Any thoughts?

I guess I'm not surprised? Though reading that chart seemed like a whole other world to me. Even though I currently live in this crazy world, it almost feels like I'm looking at it as an outsider when I read dramatic statistics like those.

And um no comment on what I voted, lol.

I feel ya, fam. This is one of the most pernicious addictions on the US, and probably world. You're not alone, and I can relate.

Every young man's battle or every young woman's battle are helpful starters on the road to recovery. It's not quick or easy, though. Most fight it their whole lives...

I am so sick of the porn out there now. Its like the Mafia just when you think your clear of it it pulls you back in. I want nothing to do with it. It is like all indulgences a little you think wont hurt you but soon you want more and more and more. You will loose all respect for yourself and others. Sex will become less fullfilling and inhibitions of bizzare things will float into your mind. If you think I am joking I am not, I have been down this road and at the end the devil was laughing with delight. God help me and forgive me for the road that I have traveled with all this garbage and I ask the prayers of you my brothers and sisters that I have sinned through my own fault. In my thoughts and in my words in what I have done and what I failed to do. I failed to turn away from this and turn to the Lord and now that I have turned to him I ask the strength of my Savior that I never fall into the devils hands again. AMEN

I wish I could relate, but I just don't get it. Porn seems to be the same old thing over and over again. It's empty and mechanical....boring. When I compare porn to the real deal, it's like comparing a rock to a bonfire. But I DO struggle with wanting to dance too close to the fire. God helps with THAT too. :)

hmmmm.... i have looked a porn a fair few times and yes my marriage is strong and very stable-however-i do so because my wife has entered the menopause and has no real intrest in sex which is frustraiting to me. but because i love her i dont look elsewhere except at those videos and pics

I've never watched "real" porn as in videos in my entire life.

I am guilty of looking at pictures containing bad material a lot this year. I'll say no more detail on that because of the nature of the forum that this is.

But yeah. I wouldn't say it's something I struggle with. Just something I'm not proud of, and try to move on from.

I find that it helps if I try and convince myself that stuff is boring and pointless, and remind myself that 5 hours later I'll feel bad inside, instead of enriched.

Wow, I just realized, this kind of talk reminds me so much of my "dieting" and controlling food cravings days... lol.
"Gotta remind yourself that that large piece of cake will make you feel lousy the next day." :p
Porn must be junk food for the soul.

well who can blame anyone? the media is showing off explicit footage of sexual content. its become more common and almost a part of life to think the way we do. as kids we wouldnt have been exposed to nearly naked people and think its a fashion, we didnt think about popularity. well yes i did check out porn a couple of times but it always gave me the nastiest feeling in the pit of my stomach, i was very ashamed. but the way i see it, i mean we are all brothers and sisters, and we should love one another =] love thy neighbor. i chose to be single, im done with having relationships that cause me to think and act sinfully. i want to care for others, not to judge them by their looks. sex is the least of my worries, i focus more on God and ask daily what it is I can do for him, not the other way around =] but when i do fall, I remember the free feeling I have when i focus more on my faith and His Love than look for worldly comfort that man has to offer here in the dark world. meaningless desires with deceiving and temporary costs for affliction are no match to eternal life with our Father =]

Ok women it's time to fess up. Men, if you think you have shame in viewing porn; at least it's viewed as normal for you to do it. Try being a woman with porn issues.
My porn issues started at 4 years old as a consequence of my dad's sex and porn addictions, and his abuse of me and my sister. My brother and I would sneak around and find it which wasn't hard to do since he didn't care to hide it. From about age 8-12 I didn't much pursue it. At 7 because of abuse that I was acutally aware of at the time, I began an obsession with masturbation. Much of the obsession was because no one really explained to me in any way what was occuring, and at the time I didn't yet connect masturbation and viewing pornography. At around 13 my mother began her very public obsession with cybersex. At first she would not allow me to be around, but after she became so obsessed with it going for hours and hours, spending whole days on the computer, she began allowing me to be in the room with her because otherwise we never saw eachother.
I became a Christian, but due to my mother's ambivalence towards all things sexual, I began viewing internet porn and actually connected it to masturbation. It became obsessive and very shameful, and I told no one about it. One day my mother even found porn on the computer history and she joked about the sites he was viewing. Little did she know, it was actually me who had filled up the computer history with porn sites.
During my early teenage years, for obvious reasons, it was an obsession. Eventually it became less and less of one. As an adult I still struggle with it from time to time. I hate it. I don't want to struggle with it. I have pushed through so many time and inevitably after finding victory over and over again, there's a moment of weakness and I fall once more. Unfortunately, because of the shame associated with it, it often become a few falls before I can stand up again.

Wow. Thanks for standing up and confessing all that. The guys often feel like they are alone in this particular sin, and even other guys are hard-pressed to actually confess it, Christian or otherwise. One purpose of this thread was to bring to light that a LOT of people struggle with this, and this post shows, to a certain extent, the brokenness that comes with a sin struggle.

Thanks for sharing all that. I think the first step in being healed from something like this is confessing it.

Everyday I watch porn because God is making me horny all the time since 12 instead of after marriage. Therefore, he's telling me to watch porn everyday until I'm married.

Hmm, it's odd that you'd attribute such a thing to God. Perhaps you aren't familiar with these verses:

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17)

"'For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" (Jer. 29:11)

"Keeping you from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife. Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes," (Proverbs 6:24-25)

In the past, I have experienced a disconnect in my fellowship with the Lord after indulging in porn. I guess it is the fact that you are being
selfish in your desires. Sex is not bad at all, but we can only really enjoy it if we follow Christ's parameters for it. Our generation that has grown up
watching saturday morning cartoons and knows about street sharks and tunami have been exposed to this at a higher rate because of the
easy access thru the internet, myself included. We all know its a click away. However, I have come to realize in my road out of sexual immorality
that it helps to have practical "antidotes" for when the body wants to get its 'fix'. I find that music helps, also physical movement not related to
you desire is helpful, like running, lifting weights, cardio. Most importantly the old saying that pysch student learn fast is "thoughts lead to actions" so
if you resist the devil in your thought life, the devil will flee from your thought life. but dont let your guard down, for we are soldiers in a spiritual war
we must remain steadfast. The war has already been won.

I'M FREE I'M FREE I'M FREE I'M FREE! i mean. achem.

The Lord is good to all. He has compassion on all that He has made. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
