Placing anything or anybody above God.

Alright! I can appreciate the irony.

Checks Green off of my list of possibles. If I really care about a guy, I will absolutely call him Baby once a relationship is established, but none of those obnoxious poodle sounding lovey dovey names. :)
